My husband & I have owned DVC since 2005 & have never been to a "Welcome Home Wednesday." My question is...is it worth going? Will my kids (ages:14-9-6) be disappointed going? I'm just wanting to know is it worth carving out the time?

You are paying for it so you might want to go at least once.

Nothing there to make me go again unless I happen to be at the boardwalk with nothing to do.

It's basically a commercial for DVC. Your kids will be bored stiff. I went to one at OKW many, many years ago and one at Atlantic Dance not quite as many years ago.

Go once and see what it's all about. They seem to get the children more into the games now.
Worse case you given an hour of your time and you had some snacks and a gift (baseball cap) when you leave.
