We went to the opening of ToT today and were surprised to find that it was not very crowded. The stand-by line
never got over 60 minutes while we there. It reminded me a little of the day DCA opened and my wife and I were
one of the only ones walking around.

Now don't get me wrong, ToT is a good ride and I'm sure it will bring in more guests and that it will be very popular
but I wonder how much affect the ticket price increase ($49.75) and the fact that now DCA is not a "2-fer" anymore.
When you buy a ticket to DCA, you can only go to DCA and I just don't know if DCA is going to draw huge crowds
having just a few rides.

Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

from my of view, it seemed that the park was well attended....we had a blast. the opening patch is cool....

Well, if the 2fer promotion or something similar comes back, I guess we'll have our answer.

In all honesty, TOT is a good ride. It will help DCA. Heck, it can't hurt. But it is ten years old at WDW. IF you really wanted to ride it you could have gone to Florida. I find it all one big yawn.

The fact that the line never got over 60 minutes is a good thing. Could be they're actually moving people through quickly, which was my experience during a pre-opening party. It would be a far bigger problem if the line was 4 hours long and they couldn't move riders through. Also, yesterday was Wednesday - wait for the weekend and see how attendance goes. Better yet, wait til the summer season actually starts.

At about 4:30-5 p.m. the Stand By line was up to 80 mins. when I went back to take a look at the DCA's newest attraction. Quite a few people were pouring over from Disneyland at the time... maybe had their fill in that park for the day and decided to take a gander at the new ride over there afterwards. I didn't wait in the line because I have been on the one at WDW several times, and figure I have all the time in the world to wait for the line to go down at CA Adv., rather than ride it on the opening day.

Disney didn't really do a good job of promoting the fact that it was open on the 5th to people who were at the park already... I believe a lot of people thought that it was still being worked on, or were scared off by all the radio people there - thinking it maybe was for "special" people only.

I think it may make crowds bigger for a month or so... but after that, the lack of attractions there will keep it from being too busy once again.

They need to develop NEW rides and fill up some of the "boring" areas in there! New rides that aren't at WDW or other Disney Parks... new things that make people want to go into that park because they can't get the experience anywhere else.

Sorry for the ramblings! Just got carried away!

With ya WDW Lover, probably more for it than you are!

Disneyland is the ORIGINAL incarnation of Disney and as such it should retain a measure of prestige. Walt was heavily involved with it, the place is known as "The Happiest Place On Earth", etc etc. The place should stand out and apart from WDW - different, not better or worse. Just entirely different :) So... NEW, ORIGINAL RIDES please ;)
