Hey everyone!
We're back and we had a GREAT TIME! My mom and I got back last night!

I thought that I woul put everything into one post to hit the highlights of our trip.

We headed for the airport at 3 am on July 27. We had to drop our car off at the off airport parking place, then have them take us to the airport. Our flight wasn't until 7:00, but we wanted to make sure we were there in plenty of time to check in and get through security. When I was going through security, I did get stopped and had to have the wand run over me. I was wearing overalls with metal buckles.

Our layover was in Atlanta. Our gate was chaged from the concourse we came into to a course that was 3 away! I really didn't think that it would be that far, so we decided to walk those three concourses instead of taking the train! BAD IDEA to walk! By the time we got to our gate for,we had enough time to have lunch. Mom had cooked some chicken and other stuff for us and we had a quick lunch before it was time to board. We were supposed to leave Atlanta at 11:35. Itwas after 12 before we took off because there were lots of other planes before us. That made us late getting into Orlando. It was 1:30 when we got into Orlando. Then it was off the plane and off to baggage claim to get our luggage and get the shuttle service to get to the hotel. As we had prepaid for our trip, we had to use our vouchers tht our travel agent had given us to get the r/t tickets for the shuttle. After a few minutes, they put us on the shuttle and we were off to the hotel. We stayed at the Al Stars Movies. We also noticed that it had been raining at some point before we had landed.

Anyway, we got to the hotel with no problem, checked in, and went to our room. We were in the Mighty Ducks 2 building. The room was just what we needed, for no more time than we were going to be in the room anyway. Mom changed clothes and we were off to Downtown Disney. The Disney Magic started working right away because we weren't out out the bus stop more than a couple of minutes because a bus pulled up headed for DTD! We walked through the Market Place and West End and around by Pleasure Island. After a couple of hours, we caught a bus and headed back to the hotel.

The first full day we went to Epcot, which was wonderful! We weren't trying to catch the characters for pictures and autographs, but we walked right into this! A bus was driving around at the International Gateway and some characters got off the bus and we went over and got some autographs and pictures. My mom usally doesn't like to take pictures, but she happily posed and I got some great pictures! There was Mickey and Minnie, Friar Tuck and Baloo from 'Robin Hood' and Donald. There may have been one or two more that I am missing here. I felt bad for Friar Tuck because no one was getting his autograph, so I went and got his. I actually didn't remember his name until I saw his name on my book!

After the character greetings we went through the World Showcase and walked through the countries. They were great! Italy was my favorite. We saw some Italian mimes (I guess that's that they were) doing a performnce. It looked like a wedding from what they were doing. After the performance, we took some picture. We had lunch at one of the places that had counter service, then we headed back to the hotel for a rest and a shower. We went back to Epcot later in the evening so we could see Illumintions. THAT WAS A GREAT SHOW!!

Day 2 we were off to Magic Kingdom. We had an early ps for Crystal Palace. Disney Magic was back at work for us! Our ps was for 9:00. As soon as we got to the park we got directions to the restaurant. We went to the restaurant and checked in. It was just after 8:00, as this was EMH. We signed in at the window and I was wanting to walk around, but we just hung around. THEN THEY CALLED OUR NAME! I ws SO excited that w got in sooner than our time! The waitress (sorry I don't know the proper terminology) came to our table and explained everything to us, that we were expected to go back as often as we wanted, that we shouldn't be in any hurry to leave. She even explained to us what directions the characters would be going in. Apparently, Pooh was part of the greeting team as he never went by the table. Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger came by our table and everyone was awesome! Piglet came by our table a second time and motioned for my autograph book, apparently forgetting that he had already signed my book! He put his paws to his face and shook his head! SO cute! The food was WONDERFUL! My mom talked about this place the rest of the time were at Disney. According to her, everything else failed in comparision! We rode some of the rides, had lunch there, and left the park after the 3:00 parade. We rode the Flying Carpet ride, but couldn't figure out where the water was coming from that kept landing on us. I discovered it little too late and we got wet again!

Day 3 we went to Animal Kingdom. We had breakfast at Tusker House. It wasn't the greatest. We saw the Lion King Show. Mom thought this was the best part of the day. We went down inside the Tree of Life and saw 'It's Tough To Be A Bug'. I must tell you that if you have no depth perception, then 3D shows don't work for you, as in my case. I missed the visual effects of the show because of this. OH! And his was another show where we got wet from one of the bugs spitting at us! LOL My mom just KNEW this was some kind of conspiracy! We left the park around 1 or 2. I was pooped.

We went back to the hotel and did some laundry which was MAJORLY expensive! It was $2.00 to wash, $2.00 to dry, $1.00 for a box of soap and $1.00 for fabric softener. It was $12 since we had two loads to do! YIKES My mom and I have this thing about people going through our suitcases with dirty clothes in them. It was raining while we were doing laundry and continued to do so for about 2 hours. It had been raining around 2 or 3 ever day, but we had always managed to make it back to our room before then. When it finally quit raining, we decide to go back to DTD to have dinner at Planet Hollywood, since the package we had listed that as on of our choices. we had about a 20 minute wait. We decided to share a dinner. We had the ribs which were pretty good.

Day 4 we had another character breakfast. We had a ps at Chef Mickey's at 11:00. We had been getting up early, like at 6:00, but snce we didn't have to be anywhere for awhile, we decided to sleep in, which as it turned out was 7:00! BIG WOW I know! lol We got up, got dressed and took a bus over to the Magic Kingdom, took the monorail to the Contemporary. I hae to say this, and I KNOW that I a lot of people are into Chef Mickey's, but neither my mom nor I was impressed by Chef Mickey's Where the restaurant was set up made it congested, for people waiting for a table, for those leaving, for the waitstaff needing to walk through. We did however get an earlier seating than our 11:00 ps, so that was good. A lot of the food was the same as the Crystal Palace, but there were a few different things on the buffet. Chip ad Dale were great! Dale was SOO funny! He walked by our table one time, did this gun shoot thing with his fingers and started dancing! LOL Itwas too cute! PLUTO was the absolute best though! He was very interactive with us! He came up to me, my nose to his nose, like he was sniffing me. Then he bumped his nose into my nose, which mad me laugh an my mom was just cracking up! Then he went to give me a hug and I reached for a hug from him. He grabbed my head and hugged my head!!! I was underneath his arm and I was telling my mom, 'He's messing up my hair!' He let go of my head and started smoothing my hair down flat! I hadn't FIXED it flat when I ixed it that morning, but it was flat THEN! A couple of times, the charcters were doing this dancing thing with their napkins and asked everyone to join in. Well, the one time Iwas sitting down to see this and not at the buffet, Pluto was in our section. We was twirling his napking and hit a 12 year old boy in the eye with his napkin. Pluto felt really bad for having done that. It was an accident. Anyway, we had paid our bill and were ready to go. Goofy hadn't come into our section so we had to get his autograph and picture before we left. Anyway, Pluto was back in our section and I said good bye to him. He took my hand and skipped me out of our section! The he took my arm and skipped me the rest of the way out of the restaurant, over to where people were waiting to be seated. He kissed my hand, then we to another section of the restaurant. We went to getpictures and autographs with Goofy. I think Goofy was having a bad day because he was NOT as friendly as far as taking pictures and getting autographs went.

After that, we were off to MGM. It was almost 12:00 by this time. We took the monorail back over the the Magic Kingdom because I thought we could get a bus over there going to the MGM. We aked at the bus information center and were told that we would have to take the boat over to the TTC and get a bus there. We had just passed the TTC on the monorail. Oh well! Mom said she wanted to ride the paddleboat anyway! So we took the boat over to the TTC and caught a bus to MGM. MGM was wonderful! It was like stepping back in time, to the 1920s! We looked in some of the shops and bought some things. I had told my mo that I would ride the Tower of Terror with her, so we went over there to get a Fast Pass, since Mom had mentioned that we hadn't used a Fast Pass YET! Our Fast Pass was for 3:50 and 4:50. We decided to get in line and see the Beauty and the Beast show, which was wonderful. By the time we got out of there, the clouds had started banking up and it started raining. I had been carrying my umbrella and poncho that I bought from home with mne at every park we'd been to, but today I had left it back at the hotel. I ended up having to buy one. All of the shops had ponchos to sell, because just about everyone we saw was decked out in a Mickey Mouse poncho. It still wasn't time for our Fast Pass at the Tower of Terror so we went on the Great Movie Ride! That took me back to some of the movies I used to watch when I was young! By the time we got off that ride, it was time for our Fast Pass, so we boogied over to the Tower of Tower. Mom didn't think they would even be running the ride since he had been raining and lightening. But it had quit by the then so we sailed righ on by the stand by line, right up to the front! MAN hat a great ride! My mom insisted that I screamed my head off from the time we were actually seated on that elevator until the time we got off the ride. I think it happened otherwise. I kept my eyes closed the whole time anyway! LOL

After that, we did the Backlot Tour. That was fun too! I had madea ps for us to have dinner at the 50s Prime Time Cafe, but we ended up not doing this, since we changed our schedule of what park we were going to on what day. We had dinner at the ABC Commisary, which was actually pretty good. I asked my mom if we could go see the 50s PT, so off we went. I wanted to see the inside of the place. Looked like a lot of fun, a fun place to eat!

After I got my Minnie Mouse hat, was a happy camper and we headed back to the hotel to pack to leave he next day! We had a great time! Thanks everyone for all of your help!

We thought the Crystal Palace was wonderful as well. We were one of the first families and they made my DD Chef of the Day! We didn't feel rushed and the food was great and being in MK before the park opened allowed for DD to Fantasyland before it got crowded (Fantasyland is about all she would do). Highly recommend Crystal Palace with an early PS!!! Glad you had a great time.

sounds like you and mom had a great trip. I totally enjoy the crystal palace. We are diffently doing ps for breakfast there.
