Well, about that Bush/Olympics Ad

An act of Congress, last revised in 1999, grants the USOC exclusive rights to such terms as "Olympic," derivatives such as "Olympiad" and the five interlocking rings. It also specifically says the organization "shall be nonpolitical and may not promote the candidacy of an individual seeking public office."

Sounds like they have the legal right to decide when and where the word and the images will be used.

No lawsuit neccessary if Bush will simply comply with the law.

Thanks for posting this information. Very interesting. How is it possible with the millions and millions that this campaign is spending that they don't have their act together. Not that I'm complaining, exactly...but they really are looking very unprofessional this week. Did anyone see the Republican rep last night on the Daily Show. Jon Stewart really made him look quite the fool.

He really thinks he's the King of this country. Let's show
him the door!

"In 1972, there were 40 democracies in the world. Today, 120," an announcer says. "Freedom is spreading throughout the world like a sunrise. And this Olympics there will be two more free nations. And two fewer terrorist regimes."

Replace "Olympics" with "year" and the problem's solved. The message is still the same... for the 50,000,000 who now have a chance for a better life.

I would laugh if Bush was sued over this it would serve him right for being o arragant to think he could do this and get away with it.
