My family will be at WDW from 12/26 - 1/4 and we are so excited! We are staying at the CR with a MK view. My question is this- does anyone have any suggestions on what to do/not to do on New Year's Eve/New Year's Day? I know the parks will be super crowded, but anyone with experience during this holiday will be so helpful! We want a frustration-free experience! Thanks for any help!

Since you'll have a MK view I say order room service and then watch the fireworks from your balcony, you'll have an AMAZING view with no crowds!

Parks are so crowded and noisy. Last January, Disney started handing out hats and horns around 2 pm. Young adults....all they did was blow their horns. By 5 pm , we all had headaches from the horns!

My son was in a wheelchair. People were tripping over him. One man landed in his lap! They would not move for a wheelchair and they continually cut us off and were tripping over his foot rest and then giving us dirty looks! This was Magic Kingdom.

It is bumper to bumper people. If you are not staying in the parks....leave earlier (before midnight) or be prepared to stay in parking lots and roads until 3 -4 am. Traffic is at a standstill for hours!

I totally agree with palmtree girl. I would order room service, sit back, relax & enjoy the fireworks.

I was at MK on NYE once, and although the fireworks were so amazing they brought me to tears....the crowds were awful. So if you can see the fireworks, you are golden. That is the highlight.

They actually had to queue off the bridges to the lands to keep traffic flowing (keep people to the right, like driving). It was insanity!

I too agree with the OP'ers, if you have a MK view, I'd head back early to avoid a jam up, and enjoy the view of the fireworks from your balcony, sound like a good choice.

I suggest you bring your patience suits. It will be crowded like you have never seen before. Unless you've been on other days like July 4th, when they actually close the park off to any more guests for most of the day.

Like others have said...stick to your resort for the nighttime, and get to MK early if you want to do that park that day. Like any day the earlier the better as far as lines are concerned.

Thanks everyone for the great advice! I think we will stick to our room for the fireworks. We at one time had thought about making reservations for the California Grill, but decided against it because the view is already paid for! Thanks also for the "during the day" advice - it sounds like a great day to explore other resorts and maybe the pool if warm enough! Thanks again! :goodvibes

We'll also be in a MK view CR room for New Years. We plan on either going to Epcot or MGM during the day. At around 9:00pm we want to head back to the resort. We'll order some snacks and celebrate the new year from our balcony in our pjs!
