We did it. We ended up buying less points than we were going to, but we joined!

We found a card with 0% APR til 1/07, paid cash for the bulk and put the excess on the card, which we will pay off by October. :teeth:

I also found out if I set up my dues as a recurring payment through my bank, I get a few freebies, too.

So happy days all around!!! We will add on later, but we wanted to get in before any increase and before the closing costs, while avoiding financing too much. Our paperwork is on its way here as I type and we are so excited we are about to explode!! :teeth:

Thanks to everyone who was so helpful about the financing options. The card was a great idea, although I told DH it is getting cancelled after we pay it off.

We are set on points for our 2 week February trip, so we can wait to add on until we have the cash to pay outright for it. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Now you all have to put up with me permanently!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Congrats and Welcome Home!! :cool1: :cheer2:

Enjoy your many trips to come :sunny:

I just went through this in the last few weeks and receiving the docs you described from the Closing group does not necessarily indicate passing ROFR. MY TSS person said it would be 1-3 wks to get through ROFR and I heard from TSS directly (by phone in my case) as soon as they knew the ROFR status of my contract. I'm sure you will have good news soon! pixiedust:

Congrats and welcome to DVC........If I remember correctly you had some interesting answers to your financing question. I think you made a great decision.........

Congrats, Steph! Someone on page one made a comment about passing ROFR but you bought SSR right from DVC, right? So, that doesn't pertain to you.
I just received my final papers to sign and need to wire money (we bought resale). I am also excited to call DVC "home".

I am wondering if anyone (or you) knows more about the quote above. We'll be paying 1/2 of 2006 dues when we wire on Monday but I am wondering about this set-up you speak of for next year. Any info?

:goodvibes Welcome home! :goodvibes

I just stayed at Saratoga Springs last night for the first time in a 2 bedroom, yes - only one night and I wish I were still there! It was fabulous and I love, love, love this resort! I will love it even more when it cools off and I can walk the grounds and walk to DTD. You made the right choice. :thumbsup2

Brenda- Congrats to you too!!! We went direct through Disney, but I think you can set up to pay your dues on a monthly basis through Disney even if you buy resale. We just thought it would be better as a monthly expense, rather than a bulk payment once a year! So we will pay monthly, and I can do autopay through my bank, where they basically just pay the dues bill on its due date every month. Our bank is Citizen's, but I am sure others do this too, and I think Disney may be able to do an autowithdrawal too??

Thanks to everyone for the welcome homes. I booked our Feb trip today and I am so excited!! We were going to stay at OKW, but on the advice on another thread on here, we decided to stay our first trip home AT "Home."

We will be trying out OKW next fall on our MNSSHP trip. :teeth:

This excitement is kind of scary. LoL DH says he can see me throwing my arms around the FedEx man on Monday!! :rotfl:
