We're back, and the trip was full of Magically Magical Magic!!

Sounds like another great day! I to am not very good at the game rides! But, it's still fun to ride and at least try!

great report!
from your neighbour down the 401!
Thanks, and welcome, I'm thrilled to have another Canuck on board! Wasn't the weather wonderful today? Oh, and happy thanksgiving!

Just read your first post. Don't want to lose this thread!
Thanks for subbing, welcome to the fun!

Just found this and am all caught up. I am looking forward to seeing your pictures. :thumbsup2
Glad you're caught up, I'll post as quick as possible, there's still more magic to come!

Sounds like another great day! I to am not very good at the game rides! But, it's still fun to ride and at least try!
Normally I've highly competitive, but I'm always just having so much fun in Disney I don't care that I'm so bad at rides! Mal always goes online and looks for "cheats" on Buzz, so she wallops me every time. But honestly, even if I knew where to aim, I'd still do bad. :)

Please tell me you didn't have bed bugs!:scared:

You're not gonna get flamed from me. I know how it is to have a debilitating injury.

Day Five - September 16th

The Plan: Early entry MK for CP, WCC at the WL, CRT and an early night at the hotel!

The Reality: Woke up early this morning, but not that early, since the MK was just a glorious monorail ride away! Walked over to the T&TC and caught the magical train in the sky and were walking through the MK turnstiles in under 10 minutes. How will I ever stay off the monorail again, I'm not sure. Mal had never been in the park before opening, and was beyond thrilled that I'd secured us this awesome ressie. She ran around like a chicken with its head cut off taking photos while I checked us in. I took three photos from the steps of CP. Here is one.

P1010004.jpg

She showed back up right when our name was called, and in we went! We got the whole "if you miss the characters, they WILL NOT come back to your table for an hour" warning, which always feels very un-Disney to me, but we know how to work the buffet so that doesn't happen.

I took my fav pic with Pooh here...

DSCN0016-1.jpg

And then we met the rest of the gang!

DSCN0032-1.jpg

Breakfast went smooth, and soon we were on our way into the park. Now, Mal and I without fail always start the MK in Adventureland. For some reason, I wanted to do Fantasyland. So, we're walking up behind the castle, and there she is. The Fairy Godmother. I don't know if I've mentioned that Mal and I collect characters, and let me tell you, we were STOKED! :cool1: :cool1: Oh, it was so good.

DSCN0039-1.jpg

Tip: Fantasyland at park opening, DEAD to the world. It seems almost everyone else usually starts in either Tomorrowland or Adventureland, and the place was deserted. We literally walked onto everything, it was amazing.

By then, it was almost 10, and I wanted to go watch ToonTown open, so we walked over. Apparently, they'd opened at 9:45, so we missed it, but Mal decided to ride Barnstormer. I cannot do rollercoaster’s of any type now, so I wandered around the Judge's tent and then and waited at the exit. Mal came off, and was pissed. Not really pissed, but confused pissed. Why? She'd spotted the dream team!! They were just standing at the end of Barnstormer. They even talked to her. But nothing. Will we never win a dream?!?! :sad2: Oh well.

We then moved on to Tomorrowland and did basically everything but Stitch (which I refuse to do, it's gross and I miss the Alien ride) and the Astro Orbiter. I'm going to delve off track here for a few moments, bear with me, it's a funny story.

So, the Astro Orbiter. I once thought I was going to die on this ride. See, two years ago Mal and I decided to ride the Astro. We waited in that stupid line to get in that tiny, hot, claustrophobic elevator to ride up to the top. We get up there, and the ride operator looks at us, and tells us to share a rocket. At this point in my life, I'm about 25 pounds heavier than now, and Mal isn't a lightweight either. I'm sure you see where this is going, but we just listened to the operator. It was probably some sick joke. So, I clamber into the rocket, and Mal somehow, without the use of any sort of grease, manages to get into the rocket as well. OMG, that rocket could have actually flown to the moon, we were not moving an inch. So, we're spinning, and laughing hysterically, because there is no freaking way we are going to ever be able to get off of this ride without someone using the Jaws of Life. I mean, we are PACKED into that rocket. The ride ends, and nope, we cannot get out. I'm sure it didn't help that we were dizzy and weak from laughter, and then laughing even more as we attempted to move. Finally, I shove Mal up with my hands and legs (which she is sitting on) while she tries to push herself out. I kid you not, there was a noise like a whooshing pop, like that noise when a seal breaks and we were finally free. Man, it was funny and humiliating all at the same time. Then I think Mal went and ate a turkey leg.

I'm sure you can now understand why we have not gone back on that ride again. Hope that made someone out there laugh!

Back to the current trip. We now had to leave the park to go to WCC at the WL for lunch, another first for Mal. She was pretty stoked with my choices so far for meals. The food was delicious, but our waiter lacked antics. I even asked for ketchup, which he finally brought during dessert? Oh well, at least the food didn't suck! We took the boat back to the MK, where Mal rode Space Mountain and then we did Buzz. I somehow hit a target worth 200,000 points (which is about 180,000 points higher than I usually get on the ride) when the ride SHUTS DOWN. And my score disappears. :headache: SERIOUSLY?? Whatever. Stupid Buzz and its stupid hardness.

For some reason, we then left the MK and went back to the Poly for a nap. I think we wanted to look pretty for our dinner at the castle, plus, we were just a monorail ride away!! I apologize for all the references to the monorail, but it was just so awesome.

Refreshed and ready to eat in the castle, Mal and I returned to the MK. There was a MNSSHP that night, and people were starting to file in all dressed up. We saw these two men, and they were dressed as Jacques and Gus Gus from Cinderella, and they looked awesome. We checked in at the desk, had our pic taken with Cindy and then sat and waited. And waited some more. And then, there was some sitting and waiting. Finally, 35 minutes after our ressie time, I went back to the front desk to make sure we'd actually be checked in, and was informed they were short on 2 tops that night, hence the wait. Ok, whatever! About 10 minutes later, we were sent up the stairs into the restaurant! Mal was stunned, it really is cool the first time you get to go up there.

Here's Mal with the menu
P1010019.jpg

And we were led over to a table right by the window overlooking Fantasyland!! :cloud9:

The food was ok, my appie came out wrong, and Mal's had a hair in it, but both were replaced. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed, but to her credit, it was crazy in there. The show was cute, I was just happy to finally meet Suzy and Perla, we even got photos with them!! I think to make up for the wait and the incorrect food, we received not only our ordered desserts, but a sundae with two chocolate crowns AND a special Halloween dessert.

P1010044.jpg

Yummy. We then received our complimentary photo, which is by far the worst photo of the entire trip. Even Cindy looks horrible. This photo will not be posted.

Just some random photo's from dinner...

P1010047.jpg

After dinner, we made our way out of the park, and went back to the Poly to watch HallowWishes from our balcony. Of course, we got back and it was only about 7:15, so we decided to hop into our beds and watch some Lifetime Movie Network (don't judge, they are trashy and wonderful and I only get to see them in Disney). I pull my covers back, and much to my surprise, there are tiny little black bugs in my bed. Since there were only about 10, I just started to kill them, and then Mal says the dreaded words "Are those bedbugs?". OMG, ARE THEY?!?! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I freak out, trap them in a drinking cup and immediately call down to the front desk. I should mention that I'd woken up with a bite on my hand that morning that was super itchy and inflamed, but had thought nothing of it really. So, I get the not real front desk, as all calls go into a call centre, but I said bugs in my bed, and they transferred me ASAP to the Poly front desk. I explained to the girl down there what was going on, and was transferred to another girl who then told me she was going to call the night manager and call me right back. We get off the phone, and of course, I feel like I'm covered in bugs, totally psyching myself out. The phone rings, and it's the front desk. The night manager is dealing with something else, but they are going to send someone up to change my sheets. Do we want to move? I discuss this quickly with Mal. Do we want to move? Like, pack everything up and move across the resort? Yeah, I think we do, since I don't know what these bugs are. The nice lady tells us just to pack up and call bell services when we're ready to move. Awesome. Mal and I begin throwing things into our luggage when HallowWishes starts, and we figure, what's another 10 minutes, and out onto the balcony we go. About 5 minutes in, I turn to say something to Mal, and see in my peripheral vision a man in my room. And he's ripping my bed apart. What the heck?! I hop up and fly into the room to see what's happening. It's the poor night manager, who looks like he just ran a 12 hour marathon. As soon as I see the Disney badge, I stopped freaking out. Apparently, he'd knocked and assumed we were just watching Wishes and let himself in. Good thing I wasn't naked! Why I'd just be standing in the room naked, I don't know, but good thing I wasn't. He said he didn't find any bedbugs (he said they'd be between the mattresses in a giant swarm...ick), and said that he didn't know what the bugs I'd caught were, only that they weren't bedbugs. Thank God. He apologized for not coming up quicker, but he'd been with the police. Umm, what?

Apparently, they were looking for some parents. Who had left their children unattended in a room. :scared1:  Are you freaking kidding me? I'm assuming they were too young to be in a room unsupervised as the police were involved. How does that ever seem like a good idea? Anyhow, back to my problems. He had the entire bed stripped and remade with fresh everything. He then offered to let us move it we wanted, or we could just sleep somewhere else in the building to help me deal with my phantom itching, or just stay in our room. He said we didn't have to decide right then, but gave us his direct extension should we decide to move. And then they were gone.

I have to say, I was really pleased with how the entire situation was dealt with. I was also really pleased there weren't bed bugs, although how my bed was made with bugs in the sheets is beyond me. We decided not to move, and figured if we saw any bugs again or I received any more bites that we'd pack up and move, but that didn't happen. Mal and I figure the entire room was probably fumigated after we check out anyhow, just in case.

After all of that, we basically just threw ourselves into bed and watched some LMN before passing out.

Up next - Day 6, the half-way mark. We're doing a half-day at AK, the afternoon at Blizzard Beach, and the surprise dinner I know Mal will love! And YOAMD? Not likely. Stay tuned, I'll post Day 6 tomorrow!

Hey everyone, sorry I didn't post yesterday, but the Thanksgiving got a little out of control, and I didn't get home until 4:30 am. So, even though I'm exhausted, you're getting a post before I sleep tonight.:goodvibes

Day Six - September 17th

The Plan: Ohana's, AK, Yak and Yeti, Blizzard Beach and a surprise Luau!

The Reality: Woke up early to make our 7:30 breakfast ressie. I learnt on my last trip that Ohana's for breakfast is total chaos, so we wanted first seating. As it was, we still had to wait about 10 minutes for our table. Breakfast was good, Mal liked it and said she'd return if we were staying there, but would prefer Kona. That gal was ADDICTED to Tonga after one bite!

Here are just a few pics from breakie.

P1010061.jpg

P1010065.jpg

P1010067.jpg

We were able to catch the first bus out to AK, where we went right to Dinosaur, the watched Nemo, saw Lion King and did Bugs Life. I love Nemo, Mal has the soundtrack for the show, and we sing it all the time. And we felt totally geeky when we were in FotLK. Both of us were pointing out people who are new, how my favourite monkey wasn't there anymore, and even how some of the minor dancer characters were playing different animals than last year. Does that mean we're in Disney too much? :rolleyes1 I should mention that while I cannot go on Everest currently, even if I was completely fine, I still wouldn't go. For both Mal and I, the backwards in the dark is the killer. The first time we went on it, we both staggered off and just sat on the ground for about 20 minutes. This is a no-ride for both of us, which actually works out well, since we don't have to worry about that section of Asia! After the shows and rides, we had our ressie at Yak and Yeti. Our server was awesome, and Mal and I both enjoyed our food. Sure, it's sort of basic and is really overpriced, but that just makes it really worth the dining credit. I think it's the best lunch sit-down option at AK, and we will totally be back.

Now totally stuffed, we rolled ourselves to the front of the park, met Pocahontas and caught a bus to the Beach of Blizzards. I have to admit, we may have only done the Lazy River here! I think we tried to sit on the chairs with our feet in the wave pool, but a lifeguard put an end to that real quick. It was a very nice relaxing experience, and a great way to spend a hot afternoon.

I'm going to interrupt my TR (as usual) to vent a bit. Does anyone like that there are now photo pass photographers in the water parks? Sure, maybe at the bottom of the slides, whatever, but when I'm laying, bearing a striking resemblance to a beached whale on an inner tube in the lazy river, I really don't like opening my eyes to see a camera man snapping pictures of me from about 1 foot away. :scared: I didn't even look at those photo's online, that card when in the garbage ASAP. Vent is now over, I will continue on with the rest of the day.

I was so excited to get back to the hotel, take a dip in the pool and then get ready for the Spirit of Aloha show! :yay: Mal and I plan to eventually try every restaurant that Disney has on property, as well as every hotel, and this trip sure helped out in both departments! I knew Mal really wanted to see the Aloha show, and I hadn't been in years, and since we were at the Poly, it just made sense. Sure enough, she was thrilled that was our plan for the night. So, we both got all showered and slightly gussied up and walked over to the Luau Cove. We bypassed the photo op, and were seated on the side a bit, but at the very first table. The show was pretty long, and the food was ok, but when it ended Mal thought she wouldn't need to do that again for a while. I'm looking forward to trying the other two shows next year, so at least we'll have a basis for comparison. Oh, I should mention that the fire dude was totally beyond. For sure the favourite part for both of us. Also, after this night, I had rock the hula in my head for the rest of the trip. And about a week after. And now that I've written about it, I'm sure it's back for at least a few days. Good thing I loves me my Elvis!

I think once the show was over, we just filled our cups at Captain Cooks and went back to the room to call it an early night. Sadly, no matter what time we get back to the room, we don't seem to actually try to go to sleep until at least midnight. Sometimes, I don't know how we don't just collapse in the middle of the day!

Up next - Day 7. All day Epcot with Princesses, German's and Moose, oh my! Will we actually complete Kidcot? Why must people pick fights with me in Epcot? Does the Dream Team even really give out dreams? Why are we laughing uncontrollably? Stay tuned!!

Yes creppy waitor, seems like a few trip reports the waiter seems to make pases, lol

You were busy over Thanksgiving!

I'm singing rock the uola and feeling phantom bugs just reading your report. To bad I don't have a balcony to go out and watch wishes on to clear my mind.

I just read the last 2 updates! Sounds like you gals had a great 2 days, except for the bugs! I would have completely freaked out!!! :scared1: Yyyyyyuuuuccccckkkkkk!!!!!! I'm glad they weren't bed bugs!

I've read that the waiters in the France pavilion are notorious! I have to say, it's probably the best place to meet people as a worker besides working a resort in Mexico or something, since people are on constant rotation. It just totally threw me off...plus, it was, like, 8 am!!! Oh, and welcome to the thread!

Yeah, I'd love to have a balcony with Wishes at my disposal all the time. And, that would mean I'd live at Disney! Any chance that's a prize for YOAMD?

I just read the last 2 updates! Sounds like you gals had a great 2 days, except for the bugs! I would have completely freaked out!!! :scared1: Yyyyyyuuuuccccckkkkkk!!!!!! I'm glad they weren't bed bugs!

OMG, you and me both, I don't even know what my reaction to bedbugs would be. But it would be bad. And loud. And probably the only time I'd expect Disney to give me something for free. Ick.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to post quickly to mention that I have photo's for the rest of the posts, and am just trying to figure out how to add them so I can keep going. Sorry for the delay!!

This is just a test to see if photobucket loves me or not...if this works, we are officially in the picture business!!

P1010001.jpg

As some of you may have noticed, there are now some photos. Some are tiny. That was my first attempt with Photobucket. The rest of the photos will be normal sized. Also, Mal still hasn't given me the rest of the photos, and we have a tendency to forget to use both cameras, so I am sorely lacking STILL for some pics. But the plan is to give her access to my Photobucket account so she can just upload them from her house. Hopefully soon, but she just got promoted to Assistant Manager where she works (:woohoo:) so I guess we'll wait and see. Why isn't there a "fingers crossed" smiley?

On with Day 7!!

Day 7 - September 18th

The Plan: Princess breakfast in Norway, fun in Epcot, lunch with the German's, more fun in Epcot and heaven in Canada for dinner.

The Reality: We were shockingly never late for a single ADR this entire trip. Not that Mal and I aren't punctual people, but on deluxe, dealing with navigating through the parks or to different locations for every single meal, that's impressive.

DSCN0160-1.jpg

We were right on time for breakfast, and is Epcot ever weird with zero people. And I mean weird, it was not nearly as cool as the MK.

DSCN0164-1.jpg

Empty, you feel the size, and the walk to Norway felt like it took DAYS. But, we got there and checked in, and were seated really fast. There were no people in line ahead or behind us, and I was super excited to see that Belle was in the lobby. Too bad she was one cranky....well, I love the character, so I still can't swear about it, but honestly. She would not pose with me alone, she would not allow us to take photos with our own cameras, nothing. :sad2: Which I'd understand if there was anyone else waiting to see her, but nope, it was just us and Belle. Evil, crabby Belle. BOO. Breakfast was standard fare, the potatoes were good, and Mal and I both liked that the serving size was adjusted for there only being 2 of us. Much less waste here. For some reason, I only have two pics from this meal, both of Mal.

P1010070.jpg

P1010072.jpg

Oh, and our princesses were Belle, Jasmine, Aurora and Mulan. I think when we went for dinner last year, there were five characters...and all were real princesses, Mulan is so not a princess. At least Mary Poppins wasn't there, Mal would have freaked. She has a bizarre hatred of that woman, and every year, I try to find a Mary and make Mal pose. :lmao: Haha, I'm evil that way.

After breakfast, we walked back to the front of the park and did Spaceship Earth so we could send more ecards, but our interactivity thing didn't work, so that was a bust. We then went to Test Track, rode and grabbed some FPs for later. After that, we decided we wanted to do the Seas pavilion, and cut through Innoventions West to walk in air conditioning rather than outside (not even kidding, that is what Mal and I use Innoventions for. Air conditioning.) There was a Cast Member by the door who told us to walk left rather than right, so we did, and OMG, ITS THE FREAKING DREAM TEAM. Not going to lie, I was borderline not excited, as I figured it would be like before, where they say hi and that it. But nope, we were handed these babies!!

P1010073.jpg

Once I get my pics from Mal, I'll show you who gave them to us, since I made them pose with us.

DSCN0178-1.jpg

You would have thought we won the night in the castle, we were jumping around, yelling, showering love on the dream team, and it was great. :cheer2:

I wore my DFP like a badge of honour for the rest of the day. It was AWESOME! I now officially love Innoventions.

We went over to the Seas and decided we'd to Kidcot, since we had the time and since we've heard it's being replaced with a Kim Possible thing. After the Seas, we went to the Land, and used our DFP for Soarin and signed up for the behind the seeds tour for after lunch. We did the Kidcot there, I left my purse behind, but noticed super fast (still had the DFP though) and retrieved it. I believe we also had a snack and drink here, but that must have been before Soarin? I'm a bit fuzzy on the order. We then took the boat over to Germany (which takes a bit, but we weren't rushing and it was a nice ride) and did some more Kidcot before checking in a Biergarten. We both enjoyed the German band, and the food was decent, but I'm German, so....I'll probably skip this next time. My Oma lives next door, and can make me German food whenever I want, and I can listen to my Opa's German records, and it's like being at Biergarten. I'd just rather use that dining credit for something more expensive. ;)

After lunch, we walked back to the Land (in hindsight, this was not a well-planned walking day) and checked in for our tour. I'll mention now that I live in a forest that has been decimated by the Emerald Ash Boer. The University of Guelph did some research in our forest studying them, and I know a freakish amount about them, since about 30-40% of our trees died as a result. This boring fact will come into play later. The tour was great, I love the Living with the Land ride, and this was just super cool. And with the CAA/AAA discount, it was about 13 bucks or so. Here are some pics!

These are ladybugs we got to release later.

The whole tour took about 1.5 hours, and was quite interesting. At one point, right after we released the ladybugs, this couple from Toronto told the guide and the group about how we have these bugs in Ontario that look like ladybugs, but they bite and are currently killing all of the ash trees. I would have let it go, but the guide was asking questions, and since it's his job, I didn't want him to maybe think this was interesting and pass on faulty info. So I piped up that we're from Ontario, and while there are these Japanese beetles that do indeed look like ladybugs, but are orangish and smell like cut grass when you kill them, those are not what are killing the ash trees. And this Toronto dude got so mad! He kept saying I was wrong, and he knew what he was talking about, blah, blah, blah. :rolleyes1 Once he was done his rant (slash his wife shushed him) I mentioned the Guelph thing, and he still insisted I was wrong! So I just let it go. Let's just say, Epcot is apparently my angry people magnet.

After the tour, we made our way back to Test Track, and sadly discovered that Kidcot there was closed. After using our FP from earlier, we finished up Kidcot around the world, and Mal bought a Passport to complete as well. It was really cool, I'd never seen one before, and it seems like it would be a great souvenir. It actually took us until our dinner ressie at Le Cellier to complete our masks and Mal's Passport, so it was a good way to extend the World's part of Epcot.

Oh, and here's a pic of me rocking the moose ears.

DSCN0208-1.jpg

Dinner was, in a word, heavenly. :cloud9: I love steak, I love the soup there with the pretzel bread, I love the atmosphere, everything. Our experience was great. However, there was a lady with two boys in the waiting area when we checked in. Her ressie was for 6:05. Ours was at 7:15. We were seated at 7:30, and she was still waiting. I have no idea what was going on there, but her kids were tired, she was tired, and I think at that point was refusing to leave because 1) It's a hard ressie to come by and 2) she'd already waited so long. I have no idea if/when she was seated, but I did apologize when we walked past her that we got seated before her. Again, I don't know the circumstances beyond that, perhaps there had been a mix-up, sometimes the people on the phone get the dates wrong (which is while I bazillion check) but holy crap, I'd have been LIVID. Poor woman.

Now, Mal and I started to get goofy in the restaurant. We were tired, we'd won a dream, which was emotional, and were just prone to laughter. I kept making my mask talk, and drink from my drink, which we both found oddly amusing.

P1010132.jpg

We were just giggly all through dinner, and by the time we were leaving Le Cellier, we were near hysterics. On this trip, I kept doing this stupid face that Mal has called my "fish face", and she would laugh each time I did it. So now, we're hysterical anyhow, so I keep doing the face, and we're stumbling through Future World, laughing and crashing into things...we were a mess. I sure people thought we were trashed, but it was just weakness from laughing so much, plus being so full and tired. It was just one of those really stupid but really great moments on this trip.

Up Next - Day 8! Check out of Poly, more Kona, the Contemporary (club level!!), some DTD and a Party. Will we have a MK View again? Why do I feel like I'm in a Hitchcock movie? And our last DDP meal at LTT. :guilty: Stay tuned!

I would be hugging and posing with the person who gave me DFP too! I'm sure you aren't the only ones who insisted on taking a picture with them.

I happen to think it's pretty funny that you had your masks drinking at dinner too.

So glad you're getting the picture thing worked out. It's always so fun to see them.

Man, oh man! I think you should just stay away from Epcot next trip!! What the heck is with people?! Maybe they drank to much of the Beverly at Club Cool and it made them all nasty!

I have to say, the DT lady thought it was totally natural that we wanted pictures. And those masks were GREAT fun that day, they ate and drank (mostly drank) their way around the world with us! As for the picture thing....well, photobucket has gotten into the awful habit of only uploading every other photo. So the odds all load, then I have to go through and reselect the evens, and then only every other one of those load, so it's back through again....I have this crazy list of numbers all circled and crossed out on my desk, it's like props from the set "A Beautiful Mind". :lmao:

Man, oh man! I think you should just stay away from Epcot next trip!! What the heck is with people?! Maybe they drank to much of the Beverly at Club Cool and it made them all nasty!

See, I'm starting to think maybe in Epcot I give off a confrontational vibe that people pick up on, and just try and get me to fight! Next time I go, I'll just make a mental note that every time someone in Epcot is mean/aggressive with me, I get an extra drink in World Showcase. It's like a drinking game made just for me! You know that addage about live giving you lemons, and then you cut up that lemon and add it to some vodka and sprite...or at least that's how I remember it! :rolleyes1
