GF just called me that her Mom died. This is my close friend that we enjoy the "Butcher Fest" with and shared rooms with in college. He Mom had Azheimers and the call to me was that "Mom is not confused any longer." Still sad to lose, but blessed she is. I feel the desire to be there with my friend now, but cannot leave b/c of DS's needs.

Prayers and blessings to you and your friend's mom. One of my close friend's dad is currently suffering from that debilitating disease. It is just awful to watch them lose a little more of themselves each day. My hope is that her mom now "lives" forever with all her wonderful remembrances past..... :rolleyes2

Kimmie ~
Is it my imagination, or is NBC being CHEAP with the ham shots??!?!?

Did some shopping this morning. Saved $145 at JCP. Bought some Southpole shirts for all my guys. I love a bargain!! :bounce:
My dishwasher is all set. Ran a load to make sure everything is working fine, and it is. YAY!

Yes, Beth, it is a quiet dishwasher. :teeth:

Welcome back, Nancy!

Prayers for Jon.

Junior has to work today. Two of the boys are at BIL & SIL's. The other 2 will be going to the other BIL & SIL's later tonight. They are spending the night. Tomorrow we are going on a bus tour (with my mom and brother) to the Greektown Casino. :bounce:

Tired here, so half a catch up

Welcome home Nancy!!!!!!

I'll keep Jon in my prayers

Feel better soon Bethie!

We were shopping all day long... so I'll ketchup later!

Watching Olympics now. There were Ham shots? Well whaddyaknow, I missed 'em.

Sherry, glad that it's working fine. Yay! too for the gambling trip. Have fun and win lots.

Elaine, hope ya got good things too.

Didn't do as much as I should have today, Oh well there's always tomorrow!
:teeth:

Hi y'all... just watched Elizabethtown with Luis. He liked it a lot!! And he thought my boy did a great job with the accent! I think I'll keep him some for that ;)

Paula, before I forget... thanks for hte card! I got it after I got home from WDW! Much appreciated :)
And wow, hockey sounds huge there! Truthfully we are a more of a football kind of town, but I do like watching hockey a lot! Between that and college football, those are my favorites to watch at home.

Lily, I think I only managed to stay up for the ceremonies because I was waiting for Luis to come up. he was working on his computer

Nancy, so glad you are home, but yuck on the delay! I must admit hearing you and Pam had me laughing. just the squeals and laughter back there! It really sounded like y'all had a good time on it! Though I couldn't imagine it was your first time on it, glad it wasn't. I would've been shocked to hear that (especially knowing you made it on the Hulk which is far more of a coaster to me... and even more rough than Space Mt :p)

Kimmie's gettin' a new kitchen, huh?! Whoo-hoooo!! Are you going to be allowed to use it or just look at it? Although, I suppose you can manage getting out the milk and cereal, right?! j/k
I think they'll allow her to look at it... maybe boil water (sorry couldn't resist Kimmie)
Not sure if Pam realizes we are harmless or not, but honestly, she and her hubby are on good terms... he has my cell phone number now you know ;)

Sherry yay on the good deals! and a huge woo hoo for the dishwasher! I couldn't live w/o mine!

Lily, actually we went shopping more for luis than for me. I did try on some jeans, but I couldn' justify the cost. I will just stick to my $30 Old Navy I think. But the best part is we had a good time together.
Though we did get me a new pillow. I'm just "dying" with the one I have so we are testing out a latex foam one. I am getting rather desperate now.

Well I think I am off for the night. Ihope y'all are having a great weekend!

* AHEM *: [ :rolleyes1 ]

I'm pooped....but the house is clean, the unpacking is done, the kitchen is stocked ....still a bit of laundry to do.
going back into the routine of movie and lunch tomorrow.
I think we are seeing The Matador....anyone see it?

Glad to hear Elizabethtown is good....thinking of that one for Christin's Easter basket.

Might be planning another Disney trip this year :teeth: We'll see.

I need sleep. Taffy kept waking me up last night "talking" (she is usually the quiet one). Guess she missed us and had a lot to tell us about.

Nancy, wow! You work fast! Another trip too! You go! That is fantastic. The World or your coast?

Kimmar, Ahhhh, sigh.

Elaine, great you enjoyed your shopping trip.

Good night all.

Evening all. Getting into the groove with the inlaws. I think it's the first time MIL saw me dressed for working, lol! :teeth: They've always seen us in time off mode.

Jon, don't know if you pop in here, but prayers for strength for you. Been down that road, so if you ever need...feel free.

Nancy, sorry about thinking you were a first timer, just the reactions made me think that way! :rotfl: :teeth: :rotfl: You two were quite entertaining!

Lainey, nothing special on Friday, just when I get the cable hooked up. Ed and the boys are doing the    that I've acquiesed and called the cable company.

Bethie, yucky on the cold!

Bummer on the lite ham!

Got the day off. Hoping to do something fun. We've got our choice of the state fair or going over to WDW for EE. Not sure which will grab the menfolk.

Suzanne

hi gang,
no ketchup

been getting taxes ready to take to my acct tomorrow at the mall (she is a lead at TDS). Then with only one child I was able to set up a table and scrap in front of the tv. I do admit that his help was more of a hindrance!! But I did manage to scrap 6 pages since about 2 pm and its 1 am now!!

going to bed now. hope to get back here tomorrow!!

tara

Morning Ya Yas!

Shoveled snow already.

Tara, that is amazing that you were able to be so productive. What a great helper you had there! ;)

Suzanne, I know which one we'd pick. Have fun whatever the choice. Glad your IL time is adjusting.

Rise and shine everyone, no sleeping in. It's time to do something. Pray a little too. Later...

Good Snowy Morning Everyone!!

We have about 6 inches here so far - very blustery. Alyssa's trip to Ryan's got cut short due to the storm...he brought her back last night and thankfully got back again himself just as it started to snow. She was so dissapointed - she called and asked if she could just come home instead. That's my girl - when she gets overwhelmed she just wants to be home. Shell be home next week - either friday or Monday - depending on if she goes to Ryan's first.

Good morning LIly - I'm up and working this morning. ;)
Hi Tara - schrapping and TV?? Life is good!
Hi Suzanne - enjoy your day off!! :woohoo:
Nancy - house clean and planning another trip......I am jealous!!
Elaine - most welcome for the birthday card !!
Prayers for Jon...

Have a good day everyone!!

Well, that's a mighty nice thing to wake up to Kimmar ::yes::

Nancy, I'm still pooped and I haven't done quite as much as you. Though shopping for Luis' jeans (which I promised him last week I would) took a lot out of me.
I admit I am shocked Luis liked Elizabethtown. It's a kind of slow paced movie that was more about the feelings than anything else. He laughed pretty much the whole time (very subtle comedy)

I'm as curious as Lily... which trip are you planning now?

Suzanne, enjoy the cable! That is a big deal to Luis ;) And have fun wherever you wind up going. Obviously we know EE is good :p

Tara, good luck with the taxes... so much fun to go through, eh? ;)

LOL, Lily, I was able to sleep in some today, though sleeping in is until 8 for me :teeth: We only got a dusting of snow. That's two weeks in a row they were off for what we were supposed to get!

Paula, so sorry that the trip got cut short. I hope she has a nice time at home next week. When does her semester end?

I need to get ready for chuch myself, though. I'll catch y'all later!

Arghhhhh! Ed just left, his sister's got congestive heart failure (again), so he's headed over to Lakeland. Guess the day will be grocery shopping and cleaning, woohoo.

I'm thinking that I'll be painting next Sunday while Ed's watching the Daytona 500. I can't sit still for a whole race. To do the painting, I still need to empty out the office. So that's the plan.

Back later.

suzanne

Good morning.

Sleeping in is 7 for me  Taffy was better last night though, so I did get some sleep.

Suzanne, hope SIL is alright
You can tell I like a coaster if I scream...... :teeth: That is my coaster enjoyment. If I am quiet, I don't like it.

Trip....well, beside the 2 already planned (Oct. and Jan), Christin and I might squeeze one in....May possible. Or she may join us in Oct. ....not sure yet. Her choice. She might want a girls trip. We haven't had one in awhile (but she doesn't do coasters).
Gotta look at finances too.

I can't relax with a mess, so the rush to get it all done yesterday. Makes me feel better.
Monday I get to go get mail and deal with that. I'm sure there is going to be a huge pile with lots of junk....and a few packages shoule be there too.

Opinions....in the pile will be our travel documents to Las Vegas. I need to get Geoff's to him as safely as possilbe. What is the best way?
I just don't want it to get side tracked and do a trek across country like some of his priority boxes have done

No snow here :teeth: And the rain has stopped.

:bounce: Bumping from page 3...

Stil snowing here - we have about 10 inches so far........

Busy yet relaxing day. Luis and I went to church then out to lunch with friends. Went to John's favorite (Skyline)... YUCK! Sorry, and a few were ticked off that I didn't get to pick. The rule is supposed to be that for your birthday (a Sunday that falls close to it) you pick. One fmaily has been hogging the choices. Not to be petty, but only one family was keen on Skyline.

Anywho, after that we went to Target and then sat at home and watched Willy Wonka. I set up a roast for tomorrow that I will put in first thing in the morning.

Suzanne, best wishes for your SIL

Ah, so I can tell that you really didn't care for Hulk much at all then, Nancy! I don't think there is a way you can tell I like a coaster or not until you see me get off the ride. If I am really smiling, then you know I liked it :teeth:

Paula, sorry about the snow. I talked to my brother some (in NJ) and they apparently got a lot there too!

Need to start today's supper soon. Luis isn't all that hungry, but I might as well do it early so I am not stuffed for singing.

Hope y'all are enjoying the day!

Afternoon, folks! Having a very lazy weekend trying to kick this cold. Stuck my nose out last night to go feed Jon's cats just as the snow was starting. Haven't been out since, but I've looked and it's gorgeous!! It finally stopped falling about an hour ago--we got somewhere around a foot of snow locally, but I hear they measured 21 inches just north of us in Maryland. Church was cancelled, which was a bummer because our bell choir was supposed to play today. :sad1: So, I've been scrapping, doing laundry and watching the Olympics. I know I should be unpacking more boxes and all, but.......Got a pot of white beans on the stove with a big ole ham bone simmering in them. Starting to smell really good, now! No, Kimmie, not THAT ham bone!!

What kind of snowfall did you get, Kimmar? The news mentioned all the airports from here to NY were closed, so I'm sure you are pretty well frosted over, too.

LOL, I heard there are like 9 members of the men's Olympic hockey team grounded here in the US, due to the snow. If they are able to get out tomorrow, they should be able to make their first game in Turin, although they will be fighting jet lag. Should be interesting, to say the least!

Paula, I'm so glad to hear Ryan was able to get Alyssa back safe and sound and himself too! It's supposed to go down to 18º tonight around here, so it's gonna ice over REAL good. Hope ya'll stay safe up there!!

That goes for you, too, Jellybean!! Where are you, anyway? Missing you, girlfriend!!

Time to change the laundry loads and do some folding. Hope everyone is safe and warm and enjoying the end of the weekend. :grouphug:

SIL has been admitted to the hospital, my sweetie should be home around 7 for spaghetti and meatball dinner. Yep, congestive heart failure. She seemed absolutely fine yesterday.

Ed's having a hard time. It seems like any time we both have a day off (rare as plutonium these days), we have a family crisis to take care of.

Lainey, I think you get next Sunday's choice. Mention it to another family to have the more mothy person say "I don't think Elaine got her birthday choice last week, it's her turn to choose"

Bethie, that's nice of you to take care of Jon's kitties.

Time to make some meatballs. House smells like marinara, yummy.

Suzanne
