Quick hi and bye! Found a dress... yay! I'll have pics and an informal poll later ;)

Of course I realize the pic of me in the dress is bad since I am lacking "support" and to make sure the dress was up, we had to tie it tighter than usual :rotfl: but I wanted pics to decide which necklace I liked best. I keep wavering.

Need to fly.. spent time with sister today... so no time at howm :wave2:

Happy Birthday, Tara! Hope your Melting Pot experience is yummy-I love that place! Sounds like you'll have a nice, lively group!

Happy,6000 me! I had to share it with my yaya family.

Lainey, dress is for a wedding, right? I've got to see if my wedding guest dress fits :rotfl: . Four weddings to go to-had enough funerals for 12 weddings, before anyone says it!

Pooped out-gonna crash early. Sorry for the eiop!

Suzanne

Just wanted to let you know that I'm home and tired. Eight hours of sleep in three nights! Yikes.

Brief stuff here:

Loved spending my birthday in Disney World, enjoyed wearing the birthday pin. Got free desserts all over the place, lots of happy birthdays.

Got the pleasure of taking Scotty on Expedition Everest, and we sure had a lot of fun. It was nice to spend some one on one time with him. Usually we only get to chat for a while at the bar, and when we've been away from the bar, there have been others around.

Loved Expedition Everest. Very exciting and intense. Awesome ride.

Trip report will follow.

Back from church... tired...

Sherry, so glad you got everything done! Sounds like a nice time for after :)

Nancy, where is Christin visiting currently?

Tara, I am sorry about the loss of money. I've never trusted the insurance thing at all because of the fear of that lost (if that makes sense). I hope you had a blast at Melting Pot!

Suzanne, I am not sure, i don't think I ever said waht it was for actually. It's for a thing for church. Needed a more formal style than what I own.

I'm jealous Karen! I keep hoping I'll get on the ride! So gald it is awesome!

I'm off for the night :wave2:

Morning....

Happy Belated Birthday Tara! Sorry to hear about the reservation charges.

Weekend went well. Survived our youth group and guests this weekend.

Have a great week everyone!

Morning Ya Yas!

Tina, great to have you stop in. Miss ya.

Tara, sorry about that extra charge stuff. Stinks for sure. Happy Birthday!

Elaine, take your allergy meds!

Amanda, good that your weekend went smoothly.

Sherry, Whew! I bet everyone is tired after the moving fest.

JRKaren, Glad you are returned safely. Hope your birthday trip was fabulous!

Karen, hope the week goes better than your weekend.

Bethie, new cleaning service; sounds like it is in order for sure! They better not charge your account! Seems like a BBB call perhaps.

We are getting ready to take DS for his surgery. I didn't sleep well. I look forward to the healing and him getting all better.

Butcher Fest=We go to my GF farm where we then meet up with the family who are packing the beef they have grown all summer. It is a month-long tradition for the weekends where all are family and they participate in the process of processing. This city chick has learned a lot over the last couple of years by attending and helping out there. After the job is done for the day, it is a burger lunch, visiting and clean-up.

Good morning.

Good luck, Lily...always so hard to watch your child go to surgery...no matter what age

Welcome back, Karen. Glad you had a good time.

Morning all! Tired and yucky today (not sick, just yucky)!

Amanda, so glad you survived the weekend!!! I hope you get a few moments to yourself sometime soon!

Lily, no worried, I remembered it last night. Amazing what a difference these meds make on me! Thanks for the butcher's fest description. I even asked my former farmer dad and he had never heard of it.
Best wishes to your son wih the surgery

Nancy, getting excited for the trip???? I still have a bunch to do this week and given my schedule on Friday & Sat, I suppose I need to be packed on Thursday.

Okay, poll time ;) I put the dress on yesterday (w/o proper "support") and need opinions on necklaces. I am not sure which I like best. I think I like the style of one, but not the particular necklace itself. So just let me know which you like. And yes, the dress is tied a bit funny, but I had to keep it up ;)
dress & necklaces

Hi everyone - quick hello before chiropractors appt.

Elaine - hope the yucky go away soon - loved the dress pictures - my vote is for necklace #2 :thumbsup2

HI Nancy - whatcha baking this week? I hve to do choc chip cookies for Ryan - if I run out of ingredienst I'll know were to turn.... :goodvibes

Lily - prayers and good wishes for your son's surgery

Hi Amanda - glad to hear your weekend went well!! :wave2:

Welcome back JR Karen - your birthday trip sounds great - can't wait to read the report.

Hi Suzanne... :wave2:

I'm feeling better - thankfully!!! I guess you could say that we had our own "Butcher Fest" here too - DH came home with about 30 pounds of hamburger yesterday.....
Good news - I have started to do things for myself - I called this morning and volunteered at my church - really looking forward to being "part of something" - when the kids were growing up I woudl never think of doing something for me - now as I get older I realize how important it is.

Hope everyone has a good day!!

Kind of excited ;)
Not packed.....still don't know what to pack. But it won't take me long once I make up my mind.
There is a mouse running around the house somewhere....and the thought of leaving it isn't sitting too well....so hopefully we (or the cats) will get it before we leave.

No cookie baking this week, Paula ....NO TIME!! :hyper:

Good morning Y'all-Y'alls.

Happy belated birthdays to Highland Flinging Karen and Princess Tiara :)

And congratulations on 6000 posts Suzanne!

Monday morning work stuff...moving on...

Paula, glad you are doing things for yourself now! I know that is always very important to do!

Nancy, good luck with that mouse! My kitties have always helped me to trap and release the rare few we've ever found. Good for something I guess!

and I had to laugh at teh "kind of excited ;)" response... it finally hit me this weekend that Feb is about to come and I have a wee bit to do between now and Saturday night

:wave2: Hi Alan... but working? Huh, didn't realize y'all did that down there :p

Welll...I am excited to actually get there, not so excited about the getting there part.....too long a trip.
The mouse is still running around  The kitties are bored with it now :(
The thoughts of a dead mouse in the house for 10 days isn't too exciting
Some other things on my mind too....but I will start packing today ;) At least Dave's stuff. He is easy ::yes::

Yuck Nancy!!!!! I'll let you borrow Gwenie! Sheh never tires of mouse catching or the like. She even will try to hunt down a new one if we remove the old! She really is an amazing hunter (sure didn't learn that from Cleo... though she isn't bad)

Good luck packing though... I will be waiting unti the end of the week for me. I want to decide then which shirts to bring. Knowing me, I'll pack double what i need though :p

Kind of drugged up on pain meds... so I feel about as slow as the boards are loading ;)

Hey gang,
thanks for all the birthday wishes.
Had a great day yesterday. The melting Pot was fantastic as usual. I was stuffed last night!!

Today mom and Jarrod are making me a cake and we will do family dinner tonight!!

Jarrod did well at his speech and language evaluation this morning. He tested out in the above average range for vocabulary and language use...the lady was really surprised given his history and his birth prognosis. On one test he was REALLY high and she even said that he was a smart kid!! :cheer2: But she did find enough errors in his articulation to warrant speech therapy. Now we have to see if it is severe enough that the insurance will pay for it. If not, I don't know what I'm going to do.

Jarrod was fine when we got there but by the time it was over he was hiding under a desk :( He was very anxious and stressed by the thing. We got home and he was super clingy, but after he was told he could watch some tv and have a cookie he relaxed and calmed down a bit. Its nice that I understand/know that when he does this stuff it is due to his anxiety and not that he is a total brat!!

Anyway, gotta run and get to another !@#$%%^^ meeting! Lily...good thoughts to your DS!!

I'll be back later..I hope!!

Oh, me ol' fondue, me ol' fondue
I had a filling birthday with me ol' fondue

Oh wait...wrong song? :teeth:

Abigail has recently started speech therapy. We had to pay to have her tested and diagnosed, but once that was done, we take her to a local public school twice a week to meet with the therapist.

The mouse is still running around
The cats are too lazy to get off the window seat and leave their heat lights to do anything about it. Hopefully tonight. They like "playing" at night more anyway. (As long they don't bring it to me up on the bed  ).

Tara....did you try some new things at the Melting Pot? Yum.....brownies ;)
Good for Jarrod doing so well.
Doesn't your school district provide speech therapy?
Aww...Alan has one going too.
Both my kids went. Christin for a short while, Geoff for longer.

The boards are moving SUPER slow for me today....taking forever for a page to open, so I guess I should go see about actually putting something into a suitcase.

Be back later :)

Tara, enjoy the family dinner! That sounds lovely! good luck with the speach therapy as well. Hopefully you can find a good way around it ::yes::

Alan :p

Nancy, yuck on the thouht of a mouse on your bed at night. Maybe you ought to turn their lights off to see if they move ;)

New thngs at the Melting Pot though? I didn't realize. I'm off to look at the menu :teeth:

We do turn the lights off at night ;)
We'll see what they bring.

Hope everyone is having a good evening.

I finished packing. :teeth: Just need to add a few things in the morning.
Now what will I do all day tomorrow?

Hi gang,

Alan thanks for the song and dance routine!!!!

Nancy...I didn't try anything new...I just eat it all. We had enough people to have two pots so we got the traditional Swiss and the Wisconsin trio for our cheese, and then we did the Cort bouliion (please don't count spelling :teeth: ) and wine based one (not even going to try and spell that one!! Then we had the Chocolate with the Bailey's Irish Cream and the Ying and Yang. Yummy!!! I love all the things on the dessert plate. I swear I could eat one whole plate by myself!!

As for the speech...I tried going through Jarrod's school but they speech paths there said that his delays were developmental and that he would out grow them and that if he didn't by 3rd grade then they would look at him again. I was going to just go with that, but since the counselor thinks that it maybe contributing to his "issues" I'm just going to have to suck it up and pay for it. I am, however, going to send the report to his school and let them know that he will be getting the services even if they think he doesn't need it. I understand that with special education the problems have to be adversly affecting his academic performance. This isn't, it is affecting his emotional stability. I guess if it were causing him to fail they would pay attention to it. I dunno!! I don't get it.

Alan...good luck with Abagail in speech. I know when they catch them early they can really help them. My brother was in speech until 6th grade and he still hates that he was in it for so long.

Okay, gonna go to bed. I can't keep the eyes open and the spelling is really suffering for it!!
Elaine...i'll check out your pics tomorrow when I can think more clearly!

hugs to all!
tara
