I put in my $1000 deposit with DCL today for the 5520 SPH & I am SO excited. I was REALLY on the fence on whether or not to go ahead with putting down the deposit. GIVING DCL $1000 for 2 YEARS!!! Hmmmm....but I got THE ROOM I wanted & I know that I will not be able to get it back if I do let it go!! I would have to go on this sailing in an inside stateroom if I didn't book it now!! (hear me justifying the $1000??)

All in all I am very happy, my husband thinks I am a little (maybe a lot) nuts, but I think he still loves me!!

For anyone who might want it cabin 5520 will be opeining up for the 2/18/06, though there might already be a hold on it..or not??

Hmmm...what I could do with $1000 right now!! Overall a good investment for us though....right??

So who else actually went & put down their deposits for 2006??

We have put our deposit down for summer of 06 but still have a hard time w/ the price for summer of 06!  :(

We booked for May 2006 & it is about $1K more than our May 2004 cruise. That is about 30% price increase over 2 years...

This will probably be our last Disney cruise and we will try one of the other cruise lines after that.

*edited*

I just looked at prices for May 2005, cant compare them exactly because Magic will be on left coast for most of May, but 2006 is cheaper than 2005... just keep telling yourself that waiting a year is saving you money ;)

markmyboy,

Welcome to the 8/19/06 special western sailing. We already have about 94 Disboard members on this sailing. Come visit us at the cruise meets board.

I just put our $1000 down on the Sept 2nd, 2006 Magic! Under $3600 for four of us in a category 6...couldn't help but book immediately!!! I need to do a little insurance comparisons before purchasing but I definitely plan on getting insurance for this cruise, just in case! :D ;)

markymyboy, I know just what you mean. I paid $1250 deposit today for the 19th August 2006 cruise and had to swallow hard as I did so, especially as this means I now have two cruises to pay off! Ah well, it's only money!

Put down $1200 for July 2006. First cruise. Go to insuremycruise.com for quotes. I can get insurance for $129 for my 7 day land and sea package. This same cruise for 2005 was $100.00 dollars cheaper per room.

We booked the Aug 19th, 2006 cruise last week. I bet half of that ship is filled with DISers! :teeth:

We are also on the 8/19/06 cruise, stop by our thread and join in. If you let the 2/18/06 cabin go today then didn't you just switch the deposit from 0ne cruise to the next or did you put both on hold and have to decide which one you wanted?

My husband gave me the "It's only money line" when he went & bought his Mac laptop & iPod on a whim, so I find myself using that line around more & more lately!! You can be sure he heard me say that a couple times this weekend while we figured out what to do about the 2006 cruise!!

We are going on a Royal Carribean's Voyager in a few weeks. If we like it "more" that DCL we may be cancelling. So far we have tried Carnival & Norwegian cruise lines, but DCL is still "the cruiseline for us", which kinda stinks because it is so darn expensive.....Not that big of a problem in the scheme of things, because, hey...it's only money!!:teeth:

Yes, we put in requests for both dates, initially we wanted Feb. 18th because that week was cheaper than our son's Easter vacation week, but then we heard about the new itineraries & I thought I would just ask the agent how much that last one in August would cost (thinking it would be MORE than the feb. quote) and it turned out to be so cheap that I asked her if "our room" was available & she said it would be alright to hold both dates until I could talk to my husband. We weren't TOO sure with all that has gone on with this hurricane season, ultimately we decided on the Aug. cruise. It is $1000 cheaper & we are usually just happy on the ship if something "should" come up!!

We booked our Aug. 19th 2006 the day that the prices came out. I only had to come up with 500.00 for two people. So it didn't hurt so much. Tina

I just booked 8/19/06 as well! Although much better price than in June and July, it is still pretty hefty! And so far away... but 2 days at Castaway Cay is too good to pass up!
