Wow, I am taking a few minutes to let everyone know we are here, and that its the best ever! Thanks to all the DISers for the planning tips - we couldn't have done it without you. :)

So far, its been hot, hot, hot with no rain. We've only visited the
Magic Kingdom ( I think I got heat stroke - I was headachey and nauseous and dizzy - and I slept from 4pm straight through till 8am!) I don't think it helped that we were up at 4:30am the day before. We had an early flight!!

I feel all better and today was an low key day - we picked up friends from the airport (and paid 4 tolls in under an hour!!) and had a delish lunch, went swimming, went to the La Nouba show (omgosh!! The best event EVER!!!!!!) and then strolled DTD - which I adore. Its so easy to find souvies!! ;)

Tomorrow we are going to Animal Kingdom. I can't wait. (And, I have a hat and a gigantic refillable water bottle this time.)

Just wondering - is it normal to get a little teary at WDW? I am 29 and I cried (just a little tear - or two!) when I saw the castle in MK and saw the princesses. When I met Wendy - I was just enchanted - it was soooooo... magical. I have never been here before and I feel about 8 again. :) I love it here.

We are staying at the Hilton in DTD - very nice, btw... but soon move off site to our Windsor Hills condo. I will try to pop back in. :) Thanks again, disers!!

Oh, and jackjack, your postcard is in the mail! :D

I saw your post, that you had made it!!:yay: :yay: Hurray!! And yes, DH and I both got teary eyed last time we were there. We had just arrived when the show at the castle was about to start. As soon as the characters came out and the show began, Dh and I both started. It was just a perfect moment in time. At the happiest place on earth with my 3 fav. people. It doesn't get any better!!;)
Is it more than you expected?? Hopefully you will get to tour around the entire property. Amazing. Keep us updated.......
Oh, and thanks for the postcard!!:worship:

Try being there for the opening activities and rope drop! I highly recommend it. There'll be a tear or two... and then the park is wide open with no lines for at least an hour or so!!!

Enjoy and keep us posted! Did you see Wishes at MK yet - that is what brings me to tears every time (and seeing the castle as well!). I love hearing first-timer's thoughts, especially when you love it as much as I do!:goodvibes

Heck, I get teary-eyed listening to your excitement!

Know the teary-eyedness very well! You'll find that happens often at WDW. Have a magical time!

Hope to get another update from you soon!

It's those teary moments that maske you pay the big bucks to keep going back.

I might recommend that you go to a few deluxe resorts in the evenings if you have nothing planned for shopping or ice cream. Anyone can go to the resorts and walk around, eat and shop....personally, I would go to Polynesian and watch the sunset or MK fireworks from the beach, and then going and renting a family bicycle at Boardwalk and seeing the EPCOT fireworks is amazing. There's even more magic outside those parks.......

Make sure to post lots about Windsor Hills for me! We arrive there in 10 days!! Sorry abt your heat stroke, but sounds like you are still enjoying the magic. I look fwd to your reports!

Windsor Hills is great but be careful of children's on the slide in the main pool! DD was 7 at the time and just barely tall enough to ride and she flipped half way down the tube and came out he bottom with a goose egg the size of a golf ball on her forehead that needed to be tended to by the lifeguard. I personally would not allow any child under 10 years on it.......

Getting teary eyed is part of the magic !
When I took DS the first time, DH couldn't come because of work obligations.
I got teary eyed at MK seeing the castle does that.
Then got teary again when he was so excited at seeing all of the characters and getting autographs. Than again at the various parades.
Next time we went, DH came with us, and he had never been, we both got teary eyed at seeing the joy it brought to DS.
On our last day, we were watching the parade, and DS said he say Mickey wave at him.
I told him it was because the parade was for him, as Mickey knew it was his last day there.
He totally bought it, and still talks about it.

Wow - today was fun! :) We did Animal Kingdom - and it was Hahhhhhhht!! We first rode the Safari and it was so amazing! I really enjoyed it. I bought a hat at La Nouba on Friday night and it was super necessary. ;) I drank a ton of water and took plenty of breaks - essential for a pasty white Canadian. :)

We left at around three to go check into our Windsor Hills condo - which was way more complicated than it needed to be. My husband and family friend "T" were "navigating" and got us lost and confused in the minivan for THREE HOURS. Finally, I told them to go back to where we WERE, I ASKED someone for HELP and in 20 minutes we were at our condo. Men, please listen to your wives when trying to find something. Its like this little embedded thing we can "do". We just know. Please.

So - checking into the condo was a mess...kinda. I had printed off all the emails from Dave Robinson and his associate/condo manager Donna Craven. Upon check in, they wanted a special code (we needed it to get the keys) and we didn't have one. Apparantly there was an email with SPECIFIC check in instructions. Well, we didn't get one so the condo lady at the office wouldn't help us. She wouldn't even get us Donna's number - until ANOTHER customer of the Robinson's showed up with the SAME issue. She was allowed to log into the office's computer and get Donna's number, she called and we all talked to her and got the numbers we needed. We did try calling Dave and left a message. The message said that the messages left would not be checked quickly - so that was fair. As soon as we got in the phone rang and Dave called to make sure we got in. The condo is AMAZING! So comfy and roomy. Just make sure to get the number to the lock box. That's all!! You'll love the condo and we'll definately come again.

Here's a small tidbit: Did you know that Taco Bell's in the States don't serve fries? Now you do. :)

Tomorrow we're thinking Epcot... I will keep you posted. :) Thanks for reading!!!

I have been to Disney soooooo many times and I still get teary eyed at all kinds of things. Hope you continue to have a good time.

So glad :cloud9: you're having fun!! I also feel that the AK is the hottest park.
We did EEverest and then left, it was so hot. I am not complaining about the weather though as it was gorgeous the whole time we were there.
In fact the water parks were our fave things while there and we're adults!

We were there last week, just got back and I was very teary at the Halloween party, seeing the castle, Spaceship earth, and all the parades.
My husband had to roll w/ the tears of joy from me, then the sad ones when we left. BUT we booked bounceback. I almost didn't read the flyer in the room! Good thing I finally looked at it before check out.

Taco Bell - When I moved to Canada from the US, I was SHOCKED  that the Taco Bell had fries!! Some of the fast food places serve the same food on both sides of the borders, some are different.:goodvibes

Have a wonderful time!!!

edited to add:
p.s. if you can get a couple of cd's w/ music from the parks, that is helping me alot to keep the magic going at home!!
