if we leave before rol we'll we regret it

I am just overly concerned about fighting the crowds to get to the front of the park plus getting on a over crowded bus is enough to send my anxiety though the roof

Why not just hang back and let the crowds get a head start? What's the point of fighting your way to the front of the park?

The only way you'll know if you missed something is to sit through the show. People have different opinions on everything.

So we can wait for the crowds to die down to almost nothing and take the last bus ?

Yes the buss run as along as someone is in the park, I have left MK about 3 hours after closing and was one of the last people out. You may get on a Bus with other of other resorts but you will get back to your resorts

THIS! My daughter and I closed MK down one evening and left a little over an hour after closing. At our resort bus stop, there was an all-white, unmarked Charter bus waiting. We, along with a few others we watched board after us, each stopped to ask the driver where the bus was headed. The driver assured us all he was headed to our resort and we had the nicest, most comfortable ride back in plush charter seats with the A/C rolling! Disney will get you back to your resort.

I am not sure if you where paying attention but did it have a ramp for a ecv

YES! That's actually a strategy that I highly recommend! We usually stay until park closing, but once the park closes, we hang around and get a snack, then find a seat and relax for about an hour after the park closes. Then we walk out to the bus and have no crowds to deal with. And sometimes, if you wait long enough, they ask you which resort you are heading to and point you to a bus that is waiting, at a place that's closer than the regular stops. It's much less stressful. After all, wouldn't you rather be waiting sitting down in the park having a snack than standing in a line at the bus stop, surrounded by tired and cranky people?

My last trip, I almost always closed the parks. For me it's not worth an asthma attack trying to leave with everyone else. As soon as people leave the park they light up. In the dark with so many people around I have know idea where it's coming from or how to avoid breathing it in.

I've even had CM's reminding me the park is closed. Quiet busses back to the resort, sometime just us. Then we get to chat with the driver.

Crowds leaving AK after RoL aren't bad at all imo. It's nowhere like MK.

The crowd disperses good since you have people splitting to catch buses, tram, or walk to their car.

You could definitely stay to see RoL and then leave without fighting a crowd

This is one of my favorite parts about driving to the parks. In January my mother, niece and I had a late reservation at Yak and Yeti at AK. If memory serves we walked out of there nearly an hour after park closing. Then we took a nice leisurely stroll to the front of the park. Mom and my niece hopped a tram back to the truck and enjoyed the walk. No crowds trying to get to the exit or to the tram and there were no lines waiting for busses.
