Well, I'm not going back to THAT salon again!

We're new to the neighborhood and decided to try the local kids' haircut place for my two preschool-age kids.
We were the only customers there. The two women cutting my kids' hair immediately began talking to each other about terrorists blowing up airplanes. They talked about the shoe bomber specifically, and then about how it would feel to die in a plane crash. I stood up from my seat and came closer and sort of cleared my throat hoping to point out that their discussion wasn't appropriate, but then, their conversation moved on to which countries are most likely to send terrorists to hide in U.S. cities and blow things up.

I was mad that they'd loudly discuss this stuff in front of preschoolers, but my kids were watching Dora on the TV screens, so I didn't think they were listening. But when we walked out, DD asked me why someone would want to blow up airplanes with their shoes. :sad2: We've discussed terrorism with our kids, but it's been in an age-appropriate way!

To top it off, both cuts weren't very good. I had said I wanted 2" off of DD's hair, and the lady cut at least 4" off ("for summer" she said). DS hair just looks chopped off all around.

I guess I'll be finding a different place for my kids' haircuts.

Half the time I wish I could go deaf in any beauty salon or barber shop!! My son is 17 and he would come back from the barber with the most inapppropriate stories straight from the mouths of the barbers, mostly about their WOMEN....

Luckily I found a barber that comes to our home and cuts his hair biweekly. Spare me the information about their latest "baby mama"... :scared:

Some people are so clueless....:sad2:
