it's been ages since i have posted or even read this forum but i guess i'm back-- for now. i could barely remeber how to use this forum, it's been so long!!! hope all is well with everyone!!
okay, here we go. we are going to HHI for the last week of august and i didn't realize that Myrtl was so far away. seems like georgia is closer. my boys are all that much older now and ,of course, now they care about what they wear and , of course , don't care how much it costs 'cause good ol' dad has that money tree still goin' , right?! where can we go for shopping when we are onn the island? i don't mind driving but the 4 hrs to myrtle is going to be a bit too much.
please give me any/all links for shopping( as i said, i'm prepared to go to georgia -- if i have to) , and dining that are within a couple of hrs from HHI.
any ideas are appreciated as well.

What exactly are you looking for clotheswise that would be at Myrtle Beach or even in GA that is not on HHI????? They have a mall right in Shelter Cove where the Disney resort is plus there are outlets of any brand name you can imagine 10 minutes off the island right on the main rd. that takes you in and out of the island. They have clothing boutiques with cool t-shirts, golf shirts etc. in walking distance of the resort in the Shelter Cove Harbour. There are many shopping areas on the island.

You also asked about dining. There are loads of restaurants all over the island. About 5 sit down places are within an easy walk of Disney's resort. At check-in you will receive a restaurant magazine filled with places on the island to check out. It will be hard to decide!

thanks for the replies minnieg ! i guess i was looking for some premier stores and outlet malls if available. that mall just off the island: is it a big mall, strip plaza, or an outlet mall? like i said my kids are getting picky about clothing(could be worse!) and so i was thinking american eagle, aeropostle,holister...

The outlet mall in Bluffton is a Tanger Premium Outlet. Stores include Polo, Banana Republic, Gap, and J Crew. Here's a link: http://www.tangeroutlet.com/hiltonhead. There's also an Old Navy nearby.

HHI has fantastic dining and plenty of shopping. There is an indoor mall right next to the HHI resort plus the previously mentioned outlet malls. Plus you're within 30 minutes of Savannah, which has as much dining and shopping as anyone would want. If that's not enough, you're an hour and a half from Charleston.
