Well that was fast - Disney sending me my welcome letter

Just got my welcome letter today for our DVC contract at SSR (135 points) Our contract closed on Dec 12, registered at the comptroller on the 15th and I was assuming it would be awhile before I heard about my membership number. I called today thinking, hey I know its only been a week but why not and to my surprise they had my member number ready to go, got access to the website, and the points were already in my account. Not only that but later in the day I checked the mail and my letter with my member number arrived from Disney today as well! I assume, judging by the fact that people report it can take 2 weeks to get a member number, and even longer to get their letter, that they are doing them quickly in order to get it done prior to christmas and since annual dues are due in only a couple of weeks.


I booked our first DVC stay, Feb 20th to 26th at AKL Jambo House savannah view studio, then the 27th at Jambo in a standard 1 bedroom (I wait listed a savannah studio so hopefully that comes through so we don't need to move rooms). The options were sparse but I was glad to get this room

I called today and was told I was in the system but that they could not give me my member number over the phone. I was hoping to get this so I could gain access to DVC website and availability chart.

They told me that I would have my number within 3-4 business days by snail mail. Shouldn't there be another way to get the membership number or is this normal?

From what I have read on the boards, if you call accounting they would give it to you over the phone. Maybe try again on the weekend or Monday, and see what you can do. Good luck!

Accounting is only available Monday-Friday normal business hours.

You're lucky I called for my member number Monday and they gave it to me but I didn't know I needed another number for the website so when I called back they said they didn't have it yet and it would be another 4-6 weeks!!! We closed the first few days of December. Now I'm wondering if they meant 4-6 days?

We signed our agreement to purchase and put down our deposit on 12/7 and, becuase we were in a rush, they mailed the rest of the paperwork to us to fill out and sent back. Our paperwork was delivered on 12/10 and included our activation code and membership numbers. We called the next day and made our first reservation.
