It is 9C (48F) here this morning at 9am. It is raining out - but not a nice summer rain, it looks like the nasty cold rain you get in the Fall. :scared: It is miserable. Summer doesn't seem to have taken hold here at all this year.

I'm going to make bread and cinnamon buns and pizza today so the house will be all warm and smell lovely. Maybe that will make me feel more cheerful.

:sunny: Wishing you some sunshine. Your post made me shiver just reading it. I don't like to be cold. The fresh warm breads sound lovely though......I love the smell of fresh baking bread.:goodvibes

Wow 48 Brrrr LOL

Tue I think it was 97 with a fell like 104

But I can take the heat way better then the cold.

Stay warm :thumbsup2

Hang on, slow down, let me get a pen. I want to write this down on my list....

Places not to move to:
Iran
Iraq
Antarctica
Alberta

;););)
JK! But I HATE cold weather. Hang in there

I know, it doesn't sound like a very nice place to live does it? And in the grip of a loooong and COLD winter I agree. Summers used to be very hot and dry but lately it hasn't been very warm for very long in the summer. There is a saying here that we only have two seasons Winter and Stampede Week (as in Calgary Stampede) or 8 months winter and 2 months bad skiing. Or how can you tell you're an Albertan - because your snowshoes and golf clubs are always in the trunk. And then there is the ever present threat every summer of hail, plough winds and tornados. We are moving to British Columbia :lmao:

Back to my baking. :thumbsup2

That's awfully cold for the summer. Canada is such a beautiful place... why does it have to be so cold?!

Note to self. Never move to Central Alberta. It is way too cold!!!!

Now that is my kind of weather :thumbsup2
I'd take 48 degrees over 90 any day.

You could send us a bit of that cold rain. It's like 88 degrees with unbearable humidity, and tomorrow it will be 90 but probably feel like upper 90s! I'm getting tired of the heat!

I told my DH last night I refuse to turn on the heat, it's only August, we will survive...by 10:00 last night I reconsidered my original plan.

We hit the 40s around here nearly every night in the summer - but that the joy of living at 8,500 feet.:thumbsup2

We always try to milk it as long as possible without turning on the furnace. When the house get warmed up, we clsoe the windows in the evening to trap in the warm air and ride out until morning. It's usually not much colder than high 60s in the house by then.
All of us who who live in the high altitudes or high latitudes like the OP know that there are often only two seasons - Winter and July!

You can add Montana to your list.

Our high today was 56 which set a record for the "lowest maximum daily high" ever recorded on this date. We had the nasty cold wet drizzley rain too. YUCK.

Sighing.:surfweb: I'm in Canada with my A/C flowing - with 90s this weekend.

OP - at least you're surrounded by beautiful scenery and now wonderful smells in your house. Yum. Hopefully, tomorrow is warmer. :flower3:

I wish we were there. It is 100+ degrees with 100% humidity. Feels like an oven outside. We are in a drought also in Texas. No rain in sight. Just a few drops here and there.

I would take the cold over heat any day.:thumbsup2

:eek:Is this a sign of global cooling?

Count me in the 'I like cold' crowd. IMO, you can always add more layers if you're cold, but people get sick when I remove too many layers in the summer.
