Well, any news about the incentive changing?

I am dying to hear! I think the old purchase incentive expires this weekend. Any idea if it will be extended or something new (better/worse) will take it's place?

Just curious. Not that I want to add on or anything. Well, maybe. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

I don't recall Disney tipping their hand prematurely before, so we'll probably know more come Tuesday.

I have heard they are running short on Developer's Points, so extending the current offer may not even be feasible. All of AKV (Jambo) has been declared into inventory and SSR isn't far behind (less than 1 building left.) Both of those seem headed for a sell-out in 2008, so DVC will need the '08 points for the eventual purchasers.

This may be a stupid question, but will does there come a point when someone won't be able to purchse until they either open or announce the next one (probably the Contemporary)? If so, how much more time do you think they will be selling AKV and SSR?

DVC has at least 3 confirmed projects at various stages of development now (AKV, Grand Californian, Hawaii) and that doesn't even include the Contemporary. They can also sell 50-year contracts at OKW thanks to the extensions being offered to owners there.

I don't forsee DVC will EVER say "come back in a couple months and THEN we can sell you some points."

By the time SSR and the Jambo units at AKV are sold out, they should be able to start selling AKV's Kidani Village (scheduled to open in just about a year.) AKV is going to be selling for several years to come--particularly with sales split among multiple destinations.

SSR will technically sellout by summer, with some of the use years "sold out" in the spring.

Jambo House is 1/4 of the total inventory at Animal Kingdom. Kindani Village will be finished about December of 2008. (They have had excellent weather and is way ahead of schedule). So by mid summer AKV will be the only "new" resort being actively sold. Not sure when you will seen California sales start, probably early next year.

DVC will have plenty of points to sell thru 2010, probably start running low by 2011 which is when Hawaii is to open!

As PP mentioned they also have 50 year contracts at OKW now as well, to help fill any gaps (sure this was well orchestrated for that reason), CRV and even the POSSIBILITY of a THV to SSR, although that would probably be available about the same time a Kidani for units to open up. The economy slow down actually might come right in line of any availability isses that DVC has....not to mention they can realisticly presale Kidani if Jambo sold out and just dump all those into the system at opening.

Now might be a decent time to get a little more frugal on incentives, just to ensure they don't sell out too much inventory....I would see maybe keep the $ off initial costs, lose the developer points until Kidani is close than kick those incentives back up.

Just talked to the 800 number. NO NEW INCENTIVES right now! They said to call back in a month to check again.

THe old incentive is gone as of yesterday unless the person called and left a message for a guide before business day end yesterday, in which case they will honor the previous promotion.

Ah well. I hope something new comes out. I got 3 of my friends interested in the program. Katherine

I just called in and spoke with DVC and they told me that they had extended the old incentive until March 8th. He said they just found out a few minutes ago. I don't know if this will help anyone else, but I was able to buy in with the old incentive!

Hmm, now I just need my guide to actually return my call. Ok, actually I am not getting enough points for the incentive to kick in, but it's amazing how impatient you get when you are waiting for that call back.
