Hmm, so I went to check on a t-shirt order I was hoping would come in by Wednesday, in time to wear it to a meeting. The company said they'd delivered it so I went to check the front door (sometimes we forget to check it).

Stuck to the front door was a small white label with the words "BUG OFF" in big letters and the number 518 written right beside it in small letters.

And no package.

Now, I've been training to do a 5K in our neighborhood for about 3 weeks and taking the GSD (on her leash and wearing her harness, acting like a good dog) and the Border Collie (see above) for the past 3 weeks as well. Other than having a neighbor nearly hit me and the GSD because she wasn't watching the road (We were TRYING to avoid being hit by her too! She's an older lady with a land yacht of an SUV.) and forgetting my plastic poop bag the one day the GSD decided she couldn't wait until she got home (I scooped it up into my socks and carried it until I found an empty box on top of someone's trash can that I put both socks and poop into and then carried the box, the socks, and the poop to our house.) I thought everything was fine.

Apparently, walking and running on the sidewalk with a friendly GSD and a friendly Border Collie is not welcomed by some nutjob in the neighborhood.

Since the individual in question chose to commit an act of theft (Like he/she will be able to wear either of the t-shirts without immediately advertising it's stolen - it's a unique design) and leave me a nasty message, I'm presuming I should call the cops so that I can at least file a complaint against some anonymous neighbor on the off chance the person really is a nutjob and does something to me or the dogs? Or just blow it off as something that a kid did and call my credit card company to see if I have any buyer protection?

Seriously spooked at how mean some people are. . .All I did was try to do the Couch to 5K with my dogs!

uh... all of the above! Call the company and explain it was never received and get detailed shipping info. Then follow up with whatever company "Delivered" it. To confirm whether or not it was ever at your door. Once confirmed notify the authorities & your credit card company. You don't have to acuse anyone but you should report what you found. Postal theft of ANY kind for any reason should not be tolerated. And the note you found on your door smells like a threat to me.
As someone who works in Direct Sales I rely on Fedex, USPS, and UPS on a daily basis to deliver thousands of dollars worth of merchandise to my door, whether home or not. I have never had anything disappear and it disgusts me to hear that this happened to you.
Congrats by the way on doing the couch to 5k! I am in the process of doing that myself (although I am definitely still in the more couch phase due to a knee injury). Hopefully I will make some progress soon :scared1: Oct 2 is not too far away:lmao:
Good Luck! I hope your merchandise gets returned to you safely.

Okay, now I feel ten times stupid and paranoid. I told the DH who laughed and said that yesterday a kid from the upper elementary had come by selling magazines. DH bought one subscription, since it was a neighborhood kid and we almost always buy from them for school drives. The kid had a sheet of those "BUG OFF" signs with his seller # on them. He put it up to tell the other kids he'd already gotten our house, so don't bother the peeps who live there. DH thought it was cute - our seller being so territorial and protective - in a mafia sort of way and let the kid do it. (DH may play too much Mafia Wars, I think. . .)

Now as to our package. . .our house numbers are ON our front porch, but maybe it got misdelivered. I'll give it a day and call UPS if I don't see them tonight.

lo!!! Im sorry but that sounds like something I would do!!!Hope you find your package!

 Thank you for the chuckle, I needed it!

you picked up poop with your socks? did you go home barefoot or shoes with no socks on?

I thought it sounded like you were relating two very disparate events....and turns out you were. I hope your shirts show up today. Maybe a nieghbor got them in error and just hasn't taken the time to bring them over yet.

:rotfl: Glad you figured out part of the mystery! And :lmao: over the poop/socks description!!!

I took off my jogging shoes, pulled off my socks, put my shoes back on, scooped up the poop and turned the socks inside out in the process, so as not to touch it. (GSD poop is BIG and STINKY, if you wanted that tutorial in GSD poop.) :thumbsup2then held ankle part of the socks in one hand while we walked down the street. Yes, it took BOTH socks to contain the poop. :scared1:

My GSD was quite apologetic. Pretty much "Sorrrry. I couldn't hold it any more!" :sad1: expressions. I kept telling her it was all right, everyone's been there once or twice. But you know GSDs. . .hyper responsible, OCD kinds of dogs. At the end of the block some neighbors had put their garbage out a day early and there on top was an empty box from some juice packets! I dumped everything inside. Life was much better then.:woohoo:

When I got in and headed straight for the box of garbage bags to toss my prizes away (No, I did NOT try to recover the socks!) , DH chuckled and told me "yeah, she always poops at around 5:30pm. She's regular that way." Well I'll say! And did I really need to know that my DH knows what the dog's bowel schedule is?

Now we don't go run/walking unless I can get her back in time to poop in her own yard, or I've seen her go before we head out, and, of course, I've never forgotten to bring a poop bag again!

Oh, the shirts showed up today on the back porch. I think they must've gotten delivered to a neighbor's. The mail services are bad about that around here. (I once had 20 or so boxes left in a neighbor's garage instead of mine by UPS! 20!) We all just take it in stride and put the packages where they belong.

:rotfl2: Ok, this killed me. I had to read it outloud to my DH and he cracked up, saying, "well, at least we know there are people out there that understand..." We have two GSDs and I swear all my female one ever thinks is "I am a good dog" or, "Oh dear, I am a bad dog." in response to every situation. :rotfl:
