Just a tip for the Radisson Barcelo- I've stayed there twice; the first time in the "Tower" which was brilliant- couldnt fault the room at all. We were given a non "Tower" room upon arrival the second time around and found the room to be very dirty and generally not as good as we had on our previous visit. It's advisable to check that you have got a Tower room and if necessary, upgade as we did second time around for something in the range of $20- $40 per night if I remember rightly.

Glad to hear everything's sorted out- its in a GREAT location!

Great news Rob - it must be a relief to have got it all sorted!

Thanks for the motivation and help Sue :)

Splash,

I am aware of this, i do have problems with an asthma brought on by damp aged rooms that are dusty. I will put the extra money we saved behind to negotiate on arrival. We arrive late evening so hopefully all of the standard rooms will have been assigned. Some people have secured them for as little as $5 a night and many for $12 a night. I have already e-mailed the manager about my condition to see if this may prove a little sway in the room we have been assigned.

We could have gone for the BW Movieland or the QI Int for about the same price. The BW Movieland has no fridge which is an essential for us so was no good.

We go on 8th October to the 28th.

We plan to take the first couple of days in Disney then activate the 5 park flex and take advantage of that fully then finish off with a flurry back in Disney. Little more relaxed now.

Great news ~ Sounds as though you will have a fantastic time.

Quick update.

Contacted US Air today to get seat assignments, their seat pitch in the A333 is 34 inch throughout cattle, being 6 ft 1in this will be a big bonus. Their 757 internal flight is either 31 or 32 so matches virgin atlantic. The seat backs have the cartoon network, disney channel and Nickelodeon for the kids with 2 movies for them, BBC world, HBO sports and other US channels are on and there is 4 grown up films that you can pause/rewind etc. That should whittle away the time nicely. Only thing is that on the US Air site they say earphones are provided but in a brochure I read you pay for them. Worthwhile purchase if needed I think.

Wouldnt mind a quick visit to DLP myself, where you staying Reid ?

At the moment it is Holiday Inn again. We would like to have tried onsite but with youngest now 3 we need two rooms or suite. Both of which for 1 week stay is just too expensive :guilty:

Have you tried costing the new Explorers Hotel, it's only 10 mins by coach not that far from the others onsite I dont think, but not owned by Disney, so it is much cheaper, the rooms there are called crew quarters, and are much bigger than the normal Disney rooms, I think they sleep up to 6 people.

Just a thought.

$5 for the headphones in coach for the in-flight entertainment. Free (better ones but just loaned) in business class!
