I spent my morning in my room going through all my drawers and closet and my DS's baby stuff that I have left. I now have 4 boxes of stuff for a yard sale this summer to add to the stuff I've been accumulating in my storage room all year. My DM also has tons of stuff she wants to get rid of since she moved and went through her attic and basement.

Tell me what you think :

I'm going to have a sign that says all clothes 50 cents and baby blankets and spit up cloths are 25 cents. I don't pan on selling anything over $2 cuz I just want it out of here. I'll probably end up with over 500 individual items so maybe I'll make a little money.

I also have some old Barbies I want to sell. They aren't that old, from the last 10 yrs and most are new in box. I have a few out of box that I want to get rid of too but I have no clue for prices on these. Most were limited editions and none are for sale anymore. I even have a few Happy Holiday Barbies. What would you price these for? :confused3 I don't want to Ebay these since they don't sell well and I don't want to worry about shipping. It will just be great to have storage space back and money for vacation. I think the Barbie collection phase is over.

I'm going to put up signs and post in our local but maybe I should post in the big paper or our weekly magazine that our town and local towns get free ? Any good idea's to attract attention ? I live in a tourist town in winter(skiing) and summer(boating), I am also only minutes from a major rd that you need to drive to get anywhere out of town or through town so i have a good chance of having my signs seen if I just put them up at the end of my roads. What would you do ?

More moeny for my ING account with this ! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1:

Just to add, everything is free from stains (even spit up cloths which are really cloth diapers) and I won't have anything ripped, torn or broken. I will have a few cute outfits and am considering selling my kids old Halloween costumes too. They are Disney so what should they go for ? I have Goliath and Snow White. What about leather jackets that never go out of style...i.e. motorcycle jacket and bomber styles ? Christmas dresses ? They are pretty fancy and cost about $70 new.

What size is your Snow White?

And why aren't you ebaying this stuff?

Personally - I would do at least $1 per item - then you can negotiate and give breaks to bulk buyers!

I know that this summer I too am selling a lot of my son's clothes. Sizes vary so much. From 10 to 18. I am thinking of doing a bag sale. Give them a paper grocery bag and everything they can fit in the bag for 5.00. Some of the really nice items. Like the Columbia vest I will put up on Ebay in late summer.

I also have tupperware etc to get rid of. I do plan on Ebaying some of it. I have to start going through everything and marking it. Our community rummage is the first weekend after school gets out. So I will be ready and out there.

All money goes towards Disney!

Snow white is a size 8-10 Disney Store

I'm not ebaying cuz my computer crashed so I am using my kids computer and ebaying would require me loading new software programs and stuff for my camera and they already have enough games on it. I feel bad enough that I use it as my internet link as it is. I have a year to wait before I can get my new computer. :sad2:

The two Christmas dresses I have here are Young Sport and Speechless, but I have a few more upstairs. I have size 4 thru size 10.

My sister and I have an annual garage sale in early Spring. I have three DDs (8,6 and 3) so I always have TONS of clothes to sell. I put big signs on the clothes tables that the clothes are $1.00 each piece or 6 pieces for $5.00. People will usually try to get you to come down on your prices so you may as well start at a reasonable price instead of just giving it away right off the bat. Just my $.02. I'm not sure on the pricing of the Barbie dolls though.
Good luck to you on your sale!

I figured the "yard sale" threads would be starting up soon! I'm going to check my calendar this week and schedule ours for sometime in May! DH HATES them, but we NEED to have one!

Anyhow, about the Barbies. I have some experience selling Barbies on Ebay. I have actually quit doing it because I was losing money. And I wasn't selling junk.... MINT in the box, NRFB Happy Holiday Barbies from the early to mid 1990s.... most times I was lucky if I got $10 for them (BEFORE my ebay fees). I sold several for under $5! (The market is just glutted with them, unfortunately). Considering I paid about $20 a piece for these when they first came out, I decided I'd rather keep them than sell for that price! And people don't come out to yard sales to spend big money.... if you are lucky you might get $5/pc for them. But start them at at least $10 each.... you might get lucky!

Good Luck!.................P
