Well imagine my surprise!June 2009 PTRw/pics 7/7 pg. 76 NEW TR started link on pg. 76

Hello!

I'm new to your PTR but I'm loving it. We're going at the same time, but sadly not for as long. We're arriving June 21st too and leaving June 29th. I'm stressing right with you. First no park hours, then the adr problem, no SWW and now rehabs. We'll also be celebrating birthdays. I'll be taking my Princesses. They were born 9 years and 2 days apart. In the past this has always made it hard for birthday planning, but this year it really work to our benefit.

Of course I'm really stressing about trying to make my adrs at the same time as you'll be making your 28 adrs :scared1: ! Wish me luck!

TTA is going down because of the Space Mountain refurb, Carissa. April 19.

Thanks Jackie - like I said - I'm a bit out of the loop on Disney info these days! I'm glad SM will be open for us since we've never been on and Sully says he wants to ride this year. I still don't know if I want to!! He also said he wants to go on R n RC - I'm more willing to do that one.

That stinks Diane. Do you know when the TTA starts its refurbishment? We have never been on it and plan to this trip. I didn't see it listed for our timeframe.

It will start on 4/19 and go through 8/19 so you should be OK!:thumbsup2

Oh okay. gotcha

Trent adjusted very well. He was so excited to see his friends:goodvibes

How did your boys do?

That stinks. I just read that the other day.

Just think for your next trip though, Space Mountain and TTA are supoosed to be totally different and updated and have fresh looks. I am excited for it, as even though I enjoy Space Mountain, it is really outdated.

But I hear ya, it will make other lands a tad more crowded :sad2:

Thanks Kelly! The boys adjusted OK going back, I think they are happy to be on a routine again although they would never admit it! I have decided to try and not let the refurbs get to me, there is nothing I can do about it so it's wasted energy!;)

I told Charles today about the SM refurb, Diane, and he said, "Well, there goes my favorite ride at the MK." There always seems to be something during June for us -- one year, Haunted Mansion; last year, Pirates; this year, Space Mountain. It is a downer. :(

Bryan has been complaining a little here and there too, he really likes the TTA! I teased him last night and told him that now Soarin would be down for part of the trip and that mans face looked like this:mad: :scared1: Of course I was kidding but it was HYSTERICAL! You have to find the humor in things and just tell yourself that it could be worse right!:thumbsup2

WELCOME and thank you so much for your sweet comments!!:cheer2: How sweet to have 2 princesses!:cloud9: I am so happy for you that you are able to take such great advantage of the birthday promo!:cool1: Good Luck on your ADR'S too!:goodvibes

Do them all Carissa!!:rotfl2:

Sorry Diane, that does stink about the refurbs. I can't believe Disney would pick such a busy time of year to refurb something like SM!!

From what I had read a few months back it's gonna be a looooong refurb, they are basically re doing the whole ride. I can't remember when it starts does anyone know?:confused3

Hey Dana!! I've read it closes April 19th and goes thru the end of July or longer. I'm just surprised they picked a time where it goes thru all the summer months, but it may take longer than July... :confused3 They may be making it more like the DL version, I think its a two seater ride, will probably fit more people on the ride, so that will be good! :)

Thanks! I know but I guess a really long refurb like that would effect some really busy time!:confused3

Hi Dana!! It starts on 4/19 and goes throught 11/09!:upsidedow

I've become quite the chicken in my old age. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: I am at other parks like 6 flags but not at Disney!:confused3

It's just the fear of the unknown. I've done Splash Mountain and BTMR and those were fine. I think Space Mountain makes me nervous for two reasons. One - it's in the dark (I'm not scared of the dark - just not being able to see where I'm going.). Two - I've heard such different opinions on it. I'm nervous about feeling sick afterwards - same thing with EE.

The way space mountain is now, you can kind of see where you are going...it is rough but didn't make me sick...Expedition Everest though does have the potential to make you feel a little motion sickness but only very briefly on the backwards part!:goodvibes

Soooo a few nights ago Eric asks us to show him pictures of the Star Wars Weekend parade again. He LOVES looking at those pictures! Well when he said that, Bryan gave me this look like "tell him" and I shook my head no! I was honestly not looking forward to telling him...needless to say I realized that I needed to and didn't want him to continue thinking about it and building it up even more. So we told him the truth and he was even MORE devastated then I ever thought he would be!:scared1:  :sad1: He sobbed for a good 2 hours and didn't even want to eat! I know this must all seem a bit dramatic but to him it meant the world!! I guess I would equate it with a little girl going to meet the princesses and then finding out she couldn't! He did finally get over it somewhat but he did ask us to call Disney and ask them to change the dates back:sad2: We also told them about Space Mountain being closed to which Eric replied "I don't even want to go now":scared: :sad2: So I told him that I would buy him something special from the Star Wars gift shop at DHS:rolleyes1 I know bad mom bribing her kid...but I was desperate:goodvibes

On another note, we have still been checking flights and they are still over $200 per person. I wish Southwest would hurry up and open their dates up so I can start stalking roundtrip airfare!:thumbsup2 Oh and I want to know when are the airlines going to get rid of their checked bag fees:confused3 Gas is lower then it has been in years!!:thumbsup2

Nothing wrong with a little bribery!!! I think promising something from the SW gift shop is a fair trade. Whatever keeps the peace on the trip is worth it.

My flights are also over $200 a person and that is on Southwest. Luckily I only have to pay for 2 of them though. I have to wait for a ding though I guess. Is Spirit alot of money too? I used to love flying out of AC inot Orlando.
That sucks that Star Wars weekend was changed and that Eric was :sad2: devastated. I would have bribed him too ;).

Awwww - poor little guy. :sad1: I don't think there's anything wrong with promising him a special gift - gives him something to look forward to. :goodvibes

I think the closer it gets the better it gets! We usually buy our airfare in Feb. for April! Spirit is great but the charge A TON of fees, unless of course we can get a $9 fare!:goodvibes

Thanks Carissa!:goodvibes He really needed something to look forward to!:thumbsup2

Just found your PTR and am getting all caught up! I didn't read your last TR but looks like you had a Dream filled trip! What a day at MK! Congrats on buying DVC.

Aww, that must have broke your heart seeing Eric so sad :sad1:

I think promising something special in the SW gift shop was definitely the best thing to do:goodvibes

Oh, no. Poor little guy--I feel so badly for him. I'd absolutely have resorted to spoiling him a bit to compensate, too. ;) Maybe I'll see if Caitlin can snag another Storm Trooper on our trip and I can box him up and send him to Eric.
