We'll sleep when we get home! A fun-filled mother/daughter vacation! (Updated 1/21)

I love it! I dressed it up with my mickey ears and sunglasses later in the trip, it was adorable. :goodvibes

That is so cute :lovestruc :lovestruc

OKAY you guys, I got a bit confused. This Magic Kingdom update is actually from Friday night, not Sunday night! So sorry I got mixed up. Im going to finish up here and then finish up Sunday appropriately.

After all that picture taking, we decided to go on some rides! We went to Adventureland and well, you can see where we went from there!

CIMG0030.jpg

It looks like I didn't take many pictures after that, probably because my little point-and-shoot isn't that great at night shots! But I believe we went to Frontierland after that. Before we left for Disney, I had been asking my mom numerous times if she would go on a roller coaster with me. From reading my TR, you guys probably know she is a ride-wimp! I told her Big Thunder wasn't too bad and she eventually agreed to it. So that night, we went in line. I could tell she was really nervous, but I wanted her to go on in case she enjoyed it! We waited in the regular line for about 30 minutes and when we got to the ramp before they put you in seats, there was bad thunder and lightning and we had to wait for ANOTHER 20-30 minutes. It wouldn't have been too bad if I had my phone..but that night was the night I decided to leave it at Pop! So we just waited there, bored, for however long. Lots of people left, but we were so close that there was no point in going back. By the time we got on, I think my mom wasn't as nervous because we had that extra time. Boy, was I wrong..... She had her eyes closed the whole time! She said never again. I, on the other hand, had a great time! :wizard: At least she can say she did it now. ;)

The next picture I have is in Mickey's Philharmagic, so I'm guessing we went through Liberty Square and stopped at the Haunted Mansion along the way. Then, we went to Fantasyland and did Fantasyland stuff. I spotted this Hidden Mickey for the first time after the show was over!

CIMG0033.jpg

I think we made our way out a little after that because we were very tired from that morning!

Again, SO sorry about the mix-up with the days. The rain at Pop did actually happen on Sunday, and we did go to the MK Sunday night, but these pictures were from Friday night. I'm going to fix the links and everything right now!

I almost forgot to mention! Yesterday, we got Disney mail! Yep, that's right, we got our Magical Express booklet. Well, two for that matter. We're going to Port Orleans French Quarter on November 24th-November 26th and then staying at the Polynesian until December 3rd. :cloud9: The trip is quickly approaching, which means it's about time to create our countdown calender again! If any of you read my PTR, it will be similar to that one, but a little different. :) I'll be doing picture updates of the Disney mail and the countdown calender soon, and eventually packing when we get closer to the trip! :wizard:

YAY for Disney mail!!! I enjoy reading your updates. So much fun for you and your mom to share these experiences with each other.

Good job getting your mom on Big Thunder! My mom can be a ride wimp too, but even she will go on thunder.

It looks like you guys had a great night, I'm so happy that the rain stopped, now that is magical! :)

I can't believe that your next trip is so close! I'm sure you're getting really excited!

Disney mail is my favorite! :wizard:
Thank you so much. :goodvibes I love being in Disney with her!

Haha thanks! It wasn't easy, but at least she did it. :thumbsup2 I'll be sure to tell my mom that, she's going to feel really pathetic about not wanting to ever go on Big Thunder again now. :lmao:

We had a really fun night! We didn't quite make it for the 3am EMH, but we did pretty good.

It's unbelievable! I never thought I'd be going on three trips in one year and buying an annual pass, it's ridiculous. :dance3:

What a fun trip report! I'm really enjoying all your pics. My mom and I are really close and we went to Disney together for Thanksgiving back when I was about 14; we had a lot of fun (but also some teenage meltdowns, of course, as I was prone to those ). We just went together again for the first time in almost 20 years just about a week ago - still fun!

My mom, however, will definitely ride the "big girl" rides. I'll be reading the rest of your TR! Ready to hear more!

Aww, thanks so much! I'm glad you're enjoying it. :goodvibes Oh that's so sweet! :cutie: I definitely have occasional meltdowns in Disney... But probably not this trip since the weather will be cooler.
Thanks again! I have some homework left for tonight and a Trig test to study for so I don't know if I'll have a trip update up, but I'm making a pre-trip update right now. :)

Here's a little Pre-Trip Update in honor of our next trip being in less than ONE MONTH! :woohoo:

We received our Magical Express booklets in the mail on Saturday. This was our first time getting two! Yay for split-stays. :goodvibes

(Ignore that little black mark, it happened when I used certain settings.)

And of course with the Magical Express booklets, you also get these lovely yellow tags!

Port Orleans French Quarter and the Polynesian...here we come!

MOVING ON....

Since I was in a picture-taking mood, I took a few pictures of Disney things around my room. :)

This is a poster from Japan that says "Dream."

DSC_1225.jpg

A big poster I got from the art store in DTD! It's much prettier without the flash. ;)

DSC_1231.jpg

One of my favorite things in my room...a Magic Kingdom poster! I really love this one.

DSC_1234.jpg

And here's the last picture I took, a precious picture Disney sent to us in our AP Holder mail! My mom & I were so shocked the day we got the package, we weren't expecting anything extra!

ONTO THE COUNTDOWN CALENDER...

OK, so if any of you read my PTR, you probably saw my pictures of our Countdown Calender. We started at 29 days instead of 30 because we were running a little late. Speaking of late, I better start finishing up the calender because today is 30 days!

Here's how it looked from August 3rd to yesterday:

We have some fixing to do!

DSC_1229.jpg

Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish yesterday. (Homework. ) But I really need to finish ASAP. I have a feeling it won't be completed until the weekend though, but oh well!

Here's how it currently looks.

DSC_1230.jpg

Well, that's all for now guys! My laptop is dying so I have to be SUPER QUICK with this post.

OK. I know where the trip report ended off last was a little confusing, but these upcoming updates are 100% Day 5 (Sunday night!) :goodvibes

Our first stop we made when we got back from Animal Kingdom was Everything Pop! popcorn:: It was about 5:30 at this time. I just wanted a kids meal, so we didn't use our dining plan. My mom got the Chicken Penne Alfredo.

ddd0eec1.jpg

I got the kids turkey sandwich (which I LOVE, btw!) with grapes and a cookie (Disney cookies are so yummy. I only recently discovered that you can buy them without getting a kids meal at certain places! :thumbsup2) and the soup of the day which was Tomato. Mmmm!

58910d49.jpg

As we were finishing up eating, we heard something going on in the center of the food court. I looked over our booth and what did I see?!

31a459ea.jpg

981f7a67.jpg

Cast Members doing the hustle! :rotfl: Of all the times we've stayed at Pop, we never were there at 6:00pm to actually witness them dancing! It was really cute. :goodvibes

We filled our mugs and headed back to the room where we would be for the next 3 hours or so (see previous updates. :))

Here's some excerpts from my previous Sunday update...

At that point, the rain was starting to lighten up but it was still coming down pretty hard. We already wasted about 2 hours in the room and I wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom for some EMH! My mom promised we'd leave at 8:00, so if you look at that last picture, I had 10 minutes left until we were out the door!

When we were getting our bags together for the park, my mom said that I couldn't take my Nikon in case it poured again, so I had to take my little point-and-shoot! It took nice pictures, but I missed my baby! :lmao:

We ran to the Classic Hall as fast as we could to take a little shortcut and were eventually on the bus. There was only one other family with us, a couple, and they were nice to talk to. One thing we found kind of funny though is that they both carried around wash clothes from the room with them. Very interesting...

The bus driver predicted that the rain would stop once we got closer to the MK and what do you know? It did! See, you can't listen to the message boards all the time. Sometimes - but drivers are right! (;

The park entrance was nearly empty, or so it felt. The rain had scared a lot of people away from the park that night. Less lines for us! :thumbsup2 I believe I only took my iPhone with me, so all of tonight's pictures are from there.

Main Street was kind of packed, but that was expected because of the parade and fireworks. We cut through the Emporium to avoid crowds.

I got the chance to scroll through. Disney pictures are a great way to start a Friday! :cool1: Just thinking of staying at the Polynesian is pretty exciting! How nice!

I just had that Penne Alfredo dinner at Pop a very few days ago. I can never eat the full meal - that's a lot of food - but it's one of my favorite Pop meals.

Looks like I will be at POFQ the week before you! Maybe I will visit the Polynesian too. Have a good weekend.

From there, it looks like we went to Liberty Square from Main Street.

4de2c34e.jpg

There's the Liberty Square Riverboat. :)

1dbf2428.jpg

We went onto the Haunted Mansion! I wanted to get some cute pictures of the new graveyard queue. By the end of the trip I wanted to go through the line in the daylight and get pictures with my Nikon, but that never happened...whoops!

This is my mom's "I'm waiting in line, must you take a picture of me?" face. ;)

The line must have been moving slow, because here's a picture I edited on the InstaGram app of me in front of the entrance. :)

d2ab868c.jpg

Once we got off the Haunted Mansion, we went to the Yankee Candle store. We bought a wedding gift for my mom's coworkers son and daughter-in-law, a couple kitchen things including a Mickey Mouse toast press and a giant unicorn lollipop that is still sitting in my room to this day, unopened. :lmao: We wanted to send back everything minus the lollipop to the room since the wedding gift was breakable. The lady in back of us in line wanted nothing of that. She definitely made it known that she was irritated with the whole situation! I felt kind of awkward, because shipping back to the room is something that Disney offers people to utilize, and honestly it didn't take more than 5 minutes. Oh well, we'll never see her again!

It was almost 10 when we finished checking out so I made us RUN to see the fireworks! Don't you love spur of the moment events in life? :goodvibes

20d533f1.jpg

I remember waiting by the bridge where the parade floats pass, but we soon discovered that trees blocked the castle. Since there's only two of us, we found a place to squeeze in on Main Street. It was perfect!

After the show, we went back to Liberty Square because I wanted to try a Liberty Swirl Slush from Sleepy Hallow. Mmmmm! It was SO good, I'll definitely be getting that again.

The two rocking chairs near the Hall of Presidents were free, probably because everyone was still on Main Street waiting for The Magic, The Memories, and You!

Here were the light crowds walking around.

And here's me on the rocking chair. :cloud9:

We heard the announcement that the show was starting in a couple of minutes, so we got up and went over to the tables and chairs by Sleepy Hallow. Of course the view wasn't spot on, but it was pretty good. Plus, we had seats!!

Aww, how fun! Thank you, you too! :goodvibes

I had the chicken alfredo at Sports this summer, and it was really good too. (probably the same as at POP) I'm still not sure that I like the Memories and you show at the end of the day, and I haven't figured out why.:confused3
What is in the slushie thingy? I've never heard of it.

Yeah, it's probably the same! It's so yummy and I love the bread stick that comes with it. popcorn::

Aww, why not? After seeing posts on the Disney boards I wasn't sure what to expect but I found it to be very magical. :cloud9: I can't even watch it without tearing up. :rotfl: And I adore the song! Ok, I'm done. I just really love it. :goodvibes

The Liberty Swirl Slush is basically a fancy name for a strawberry & blue raspberry slushy. It's really good and refreshing though!

"To Infinity and Beyond!" You just have to see this part for yourself, so here's a video. It's 149857678x more amazing in person though. It looks like a rocket ship is blasting off Cinderella's Castle. Jaws dropped every time!

When the show was over, we went around the castle and saw Tiana and Naveen were out greeting people! I heard online that Naveen was rare and only out during parties, but I guess not. I should have gone to them and got a picture, but I didn't. I could kick myself now.

We went to Mickey's Philharmagic from there. I've probably mentioned this before, but this show is one of our top favorite things in Disney. :goodvibes

EMH was starting to kick in because Dumbo didn't have a very long line. I love going on this ride at night. Even though there are construction walls on one side, it's still SO magical being around the castle and the carousel! This picture really captures what I'm trying to say. :cloud9:

(And yes, I know I've been absent for a week now, but you can bet I'll be making up those updates this weekend. :thumbsup2)

You didn't take time to see Naveen??? :faint:

I never noticed these decorations up in the gift shop! I thought they were pretty cute. (:

In Disney World, you have to look up, down, and all around! There are cool things everywhere. ::yes::

We went on the teacups next, and we got to go on 5 times in a row without getting off! We each had our own tea cup because while I LOVE to spin…my mom does not. ;) Half of the fun of that ride is watching my mom’s reaction to all my spinning!

We headed over to Winnie the Pooh after that and we had the whole ride TO OURSELVES! It was amazing!! I have the ride memorized (Yes, I’ve been on it THAT many times! And I have it on my iPhone…you get the point. :)) so I was having a good ol’ time singing along to it! It was one of the most magical moments of the trip. :goodvibes:

If you couldn’t understand how obnoxious I was during the ride…now you see. :lmao: I’ve always wanted to take a picture in this room, but I didn’t want to bother the other people in our Hunny Pot. Bad quality, but you can see what it is!

17d93907.jpg

I walked off the ride smiling ear to ear. We went over to Peter Pan and what do you know….NO LINE! Yes, that’s right! This was something I’ve never seen before. Even the times we’ve been in the Magic Kingdom at 3:00 in the morning, there has always been some sort of line. So, we ran on! I was giddy during the whole ride. When we turned the corner at the end to the loading/unloading zone, the cast member asked if we wanted to go again. Um, YES! I wanted to go a third time but my mom was tired. :lmao: So off we went.

This is her giving me her very best exhausted smile!

We dragged ourselves to Main Street, but I could not pass up the great photo opportunities (even though I only had my iPhone with me)

The bus came soon enough and we arrived back home. Goodnight, Pop!
