We're Almost in Orbit - The waiting "room" to access Disney site

OMG This is new. Instead of taking me to the main landing page I got a redirect to a Disney "Waiting Room" since the site is allegedly so so busy!!!! Never ever seen this before in 50 years!

I have had it before. Usually when discounts are released like today. I got it once a little bit ago when I was trying to figure out if either of the new offers saved me much money but it was only a 4 minute wait. Finally chose the dining card one as it saved me a bit (since prices went up after I booked)

Not surprisingly, no discounts on campsites at Ft Wilderness, despite their cost often more than All-Stars. I got the waiting room for a few minutes too.

After taxes, your still paying close to 400-500 per night for these rooms, unless you wanna be in the values. I do like the dining discount card though.

I also like the sound that happens when its your turn to book that the website makes lol

I’ve had this every time a new discount is released or any time I’ve tried to get an AP spot for a preview. I’m impressed you’ve avoided it!

Back in the good old free dining days, you could be in this queue for hours, the day the promo dropped.

Thanks all, this makes sense now! I saw the new room discount drop online earlier this morning. I've been getting reacquainted with Disney's reservtion system and up until last summer had never stayed on property before or bought anything online other than park passes. I've seen slow and just wonky before but this was the first time for the waiting room.

It's common when new offers or tickets are released. I thought it went much faster this time, maybe their IT department is listening!

I was also put in the "waiting room." I wanted to add the dining card so I called and someone answered the phone right away. I was shocked. I was able to book the dining card for early August.

I've had it before and twice again today. I like that it 'dings' when you can enter as I go off and do other stuff while orbiting....then question what is dinging!

Was able to book a dining card offer. Not as much of a savings as free dining used to be but I'll happily take it! For value resorts, the dining card offer is better than room discounts!

First signon attempt Friday and I am enjoying the waiting room again.... Oops ding!

I went online and was not able to change my reservation to the discounted. so I called and was almost immediately connected to a person. I was able to get the discount at POR and saved us over $722 for our 12 night stay.
