The DAY people.. how was the day??? Dirty minds!

What did you do? Did you stay at home and relax? Go out and have a good time?

What did you get? What did you give?

Come on... Dish!!

I worked from 8am-7pm so we didn't go out but we did exchange gifts the night before.

I got DH a ton of his favorite candy (Ghiradelli, reeses, etc) and filled up this cute Valentine "cereal" box that we sold at Hallmark this year. I also got him a DVD, some jeans and a headset for his cellphone.

He was extra good to me this year (read: he has really been working my nerves lately ::yes::   ) He got me a couple of DVD's, a plush dog named Murphy (I had an Irish Wolfhound named Murphy when we met) a heart box of Russell Stover chocolate covered nuts (which I told him he was to hide from me and allow me only one a day) and a ring with a Mystic Fire Topaz stone. I had seen them only once before and thought they were pretty the way they change from green to purple.

LOL,

Well, Valentine's Day we spent the day helping my parents move, Valentine's night we went to Old Country Buffet (HURL!!!). I hate that place.

Then DH spent the evening doing homework, while I played on the web.

Then about 2:30 in the morning, I got some action. DD, 5, started threw up in her bed, and threw up and had you know what till about 6 am.

So, DH and I spent all night cleaning up. He did the vomit and I did the other.

Very romantic:p .

Now, I bet we get it tonight!

It was no different to any other day of the year.....just another day

It was nice mostly because DD was so excited about it this year. I don't know what it is about being 4 but holidays seem to be really exciting for her this year. Anyway, I ended up making a surf and turf dinner rather than getting Outback to go. Mostly because neither of us felt like driving to get it. DH gave me flowers, chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate lotion from the Hershey Spa (very yummy and no calories). I gave DH green M&Ms ;) and some valentines boxers from Old Navy. DD made cookies for DH and valentines for both of us.

DH and I were in Phoenix and our flight left for Michigan at 6:40pm. We spent the day driving around in a convertible with the top down enjoying the sunshine.

BWA HA HA HA! Did I get anything? Mm...well, here's a question for you:

If someone gives you a gift that their mother picked out, paid for, kept at her home, and did not physically see until it was given to the intended receiver....does that make that gift a gift from the MOTHER or THEM? Hmm....:scratchin

That's what happened, and while I love my heart necklace, I was a little annoyed that my bf had no real hand in picking the item out and didn't even SEE what it was until about 15 minutes before he gave it to me. While it was a "gift from him" he did not pick it out, purchase it, etc. But all in all, there are much more important things in life...I did spend the day with my daughter, and we made Valentine's cards :) :) :) princess:

Dh got me flowers and candy. Then we went to a winery and had a nice lunch outside. We did some shopping and he bought me a nice piece of art for the wall.
Then we went to a bar had a drink and ordered dinner to go.
Very nice day.:)

My DH gave me a beautiful card along with a Pooh/Piglet snowglobe. He also gave me a DVD which DS8 picked out (Freaky Friday).

Then later on, we went out to dinner with a musician friend who was in MI from LA to perform with Jazz Guitarist Peter White, at a special Valentine's Show at a nearby hotel.

We went to the concert & mingled with the other family members of the musicians. It was lots of fun.

I gave DH a card and candy, and I got "O" in return......hmmm somethings wrong with this picture.

My boyfriend came to visit me and brought me a dozen red roses. We hung out for a while until I had to leave for recruitment.
We are going to continue celebrating this weekend when I head to his house for my other gift.

I gave him a stuffed teddy bear that had a t-shirt on which said "Someone from DePauw University Loves Me"

Stepharoonie!, well you definitely got a Valentine's gift - but it sounds to me like it was from his mother. ;)

My Valentine's Day was amazing - the best one I can ever remember. My man, who I have been dating 9 months, had chocolate-covered strawberries, wine, and a dozen roses waiting for me. The roses have THE longest stems I have ever seen. He even made me dinner...it doesn't get any better than that!

:bounce: :Pinkbounc  :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Boring and uneventful.

The romance is gone.

DH sent me flowers. We spent the weekend taking care of our 3 children whom all had the stomach flu on different days. Friday, Saturday and now Sunday. I want a vacation!

Lori

We had a great day together as a family. We decided to go into Boston for the day. We toured Fenway park, we have never taken the tour. It was really nice but we did not like the tour director.

Then we went to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area. I like to go there and browse. It was fun he got his sports fix and I got my shopping fix.

Another note: the tour guide who we didn't like was not our only bad experience with service this day. I know people say Boston people aren't nice or what not. But we have never had this kind of thing happen. We went to one of our favorite Boston restaurants and the waitress was down right rude. It was like everyone there was mad they had to work on Valentines day or something.

I ended up alone for most of it, except my ex came over and we went through medical receipts he needed for the taxes.

I had a great Valentine's Day....without DH or the kids. They went indoor cabin camping for the weekend and I had the house to myself. A rare treat in itself.

I was so excited to have a day to myself I woke up at 5 AM. Worked on my scrapbooks and when I went out, I was able to leave my stuff scattered all over the kitchen table. It was even all there when I returned!! Imagine that.:teeth:

I only went out to run the boys cars in the Pinewood Derby race. DS9 took first place for speed in the Bears level -- for the 3rd year in a row (I had hoped someone else might win for a change we're starting to feel a bit  by the whole thing). DS3 took 4th place for design which was really a sympathy trophy -- his car did really bad as far as speed and his design was nothing compared to some of the others. But, he was the youngest in the pack to enter a car. Our Scoutmaster said they look out for the youngest kids (I'm sure it doesn't hurt that we've been den leaders for several years too).

I started watching a movie last night but could not keep my eyes open. I woke several times at the end of the DVD and rewound it to the part I had been awake to see but just couldn't make it.

Being the nice friend that I am, I babysat my friend's two boys last night. My DD 10 and I slept over. 3yo boy and 5month old boy. Her and her husband went to a hotel for the night. Got a nice Valentines day package etc.

Well, when I went to her house, she said to me (NOW GET THIS) You don't have anything else to do today anyways!

Ok really really mad and hurt now.

She's lucky I didn't just leave. I laughed it off.

WOULD YOU SAY THIS TO YOUR BEST FRIEND?????

Let me clarify something. I DO NOT NEED A MAN TO MAKE ME HAPPY! I am very happy in my life right now like it is. I have a WONDERFUL daughter and we love each other very much. Valentines day is about love of any kind, not just of a man and woman (or whatever floats your boat).

Thanks for listening. I like all of you. You don't say mean things to me :(

I had a nice day...I had to work, but my DH sent me a dozen Tulips to my work! :) They are beautiful! :)

That was very generous of you to help out your friend.

I wouldn't have said that to a best friend or just a friend. Not very nice. I know I wouldn't extend the offer again in the future. I think your friend needs to find someone else who has "nothing else to do" to watch her kids. JMHO

My DH gave me a dozen roses and a huge balloon. It was a sweet gesture, but we are the parents of a DS whose engagement ended 10 days ago and the wedding for March 27 is off - so as nice as the roses and big balloon were - I promptly placed them in our bedroom so they would not be a constant reminder that it was Valentine's Day. So DH, DS and I grilled steaks at home and also had scallops wrapped in bacon. Yum Yum It was a nice Valentine's Day, but there was a damper on it due to DS's somber mood. He has been gong out with friends, but for that evening he decided to spend it low-key with his parents rather than go out and see tons of couples dining out.
