(WE'RE BACK!!!)First timers to WDW,first time DISers,and a Disney crazed DH!U/D pg12!

Our little one was such a trooper. She never once complained. I guess she just wanted to get to Disney World! Her brother wasn't too bad either he complained a little about not having enough room to lay down. This was his first long trip with anyone in the backseat with him. (poor him)

Dh did such a wonderful job getting us back on track so a BIG from me!!! The smoke was awful we were all coughing but thank goodness it didn't last long! Ok and the Lovebugs!!! I lived in Florida for a good 10 years and I have never seen them so bad. When we pulled up to the hotel in Kissimmee and DH went inside to check in there where people pointing and laughing at us. I was like what's going on is it because we're from Kentucky?! It was all of the Lovebugs!!! When we went to Taco Bell I got out to look and the whole front of the car was BLACK!!! GROSS!!!

Oh and that Taco Bell was so terrible PLEASE no one in their right mind go to that Taco Bell! I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and almost didn't even bother. The smell almost knocked me back wards and it was so dirty. I have never seen any restroom that dirty!! My shoes did get stuck to the floor lol. I did end up loosing one to the sticky monster. I was never so happy to be out of that place!

Another for Dh. I was so happy when he came back and said our room was ready. I was sitting there waiting forever thinking what are we going to do. Everyone was tired and cranky. But luckily everything turned out ok. The hotel was clean we just happened to get a room on the bottom floor. It came with a fridge and a coffee maker and the Disney Channel!! The pool was really nice. There was a larger pool and then a small children's pool. There was a playground but we never got a chance to use it. I think we ended up staying in the pool for a half an hour before we were all just too tired to swim!

Great beginning to your TR! You have such an adorable family! Sorry you had luggage rack issues too. Glad they weren't as extensive as ours Our new cartop carrier is nicer and more secure We got it at Sears and it was $179 if you're interested for your next trip. Sucks shelling out $200 for your vacation AFTER your vacation. That's classified info, by the way, as it won't be in my TR til the last day's report hehe

And I almost forgot about the smoke! We noticed it too, and I was worried it would be bad in Disney. I never noticed an issue once we were on property, though, thank God. Did you?

The smoke pretty much cleared out after Lake city. I am glad we didn't see it on property!

Yeah the smoke was pretty bad. I'm not sure how far we ended up in NC I do remember seeing a sign for Cherokee and that's not too far for the Tennessee border. The rest of the trip does get better a few minor bumps but smooth sailing until Berry decides to show up!

We decided to stay in Kissimmee on the day we arrived to let DH rest and we wanted to save the magic of being on Disney Property when we weren't so tired. So we will never do it again always on site from now on out!!

I agree with this We did our first night at HoJo's Maingate East in 2005 and this time spent all 12 nights on site. It's just not the same off site IMHO I am very grateful that we are able to stay onsite

I can't even imagine the sinking feeling in your stomach when you noticed the luggage rack!

On with the TR. We woke up from our nap feeling refreshed and ready to go at about 4:30, thinking an hour was plenty of time to get to Rainforest Café for our 5:30 reservation. Boy were we wrong. I don’t know if it took us longer to get out of the hotel than we expected or if it took longer to get to Downtown Disney than we planned, or maybe the fact that I parked way too far away and it took us forever to walk to Rainforest Café because we had no clue where we were going, but needless to say, we missed our reservation by, oh, about an hour. And forgot the camera, so pardon the poor cell phone pictures.

We decided to wait the 15-20 minutes they told us it would be for the patio because we had gift cards and our carefully planned budget needed us to use them. The 15-20 minutes turned into 30 minutes, then 45, and finally we were sat. I worked in restaurants for years, so I understand things don’t always work out the way they should, and the small things don’t bother me. What did bother me was the other 15 or 20 minutes before our order got taken, and then the two hours before we saw any food. When they FINALLY admitted (This is after being assured by our server several times that our food would be right out) that they had forgotten about us, they brought the kids food out. Darth’s was wrong and Ariel’s was stale, cold and nasty. The rest of the food was out, and in no better shape than Ariel’s, and we were done eating before Darth’s ever came, and when it did, we said we wanted it to go. The manager came over with his fake apology (I know it was fake because I used it many times when I was a restaurant manager as well) with the promise to, and I quote, “Work some Disney Magic on the bill.” That “Disney Magic” turned out to be taking Darth and Ariel’s meals, not their drinks, mind you, just the meals, off and STILL leaving an almost $50 check to pay. Needless to say, I wasn’t happy at all, but I definitely was NOT going to let a bad meal ruin the night, so I kept my mouth shut and Mystik took the kids and headed out while I waited to pay, planning on meeting them at Once Upon a Toy.

I waited. And waited. Another 30 minutes for the server to come get the bill, everyone I tried to flag down walking right past me. I’m sure if I’d started getting up to leave without paying they would have noticed, but, like I said, I was trying REALLY hard to not let it ruin anything. After the bill was FINALLY paid, I headed out, looking for my family in a swirling sea of bodies. And, of course, me confusing The World of Disney store for Once Upon a Toy didn’t help either. After another huge amount of time, I realized my mistake and made it to Once Upon a Toy where I found my loving family and ended the first of several mishaps to occur when we split up, but more on that later.

Darth and I made him a lightsaber while Mystik and Ariel crammed a box full of My Little Pony pieces, and we headed out with a quick run through the Lego store and decided to call it a day after the whole dinner fiasco. After a relatively uneventful trip back to the hotel, we all pretty much collapsed, dreaming of a 7:50 reservation at Chef Mikey’s the next morning and hoping this meal wasn’t an omen for the rest of the trip.

Well it must have been the Disney Magic in the air. Here at home I would have been mad and complained the whole day. Just being in Disney World made me happy!

I was so looking forward to RFC but it did turn out horrible but the rest of the trip made up for it! And Chef Mickey's the next day really made everything turn around for the better!!

So while he was waiting for the check we decided to goto Goofy's Candy Store. I was just so upset and I wanted the kids to have just one magical moment so I told them I would get them whatever they wanted in the candy store. Well Darth was so upset he said he didn't think he wanted anything. Well Ariel went through like a tornado in that place. She was even handing Darth stuff and saying "here you have this!" I ended up spending about $30 which really not too bad! So we headed out to Once upon a Toy.

We sat on the curb outside of the door and waited for Pix. We ate some of the candy Ariel had bought because we were still all kind of hungry. Well we waited and waited still no Pix. So I told the kids to go ahead and come inside and we'll look around. That place is HUGE!!! Toys everywhere! I still don't think I looked at everything there and we ended up going back! (More on that later.) So I told Darth to start looking at the Light saber station while Ariel and I go look for the My Little Pony's. Well that place was packed! It was hot and we were all about to get really grumpy with each other. So Ariel and I got started making a pony and this guy comes up with his DD and is jumping up and down saying "You can cram as much stuff down in this box for only $18!!" Well everyone over there was snatching and grabbing stuff up like a blue light special at K-Mart!! Well I took Ariel over to look at some other stuff until the crowd died down. I turned around and there was Pix and Darth. What a relief! It had been forever and I was about to take everyone to the car (our spot to meet up if anyone gets lost) So Pix tells me about the bill and how he couldn't find us. I was so happy to see him I just couldn't be mad about anything else. So Darth and Pix went to make him a light saber and Ariel and I stuffed a box full of My Little Pony's (which isn't hard to do)

So after that we went over to the Lego store which Darth Lego's!! Well it was too and hotter than Hades! We were all just so tired and listening to a loud pushy crowd was the last thing Pix and I wanted to do. So we gathered the kids up (Darth was we had to leave the beloved Lego's) and headed back to our hotel in Kissimee.

We stopped on the way back at McDonald's and got some Mcflurries and me a hamburger. We ate and cleaned up. Then went to bed and dreamed of our breakfast with Mickey!!!

Ok guys I am going to try to update asap. My DS just left yesterday with his grandparents to visit his Uncle in Denver He'll be gone for 11 days! That's the longest he has ever been away from home. Also I am planning on going back to school this fall and I have orientation for most of tomorrow. So I'll be real busy around here and hope to post soon!

First off I think your treatment at RFC sucks. Second, I want to know about building the lightsaber. I think DS would love this. Wonder if they'd give us a problem on the plane? Can you take them apart again after?
