Re what my bank gave me:
I have those reward points with my debit card through my bank and they double them for my dues withdrawal, and I usually get mastercard gift cards with the points.
They also gave me an upgrade on my account to ANY free checks, not just the basic bank ones. So now I get my Tinkerbell checks for free.
I went to the notary at the bank when I signed the papers and he asked me about DVC, after I told him and mentioned the autopay, he did all this for me (he is also the bank manager and my parents had one of the first accounts there back when it was Rochester Savings and had 1 branch in our area).
Not a huge amount, but the points will be enough to get us an extra $75 gift card once a year, and I usually buy checks twice a year at like $20-something a pop, so doing autowithdrawal gives us a $120 bonus each year. Not overly fabulous, but not too shabby either.
I am a good girl with the Mastercard gift cards, too, I usually use them to pay on any bill that I can do an instant payment on, like our cable or cell bills. Otherwise, I told DH, we would just buy junk that we didn't need with them, which is not a "savings."
I can't wait for our BWV trip in September, but I know our first "home" trip to SSR in Feb will be even better.
And I have to mention this....every time I call MS for anything, they always remark "Wow, you did your homework" or "Gee, you really picked up on the system fast" I always tell them I had help from DVC'ers on the DIS!!!
