And we had a FAB time :cool1:

We are still suffering from the worst jet lag ever tho :confused3 Never really suffered before but this time we are all struggling to get back to 'normal'....

No doubt I won't get round to doing a trip report, so in brief...

We were VERY lucky with the weather, cool the first two days and the last day but all others were 26/29 degrees - beautiful :goodvibes

Highlights - Nemo the musical, I don't 'do' musicals but this was FAB! The 'Believe' show at Seaworld with Shamu was stunning. Turtle talk with Crush was good fun. Beautiful meal at Olive Garden and not expensive. Discovered 'Bob Evans' restaurants which were so cheap but the food was lovely and the service was great.

The only 'rubbish' experience we had was at Planet Hollywood, we always go for one meal even though we know we are paying over the odds etc but this time the appeal has definately worn off, cramped seating, server kept harassing us to order more stuff etc Don't think we will be going back again....

Anyhoo - we are now thinking that we would like to go again - Feb 2010 - but would like to go for anything up to three weeks and incorporate 2 villas, one back at FG but also one on the coast. We stayed at St Pete's Beach many years ago but I can't remember much about it........

Could anyone offer any advice on if we did a split stay, where to spend our 'relaxing' time? I think we would do 10 days in Orlando first and then plan another 10 days at a villa on the coast? Any ideas as I'm not sure where to start?

Hope everyone is keeping well :goodvibes

We have felt like this for the last couple of times we have been. Don't think we will bother this year. The service was not the best and the music was to loud, unless I am just getting old :confused3

Glad you had an excellent time.

Wecome back. I know the jetlag thing is such a pain and can last a couple of weeks if unlucky.

Feel the same way about Planet Hollywood. Tried to go the one in London on Friday but was shut down.

Enjoy your planning for Feb 2010. best thing to do when back from a holiday is to plan another one.

Welcome home, glad you had such a good time:thumbsup2

Welcome home glad you had a good time.
I love florida villa holidays but couldn't do 10 days at the coast, we don't do relaxing holidays :rotfl: a couple of days and I get itchy feet. Clearwater is nice and not far from Busch Gardens if you get bored of relaxing :rotfl:

Glad you had a good time - happy planning for next year. :)

We only had 1 meal at Planet Hollywood and it was so bad, I vowed never to go back. :sad2:

I would also recommend Clearwater to go to relax but we've only ever stayed at a hotel there, so can't recommend a good villa - sorry.

Welcome back. We too have just returned and the jet lag is a pain. It always seems to be that the kids get over it really quickly while we struggle.
Enjoy planning your next one. I know we are :thumbsup2

Welcome Home!

I hope the jetlag clears soon enough for you all! Shame how when you come back home you suffer more than when you arrive in Olrando, goodness knows why, eh? ;)

Never been to PH, but after the reviews on this thread it doesn't seem we are missing much and will skip this one on our next trip too.

Happy 2010 planning, I'm excited already!

i really struggled this time over there saw 1am 3am 5am..... so am back today and am determined not to sleep to go to bed about 10ish tonight last year we had the 7 hour delayed flight had no jetlag because had no idea what the time was! wish me luck!

We tried to go on the 14th as we where in London for a show but as you said closed. Have found out since it is reopening not far away, Haymarket I think they said in Spring 09

Glad you had a good time.

I find my jet lag depends on what time my flight home is. The later the better then we can sleep better on the plane and stay up when we get back till normal bed time. I have been on evening flights with Virgin and my jet lag isn't a problem compared to what it used to be like on afternoon returns.

Island Garden Villas (.com) on Anna Maria Island is lovely. I've stayed there many times and it really is relaxing. The villa's are lovely and within easy reach of Busch Gardens. The villas are also right by a small private beach which is great for watching the sunset, and you can walk down to the public beach for a great waffle bar :-)

Now I'm missing A.M.I *sniff*
