How incredibly patriotic...I hear they're passing out medals of honor at Walmart. Maybe another trip after lunch...

Cool by me....

My 2 sons and I executed our planned mission early this morning on our way to school. We stopped at our local Wal-Mart and ordered breakfast from the McDonald’s inside. Seems it was staffed by managers at the time. Then we did some Wal-Mart shopping which included an American flag.

At lunchtime it’s off to the carwash!! I hope the usual guys are there that dry my car off..I’m a big tipper ..so it’s their loss.

I support legal immigration ....this boycott/blackmail/walkout crap has to go!!!

God Bless America!

Umm PD, but what happened to being a good role model to your daughters? It's fine to not be in support of it, but it's quite another to gloat about it.

See, you don't see it my way, so you think that is not being a good role model. I believe I am being a good role model by by doing what I did.... I can't show and support, and, in fact, am happy to show disdain for those who break the laws.

To each their own.

Once again, though, I will mention that I love how people who disagree with my positions like to tie it in with being a role model. If you actually knew me in person, and knew my family, I think you would be surprised at how nice a family we are, and how polite and nice my children are.

OK ..back from lunch.

The carwash that I have been going to for the past 10 years was sealed shut. I drove a half mile to another one it too was closed. Luckily I did see one on the way back that was wide open. The owner and his wife were doing the dry off’s. They said that they were Polish immigrants who came to this country legally and started a carwash business. I tipped them 20 bucks.

Needless to say I will NEVER go to my old carwash again!!

I don't think that it is gloating to peacefully show that you do not support something. Being a good role model is showing your children how to peacefully stand up for what you believe in and that is what Papa Deuce is doing.

If our local Mexican restaurant was closed today I would be in there tomorrow to let them know that they lost at least one customer because of it. They have the right to stand up for what they believe in, and I have right to to chose to not eat there because of it.

Good Idea, I also intend to shop today! I think its a great idea. If I run into a business that didnt open today I will drop them and tell them why! I think this no show for work thing is nonsense and isnt going to help their cause! I have written my congress reps and let them know how I feel about the issue. You dont see me calling into work and protesting in the street for them to leave if they are illegal?

So if he supported Illegal immigration...that would make him a good role model? :confused3

Why is it OK for people to come into our country illegally & demand rights? Shouldn't you be pointing the bad role model finger at them instead?

I did exactly as the OP today. :thumbsup2

ate out at lunch, will eat dinner out. Stopping to fill the vanpool van up with gas on the way home (around $80); and then after dinner--shopping. I left all my grocery shopping, walmart/target run, and birthday gift shopping for today. Making notes of stores closed for my letter tomorrow.

Dearxxxxx:

On Monday, May 1, I went to patronize your establishment. I found the doors locked and the business closed. I wasted a trip, my time and my precious gasoline. You have lost my business. I will be sure to spread the message to my family, friends and co-workers about the inconvenience and extra money your shutdown caused me.

Sincerely ,

:rotfl2: Sorry...just got an image of Golem from Lord of the Rings..."my precious." :rotfl2:

My guess... if someone felt stongly enough to close their business, I doubt this type of letter will make much of a difference (although they might have a giggle or two). But that's great, I guess, that you feel so strongly. Personally I find that level of political resentment exhausting.

Well dang it! We had lunch and dinner out with no problems except now I am suffering from heartburn from too much Mexican food. How was I to know that they'd be open? :rotfl2:

We went shopping today and did not run into any difficulty or store closings at all.

I wonder if they had a walk out here and everyone just showed up for work. :confused3

I wanted to do all my shopping today. I woke up sick as a dog and my shopping will have to wait a day or 2. :guilty:
