You all probably don't remember me but we are Disney addicts, but decided to go for 8 days to UO last August and posted here to get plenty of info from all you UO experts. Well we were booked at WDW for this year and just cancelled and booked 8 nights at UO 9/26-10/4.

Last year we rented a car, but since we aren't renting this year, I'd like to know what are the options to get from MCO to UO and back? Any help is greatly appreciated. We are a family of 4 if that helps.

TIA!!!

I remember Ron !

(Our dates overlap this year)

Private car service with Tony would be $100 rt and free grocery stop

The star shuttle is rt per person
But it can stop at other hotels before your drop off

Believe uber is allowed now at mco

macraven, you and everyone else here made me feel like an expert when our trip finally arrived last year. We stayed at RPR and had a great time and never stepped foot on WDW property. This year we are staying at PBR. We got a great deal with the Splash, Stay and Play Vacation Package. We were booked at WDW until today when we decided to switch to UO. We had already purchased tickets to Disney's Halloween party so that night will be the only time we set foot on WDW property this year. Remember we are huge WDW fans but will be going 2 straight years to UO. Now I just have to get reacquainted with everything about UO again.

While I have your attention what do you think of the full meal plan? If I remember last year they only had the quick service one. Is the full plan worth the money?

TIA.

Sorry to hijack but is this for all types of uber? Uber black has been allowed for a long time, but they'd restricted uberX from picking up.
I'm hoping that ban has been lifted

EDIT:
It looks like uber select is still the lowest type of uber allowed.
E.g. To go from RPR to MCO is $17-$22 but the other way around is $50-$60

I have to apologize I didn't see the sticky on the resorts board. Thanks damo.

No apology needed. We direct people to the stickies all the time. You'll find all of Tony's info hidden in there somewhere!!! I'd start at the end of the thread and work backwards.

From Uber's website

Drop offs @ MCO: If you plan on taking an Uber to Orlando International Airport, choose from

uberX, uberXL, UberFAMILY, or UberSELECT.

Pick ups @ MCO: When leaving the airport, you can choose between

UberSELECT or UberFAMILY.

OP

There is a link of their website for $15 off your first ride. If you know somebody who uses them, there used to be a referral system that benefited both parties. Not sure if it's still ongoing or not.

Transportation board has lots of info too via search

Many here go both ways:daisy:and enjoy different parks, often via a split trip. It's cost effective for us as to our travel patterns.

Have fun planning

We are going the same time of year. Our group of four (adults) chose Super Shuttle. I looked into cabs, transport services, town cars, and rentals. Uber was a bit complicated and more expensive due to permits they are required to purchase. Super shuttle was $95 for round trip transport from MCO to our hotel and back for all of us. You can even put a tip if you wish before you go. I like spending what I can prior to arrival so it gets spread over a period of time. I'm not sure, but I think the shuttle will also stop at a store to allow you to purchase snacks for your room.

Not sure if you booked their standard shuttle or not/pp or booked private for whole vehicle.

Might want to check to see if super shuttle will leave when you 4 arrive or you have to wait for the van to fill...our experience with them @ MCO and other airport locations.

Haven't heard of them stopping for grocery stop either, would be nice though if they did

I did not order a private vehicle, but if we have to wait that is okay with us. We get in at 8 in the morning, and cannot check in until the afternoon, although we do plan to drop off our bags then explore. Some of the prices were so outrageous, I went for the most economical I could find.

Also note that if you have an American Express gold or platinum card, you can get monthly Uber discounts of up to $15 if you link your Amex to your Uber count as the primary card.

No idea of that. Can't say I'm comfortable giving uber access to my platinum Amex though. Typically use a different CC for misc travel that doesn't have a huge line of credit. I'm gun-shy, Have had my share of CC fraud when traveling to MCO area, how the crooks manage to discern what's available for spending on the CC is beyond me.:confused3

That's a common arrival time, you won't be waiting long

My experience with using Amex as a travel card couldn't be better. I configure their app to give me instant on-screen notifications of EVERY charge while I'm traveling, which means I can instantly dispute a charge or suspend my account within the app. It's worked quite well for me over MANY trips to MCO and ever more CC theft centric areas.. Again, that's my experience. Different people have different comfort levels with such things and I completely understand traveling with a card with a $600 limit or whatever. Plenty of people do that.
