Well This Makes Me a Little Uncomfortable...

It's a shame that this girl and her mother had their vacation ruined. This alleged groper must be very stupid to think he could get away with this.

I am not quite sure what to make of it. I am not so sure I believe it.

If true, it sure would not impact my going, or suggesting to anyone, to not go anywhere there in Disney. If I did, I would stay in my house all my life and suggest the same for others. Again, if true, it was AN incident.

The problem I see with this story is that both the mom and daughter waited until they left the park to say anything to one another...and then it took them another 8 days to tell WDW. A little fishy sounding to me.

I know of too many friends/relatives who have been molested to NOT believe this.

As for staying out of Toon Town, I won't, but I'll pay A LOT more attention around my 3 girls.

Maybe they wanted to meet with them separately and she's underage and needs a guardian with her

Not wishing to appear a skeptic, I'd be interested in knowing whether these people are asking Disney for money related to the incident. If someone did that to me, they would hear about it instantly. I can understand why a 13 year old girl would be reluctant to say anything, but why didn't the mom speak up right away. Besides, they always have another CM with them. They could have said something to that CM. I also don't understand what possible thrill the guy could have gotten out of it wearing those big gloves! Disney is a prime target for people with dollar signs in their eyes!

Feralpeg, I think we all think about the money aspect when we hear about someone suing Disney for anything.

But this piece of information was WITH the report that was on the Orlando Sentinel website. This nails it for me, and I'm usually VERY skeptical about this stuff. EXTREMELY skeptical I might add. The guy admits to having someone take photos of him while he did this to other people.
He certainly may have been in other costumes I would guess as well.

It doesn't make me scared to go to Disneyworld however. It just makes me a bit more cautious. I'm really pretty easygoing about letting my grand daughter be off on her own a bit and I guess I'd just be a little more watchful.

If this guy just never got caught before he would have slipped by any background checks they would have done. This is most probably an incident that you can be sure will never be repeated. Disney just can't afford the negative publicity. It does make me wonder though what process they use in picking CMs to be in costume.

reagardless if this is true or not...does anyone know how extensive the background checks are on potential employess?

meaning - they wouldn't hire a child molester to be a character, right?

A "convicted" child molester I'm sure is what you mean.

This guy was probably never convicted of anything.

Dopes anyone else remember a post not too long ago about a mom and dd and them being touched inappropriately by a character? I don't remember it being Tigger though... it may be a separate incident but I remember something very similar. Oh! the father was a cop or high in the police department or FBI or some such.

I remember it a few months back. I think it was either Chip or Dale that it was about.

WOW...this guy has not yet been convicted and a web page gives his home address? That seems incredibly irresponsible to me. There is something weird about this story.
