I just read that at a Wendy's in Miami, a manager got shot when he refused to give a customer more chili sauce. The man said he wanted 10 packs, but the manager told him store policy was that he could only get 3, so the man shot him in the arm!:scared1: What is this world coming to?:confused3

Not nearly as bad but back in the late 80's when I was a manager with Wendy's a man threw his entire Triple w/ cheese at me because he wanted extra extra extra extra cheese and we had to charge for each slice. He did not want to pay. I imagine if that had happened in 2007 I would be dead now.

That is just sad. It is not even safe to be doing your job some places. I work in a store and the anger that comes out of people sometimes is unbelievable. I had a person tell me once that "that is how little girls like you get themselves shot everyday" all because I wouldn't let the customer take their beer without counting all the change they put down to pay for it. As it was they overpaid and got over $1.00 back. I got no apology or thank you. I should have let them leave and kept the extra money. The store would have loved it.

I don't understand people who do this kind of thing -- does they guy think he's going to get all the chili sauce he wants when he's in jail??

Here in Miami. The employee had a bullet in his upper arm, and this happened not too far from my house. There was a "security Guard" in the parking lot, but he was asleep, untill the gun went off, than he woke right UP!:sad2: There was also a shooting on South Beach early Monday Morning, 2 people were killed, over something stupid.:confused3 They had about 8 people arrested because the witnesses story's didn't match up, but than they found the guy, he was the one seeing running down the street at 5:00am in the morning.:rolleyes1

He was entitled to the extra 6 packs of chili sauce though, don't you know? His mother told him so... and if they can't get what they want then you are the one that is not worthy of life. :confused3

Am I the only one who finds this funny?

Oh believe me, I know. I lived in South FL for 15 years before moving to Kansas. One of the first things I noticed when I moved is how "fluffy" the news is here compared to the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale/Palm Beach tri-county news. They actually had a TOP STORY here a few months back about a woman who ALMOST got into a car accident! :scared1: Back in FL, that wouldn't have even made the news, there would be too many shootings, murders, fires and whatnot to report.

ITA...how do people justify shooting someone as a reaction to being told they are asking for too much.:confused3 I feel really sorry for that manager and hope that they will fully recover.

Didn't you know chili sauce flows like water in prison?

I'm thinking of shooting somebody so I can indulge in never ending chili sauce. ;)

Could you elaborate? I don’t understand why you think someone getting shot is funny.

It's definitely not funny that someone got shot, but it is funny that someone shot someone over a couple packets of chili sauce. We're talking about chili sauce, not a bag of gold.

...or ketchup/catsup...I hate places that dole out the packets. White Castle handed them out and I had to go up 3 times. I was pretty sure the lady thought I was pocketing them.

Could you imagine how she'd react nowadays?

You were clearly over your 3 pack maximum ketchup allowance. You were within your rights to shoot the server.

Thank goodness the assailant has a right to bear arms and protect himself from the evil chili sauce baron.
