Well, I just ruined a Wedding

People take this wedding stuff waaaay too seriously. Sacha Baron Cohen running through the church aisles in the buff could be considered "ruining a wedding". A phone call? Meh. But if it was THAT important, she should have had the phone on vibrate.

She answered it to make it stop ringing, but it rang 5 times on my end before she picked up. :scared:

And I am not in the least bothered by this at all... well no, wait, I do feel bad that the wedding video that will now have this loud ringing at some key part. I sure hope the couple and their familys also have a sense of humor. It sucks that it happened.

But I am highly amused at her blaming ME :lmao:

(and part of me hopes one of the guests rat finks her out, is that so wrong of me lol)

One ring and they should have shut off the phone, not pick it up. I am sure the bride and groom are not blaming you. ;)

No you didn't. She did. She shouldn't have the cell phone on let alone with her during the ceremony. Just my opinion!

Nope, her fault. The phone should have been off.

I'm sorry, but it's kinda funny. Her fault, not yours. If I forget to turn off my phone at the docs and it rings, I can just hit the little button the side and it stops ringing. That's what she should have done. There are people who simply HAVE to answer a phone no matter where they are. When my FIL answers the phone in a whisper, its because he's in a public bathroom and so are others. :lmao: Don't answer!! Just hit the button to stop the ringing and check it later.

My family just got back from vacation with her family and I have started a trip report about our adventures to Hilton Head with them....

If you think this is bad.... give me a day or two to get to the juicy parts of my trip report and your jaw will drop more than a few times with her behavior.

:thumbsup2

Needless to say after we swap back some things from the trip, I am putting our friendship on the back burner and stepping slowly away...

:rolleyes1

(oh and can I add that a few years back at Victoria and Alberts her phone rang and she loudly held a conversation until I shooed her out the door)

I was mortified :sad2:

At least her ringtone wasn't the one my daughter use to have on hers. I don't know the name of the song, but line was "somone is going to kick someone's...... (a word I can't type out).

Don't feel bad. She just made a big show of it in order to lay the blame on you. She deflected the blame off of herself. Everyone was probably looking at her and she was exposed for not turning her phone off. Ofcourse she could've turned it off on the spot, but nooooo.

Yes, she would go to the back burner, and it would be turned off (like her cell phone should have been!).

OP:
SHAME on you not to remember your friends itinerary for the day, week, month and year:sad2: What kind of friend are you anyway???

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Is she kidding or what, seems like a "blamer" to me....

don't feel too bad, but take the heat, shes your friend and was obviously stressed and likely VERY embarrassed, as she should be......hopefully she learned her lesson to put it on vibrate in the future. Kidding aside, you did nothing wrong.........

This is something that would soooooo happen to my mom,, I forget what day church is and call her during mass, I think a movie is over and she picks up in the theater. She just doesn't get the whole vibrate thing and picks up wherever she is. Me I would come back for my purse later and just walik away.

I agree - her phone should not have been on 'ring' (or even on, period) in the first place. YOU didn't ruin anything.

I still remember my cousin's wedding. It was supposed to be outdoors at a hotel, but the weather was iffy so it got moved inside to a function room before guests arrived. In the middle of the ceremony, a wall phone rang!

Sounds like my father-in-law. He'd break his neck to answer a ringing phone. It drives him crazy that we screen. ;)

All phones should be off or on silent at a wedding. Totally her fault AND she could have disconnected you instead of talking to you.

Shame on you for not consulting your cystal ball. Sorry to say it but she is an idiot!!

Shame on your friend for not turning her phone off and then trying to blame her stupidity on you!
