We'll see if they follow through, but...

*dang* at the service! Wow.

I emailed vacation planning asking for restaurant hours so we could plan where we wanted to eat and when.

I got an email back saying it'd be easier if she called me, then we could set up reservations, too. :earseek: I was wondering how she had my number, until I remembered I had my phone number in my work sig and emailed from that addy. Oops. :o But in this case, it'll work out great! If she follows through and calls.

I must say, Disneyland CRO equiv has improved since we were there two years ago. ;)

Hopefully they will call.
I am getting excited to make my reservations. We leave in less than 30 days, but the first few days we are going to Legoland and San Diego so we won't be at Disney until the 10th. I can't wait to get the meals part figured out so I can make the rest of my schedule.
I am getting excited!

Well, we had decided we weren't going to make dining PS, were just going to "wing it", but if they're going to go so far as to call *me* to assist with reservations, heck! I'll take the service! I just wasn't sure where we wanted to eat, when.

I'm still "old-school Disneyland" I guess you could say -- I haven't ever been when PS were required anywhere but at the Blue Bayou, and those could only be obtained by walking up and making them. I still haven't adjusted to the concept of needing PS at Disneyland like you do at Disneyworld.

We were the on a Thursday in October. I had PS for Goofy's kitchen at 7:45. We were late and didn't get there until 8:15. The gal ahead of me was told there was a 45 minute wait w/out the PS. Luckly for us they honored our PS even though we were late. DL didn't open until 10:00 that day and the place was PACKED when we left at 9:30.

I would suggest making a PS at Goofy's if you want to eat there w/out waiting forever. If now, I hear Storytellers in the GC is very good.

At the moment, I'm more interested in Storyteller's and Plaza Inn, anyway. :) I've done Goofy's Kitchen before and keep going back and forth on whether I want to go again. I had one of my best character dining experiences there, and I'm sure they wouldn't be able to beat that last experience, when Goofy and the Mad Hatter both drew characatures (sp?) for me. It was very cool!

Okay, that was the most *unbelievably* helpful CM I've ever encountered, Disneyland or Disneyworld. They've VASTLY improved their reservations customer service at Disneyland since we were last there. Wow.

We've got dining reservations, breakfast and dinner, for the whole trip now. :) I hope DH approves of the choices I made, since he wouldn't give me any input for himself.

Obviously, yes, they did call me back. And even caught me at my desk. :) And, since I have an email from her, I have her name so I can send a THANKS letter after we're back. :)

Rajah,
Where did you choose to get PS? I've done this at WDW but never at DL. We've walked into the RFC and Goofy's Kitchen, and just made reservations the same day at Blue Bayou, but this next trip I'd like to try something different.

Also, any opinions regarding Goofy's Kitchen vs. the Plaza Inn? How do they compare? Grandma (who's going with us this trip) liked Goofy's last time (she likes the buffet idea, you know, more for your money  ), but I've been there many times and would like to talk her into something else, but I don't want to hear any "told you so's" if nothing else compares to Goofy's.

I'll take any other suggestions for a good place to eat in or around DLR too!!

We've got PS for Goofy's Kitchen (br), Hook's Pointe (d), Catal (d), Storyteller's Cafe (br & d), Blue Bayou (L), and Napa Rose (d). We're also planning to try the Plaza Inn for breakfast (they don't take PS) and several other places for lunch.

Rajah, those are great choices and I think you were very wise to get advance reservations...especially since they made it so easy for you! :)

Rajah, Did her name happen to be Dana? I have heard great reviews of Dana's customer service and I was just curious.

Great choices on your PS.

Sonya

Yup, it was Dana. :)

She hasn't responded back to me today yet, though. :( I noticed Saturday night that she had our Storyteller's Cafe (d) PS down as Goofy's Kitchen instead, and wanted to make sure that was corrected. She also said she'd be looking into the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour for us. I know she had at least Friday, probably Saturday, and maybe Sunday as well off, though, so that's no big surprise.

I'm debating whether to call and get that PS corrected and see if we can get in on the tour, or wait for her. If we miss the tour, I'd be slightly disappointed, but not hugely, and I'm not too worried about our dinner PS. It's the tour I'm more concerned about -- but I don't know if we can even make ressies for it since we aren't AP holders yet. If there's room on the tour, I'm planning on upgrading one regular pass to an AP, but you can only do that when you get there.

If I call, though, chances are I wouldn't get Dana. And I really like working with her.

I dunno...

And... she just corrected the dining PS for me. Apparently she had it right on the reservation, it was on our itinerary that she had it wrong. :)

Now just waiting for the tour... I'll be surprised if she can get it for us, but who knows. :)

She has worked wonders in the past. She is making quite a name for herself on a few other boards.

One person was unable to get a PS for Thanksgiving dinner at Goofy's and posted how sad she was on a web board. Dana e-mailed her and got her a reservation.

So, there is hope she can get you in that tour.

I hope Disney realizes what a gem they have in her. Please write/e-mail them and let them know how you feel about her or anyother CM for that matter.

I sure will! She has been amazing! She did get us on that tour! :) Very fun person to work with, and such service!

I wonder... can you stop at City Hall and fill out a guest compliment card for someone in vacation planning? I know you can for people in the park, but I'm not sure if you can for vacation planning. If nothing else, I'll do an email again, though! I've done one for each of my past 3 trips. :)
