This morning, a neighbor came to our front door. Seems that our cat has been treed by a dog............and can't seem to get down!
Sabrina has only been up a tree one other time......and DH needed to climb the tree to get her down!
I go out, hoping to be able to "talk" her down. No such luck!
Of course, the dog still barking at the tree is not helping matters any! Finally, the dogs owner came out of their house and took him back inside. I had my DD go in our house and get my DS to get the ladder out of the shed and pass it over the fence. I now am staring up this huge pine tree, know I have to go get Sabrina down! I have NEVER climbed a tree before in my life!!!
I climb the ladder, to the very top, and the cat is still higher than I can reach. That leaves me no choice but for ME to get in the tree!! There I am, in shorts and bare feet, climbing a pine tree! This whole time I am thinking I'll be able to get the cat down, but the fire department will be coming out to get me out of the tree!!
I finally reach the cat, manage to unattach her feet from the branches and my intentions were to pass her down, branch by branch, til I am able to get back on the ladder and hand her down to my kids. I got her down 2 branches, but on my third attempt, her collar slipped off her neck and she fell (safely) to the ground. She took off like a bat, with my kids chasing her.............leaving ME in the tree!! (at least my neighbor stayed with me!) As you can tell......I managed to get down...........and aside from a number of scratches and scrapes from the pine tree.............and some really sore muscles(!!) I'm ok. Sabrina is back home as well. I hope she is able to get all the sap off her fur! Otherwise, it's the tub for her!!
The things we do for our furbabies!
