HELLLLOOOOO HUMANS! (That's the part where you wave your arms in the air and scream!)

My mom and I just got home from our trip to the World at about 12am last night. I was planning on starting the trip report as soon as I got back - but I was way too tired. So here we go!

We MUST start with our introductions before we get too carried away! For those of you who haven't read my pre-trip report, hi, my name is Stephanie. I'm 14 years young and I have a extremely strong passion for all things Disney. My favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast and my favorite attraction is the TTA Peoplemover. I'm an only child and I live in New York with my two parents who I love very much. :lovestruc I love learning new things and I'm going to be a Sophomore next month. I'm sure you'll get to know me better by my writing in this TR, so I'll leave it at that. :goodvibes This is me:

Next up is my mom. She works in the media at a company in Manhattan. She's always my best friend, and my favorite person to go to Disney with (Well, the only person I have been with ;) ) but my favorite nonetheless. Her favorite movie is Finding Nemo and her favorite attraction is the TTA Peoplemover. This is mommy:

I am joining in on the fun! I can't wait to read about your adventures with your Mom.

Today was the day. We had a very early flight and I was up out of bed by 5:15 in the morning. I made my bed and everything, which surprised my parents to say the least! :lmao: But what can I say? I had been ready to go for the longest time! Our luggage had been packed about 2 weeks prior (we were that excited ;) ) and it was all lined up and ready to go.

Daddy drove us to JFK at 6 on the dot and we made it there with really good timing. We were there before 6:30! We live in Brooklyn, so I guess Queens isnt too far away when theres no traffic. We have a marina near our mall and it looked BEAUTIFUL that morning with the sun rising over it. I wanted to take a picture, but my camera was packed in a bag in the very back of the car so I couldnt get a picture.

When we finally arrived at the Delta drop-off place, we were a little confused about if we were in the right place because everyone around us seemed to have a passport and we were just going to Orlando! We usually fly out of LGA, but that is a long drive so we decided to fly out of JFK this year. It was a little confusing at first (and when we arrived back home on the 13th - but well get to that later!) but we managed. Daddy helped us get our luggage out of the trunk and to the curb. We both hugged him goodbye and he was off. In case you were wondering, he doesnt come with us because he is a drummer in a band that plays for weddings and different events. He doesnt find out about his gigs far enough in advance to book a vacation - and if he misses a gig, hes out. But he is fine without going. He has lived all around the country, including California, so he's been to Disneyland a lot (And his friends got banned from going on Pirates of the Caribbean...but that's a whole other story! :lmao: ) He gets the whole house to himself and we get a little break!

Scanning was a breeze. I was terrified of being selected as a random for a pat-down, but luckily we both made it through without any trouble. Unfortunately, an elderly lady in front of us in line did not have the same luck, and was pulled over for a very lengthy pat-down. We both felt so bad for her. We headed toward the Delta section but stopped at Dunkin Doughnuts to get some breakfast. I ordered a whole-wheat bagel with cream cheese and an apple juice and mommy ordered a blueberry muffin and a coffee. There must have been a lack of communication because we ended up with a plain bagel with cream cheese, apple juice, and a coffee. It was no big deal, I just took the plain bagel and mommy went through the line again to order ANOTHER blueberry muffin.

After that we went to the gate and just sat for a little while. Sooner than later, we were boarding! :goodvibes: I had my iPhone packed with tons of Disney music to keep me busy along the way.

We waited to take off

And we were finally up, up and away!

I am joining in on the fun! I can't wait to read about your adventures with your Mom.

Welcome and thanks for joining in! :)

Yay!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!

:cool1: Thanks for joining!

Here, here, here! :yay:

:dance3: Yay! My mom just got home with Chinese food, but when I get back I'm gonna finish reading what you wrote so far and comment. :goodvibes

I'm in! I love reading TRs written by kids the same age as me (:

Welcome! I do too, I'll be sure to read yours when I get the time. :)

Subbing. My daughter and I are planning our first Mother/Daughter WDW trip in Sept. 2012. Can't wait to read about your adventure.

Great start! (: Glad to see you got through all the airport craziness smoothly. I feel so bad for the lady who had to get the pat-down. And I'm sorry about your Dunkin' Donuts order debacle, I think they give you a refund if they mess up your order... something to know for next time :teeth: And a big :thumbsup2 to your iPhone of Disney Music, a great way to get into the mode (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Thank you! There's not many pictures in this first update, but there will be eventually. I think I took about 1500, and that doesn't include the ones on my phone! It was very sad to see. I'm all about safety - but I think they're taking it to the extreme. I didn't know that about Dunkin' Donuts! Ha well thanks for the info. One of my favorites on my phone is the Magic Kingdom entrance loop. It's about an hour long so that kept me occupied for most of the flight! :goodvibes

I'm here! :surfweb: Love to read mother/daughter trips.

Welcome! Thanks for joining! :goodvibes

I'm here too! Well, me and DD. I've told her we are going and she is geeked, to say the least. We are going to be following along on your TR until we leave. Tues is the day! Looking forward to reading more!popcorn::

Can't wait to hear all about your trip! It sounds like you have a wonderful mother!

Our plane arrived in Orlando almost 45 minutes earlier than expected! It was wonderful because that meant more time in Disney. :wizard: We headed out to the “monorail” to take us to the other side of the airport. I’m sure this is a familiar sight for many of you. :goodvibes

DSC_0370-1.jpg

We got front row so I got to sit down for the…30 second ride. :lmao:

Once we were off, we went down the escalator and saw these signs.

DSC_0373-1.jpg

DSC_0374-1.jpg

We went straight through and showed the cast members our little Magical Express booklet. We were on our way!

DSC_0375.jpg

After about a 5 minute wait, our line was let through and we headed towards the buses. I find that the Magical Express is true to it’s name on the way to the World, but on the way back to the airport it is the Not-so-Magical Express. :sad2: But at this moment, we were headed to the World, so we were nothing but excited!

DSC_0376-1.jpg

This was not our bus, but our bus had it’s bottom section up to put luggage in, so I thought this one made for a better picture. ;) Our bus was one of the water park ones if I remember correctly! We waited until the bus was completely full and we were on our way.

DSC_0377-1.jpg

The bus actually ended up going to AKL Jambo house and AKL Kidani Villiage first, which made the ride a bit longer because anyone who has ever been at Pop knows it’s right next to the Walt Disney World gates. In fact, I think you can see them at a certain point in the 50’s section. I guess the driver was backtracking though by going to the furthest place first then the closest to the gates.

While we were on the bus, my mom and I overheard the guy behind us talking to this woman who was at Disney for the first time. He said that his son was in the college program and was “friends of Peter Pan.” Very cool! When the woman got off bus at Caribbean Beach, the stalkers we are told him we overheard him talking about the program. :lmao: My mom told him about how I wanted to do it and he was explaining different parts of it to us. He was staying at Pop too, so when we got off the bus, his son was standing there waiting for him. He was so excited to see him, it was the cutest thing! The guy said “He looks like Peter Pan, doesn’t he?” He really did. His luggage was out of the bus before ours and him and his son were walking into the lobby. He saw us and smiled. It was our first of many Disney friends on the trip! :goodvibes

We went straight to check in as soon as we got our bags. There, we met a nice cast member who gave us some Hidden Mickey trivia : Pop version! I got 2/3 correct. He was impressed. :thumbsup2 I was checking out his pins and I saw a really cute one of the yellow 3D glasses they have at Philharmagic and Toy Story Mania. I told him I wish I had my pins with me because I really wanted to trade for it, but unfortunately they were packed with our checked luggage. He said we could come back anytime and try to find him, but if he wasn't there to ask for the front desk pins. My mom also asked him about upgrading our tickets to annual passes. You see, for this trip we got a free dining PIN code so we had to buy 2 day base tickets. We weren't sure if we had to use them first and then upgrade or upgrade first thing to get the money spent on the 2 day tickets taken off of the AP's. He checked and said to upgrade them first thing, so we did that later on in the day.

Once we got to the desk, I recognized the cast member on the other side. It was Judy from Brooklyn, NY who I saw on MeMom's trip report! :scared1: It really is a small world after all! Judy was actually helping a new CM who was very nice and from China to check us in. Judy handed me 2 "I'm Celebrating!" pins while the lady from China (I can't remember her name for the life of me, but it started with an S! I promise to take note of CM names in November. ;)) I was very happy during check in because I had gotten all of my room requests! 60's section, building 5, floor 2, facing the Hippy Dippy Pool. I was thrilled! :cutie:

We walked through Classic Hall, passed Everything Pop, and out into the 60's section!

DSC_0380-1.jpg

We took the elevator because we had our little suitcases with us, but our room was right next to the Yo-Yo staircase so we were steps away from everything.

Our room number. :goodvibes

DSC_0398-1.jpg

Here's our room! Please don't mind the fact that we made ourselves at home a bit before I started taking pictures. :)

Again, please don't mind the fact that I look like I'm sleepwalking. ;) I blinked for the picture by accident. Whoops!

DSC_0382.jpg

Our view!

DSC_0384-1.jpg

This little guy was waiting for us in the room. We were excited because we hadn't gotten any towel animals in like 2 years!

DSC_0385-1.jpg

Can you tell how excited I was? ;)

DSC_0386.jpg

After taking all of the pictures, we headed to Everything Pop because we were starving!

I got a pink mug and mommy got the blue mug.

DSC_0393-1.jpg

We both got the Chicken Penne Alfredo. If you read my PTR, you know what dessert I got. ;) If you're new, the TIE-DYE CHEESECAKE! :worship: It was all I expected it to be, very yummy! :goodvibes I had the flash on my accident, but don't worry, the food pictures got better (when I remembered to take them.....)

DSC_0394-1.jpg

Mommy's not a big cheesecake person so she got a tie-dye cupcake so she wouldn't feel left out of the tie-dye party. ;)

DSC_0395-1.jpg

Food Review!:
The Chicken Penne Alfredo was very good, it's one of our favorite Pop meals. It's very filling though, I can never finish the whole thing! I already described my love for the tie-dye cheesecake. :) Mommy said her tie-dye cupcake was good, but nothing to write home about.

We went back to the room to drop off our mugs after we browsed through the store. We always drop our mugs off in the room before we go to the parks, but we always see many families in the parks carrying their mugs! :confused3 I know it's your own choice, but it seems like a hassle to have to carry them around all day. We even saw this one lady holding 5 all at once!

Here's the Yo-Yo I mentioned earlier. ;)

DSC_0396-1.jpg

DSC_0397-1.jpg

After we got our bags together, we took the scenic way to the buses instead of going right through Classic Hall. Here's the map near the Goofy jets that are not working. :sad2:

DSC_0399-1.jpg

We walked past the 70's.

DSC_0400-1.jpg

The playground which I used to spend a lot of time in! It's nice because it's always empty.
