WELL written article!

My worst CC experience has to be First National Bank of Omaha!! I got the World of Warcraft Visa when it first came out and it's through them. A couple months after getting the card I decided to take advantage of the low APR and transferred a balance from my other card. When I checked to see if the balance transfer completed I noticed I was charged an over the limit fee. I always leave room for the balance xfer charge so I was surprised. Then I looked at my limit...they had dropped it. Next day I got a letter in the mail stating they periodically review accounts and based on lack of activity decided to lower my balance. The date of the letter was a day before I did the xfer.

A few months later I get a letter that they were closing my account due to lack of activity and a late payment (by 2 days). Didn't bother me in the least as I had already decided right after the last incident I wasn't going to keep it. Well almost a year later I got a new card in the mail with a new expiration date. Uhm, they closed my account, what do I need a new card for? Evidently they didn't close the account afterall.

My CRAZY lifestyle consists of us raising a 14 year old, putting her through school, braces, grocery shopping, paying the mortgage, paying taxes, planning our Disney trip, cleaning the house, working every day...yeah, crazy right? The only difference between us and most of our straight friends, is I sleep with another woman. That's it. Nothing crazy. And as for agenda? Did we miss something at the GAY MEETINGS? I mean, remind me again, when I took my secret oath, as a gay woman, I'm supposed to be doing what?? Agenda? Nobody told us that. Sorry to burst that bubble, there are NO meetings, NO agenda, no evil plans against OUR children. Nope, nothing as exciting as that. Just honest, tax paying Americans, trying to live the dream.

And don't forget -- all gay people know each other. Like I could say to you "I have a friend Bob, who's gay, who lives in Maine. You know Bob right?" :rotfl:

"I have a friend Bob, who's gay, who lives in Maine. You know Bob right?"

Hey! I know BOB!!! Well, actually his name is Rob, but I know him. Well, I waved to him once, and he lives in Florida, but I used to live in Maine.

Does that count?

I'm still gay, right?

My wild and crazy "gay" lifestyle is work, cheerleading, baseball, karate, pre-school, teaching Sunday Schooll at a UCC and 3rd grade homework.

I don't even think I'd quality as gay anymore:rotfl2: - really... sex - what the heck is sex with 4 kids 8 and under. :rotfl:

Mr. Z, it is basically just not being able to count on that credit line. I keep up with the Chase threads on the Budget forum. I have read a TON of posts where people had their credit lines cut and Chase never told them. One lady's DH was out of the country on business and they cut his credit line. She called and they told her "tough". She had even phoned before he left to alert them to the fact that he would be traveling and there would be transactions from out of the country. Chase is sneaky.

Just to be fair, we don't know that people always give the whole story on the DIS. But keeping that in mind, I have also been reading the news articles about the new rules etc. They ALL have anecdotes of people with terrific credit having their credit slashed, having cards closed, etc. There was an article this week about Chase specifically, saying they will be cutting credit lines, not offering low APR transfers (which I can attest to, because I used to get those transfer checks every couple of weeks). I am checking our accounts online every day in the hopes of catching any changes.

If Chase does do something to your credit line they are notoriously nasty to deal with. If you call, they don't care. :confused3

They raised the purchase APR on both of our cards last year, and I called and spoke to a supervisor who said he couldn't lower them. APRs went up across the board, they don't have the authorization to lower anyone's APR, blah blah blah.

Thanks for the heads up.

Due to the economy and the federal regulations that recently went into place for credit cards, I know a lot of CC companies slashed limits, closed accounts, raised rates. My partner had his Amazon Chase card limit cut in half without warning, taking him to zero available limit, which of course decreases your credit score. I had a couple other companies lower limits some and two raise rates before the law went into effect. Guess it could happen with any of them.

Ok, sorry to highjack this thread. Back to talking about the wonderful article. :)

Sorry Mr. Z. Missed your question.

But yes, what 'girl said in spades. My wife had her chase card closed because she hadn't used it in a certain period of time. We were not impressed. Same thing with the raising of rates, and cutting of limits. We have killer credit thankyouverymuch and take it quite seriously.

Once we are done with a small balance we'll be stuffing the chase in the drawer never to be seen again.

Then BofA is next on my list. I could go on for HOURS about their lousy service (and I'm sorry for your big BofA, I hope it's good for you :teeth: ) but I'll try to contain myself.

Thanks for the link.

My life is just as exciting. Tonight I stayed late at work because it's quarter end. DP is at Irish Dance with DD. DS is in the van with DP doing his home work.

I'll go home, help finish homework, help with showers, tuck kids in and then maybe do some dishes and run a load of laundry. And don't forget walking the dog.

Woo...Hoo:cool1:

(and I wouldn't have it any other way, unless I could be at WDW right now)

I know, CRAZY "lifestyle"...gimme a break, its' called LIFE! ;)

I have yet to receive any of such "prizes" after having converted others!!!!!

:lmao:

If I recruit for your team do I get a bonus? ;)

You really should get at the very least a Tshirt! :cheer2:

Gosh, I've recruited many and not even received a toaster.....

Christy keeps telling me about this toaster thing.;)

I'm banking my points for a kitchenaid mixer! :thumbsup2

Good idea, save up for a really COOL prize! ;)

I giggled.

Somewhere, the Tag Fairy WISHES she could post that one!!

And don't forget -- all gay people know each other. Like I could say to you "I have a friend Bob, who's gay, who lives in Maine. You know Bob right?" :rotfl:

I have actually had people say, " You work at such & such, you MUST know Bob, right?" Really? Are you serous?? :scared:
