We traded our HD box (cable co) for a DVR (cable co) so DH has been busy figuring it out. Today I need to check it out and figure out how to work it. I'm so excited. I've wanted one for years!!

Shep is right...would should be able to make the final decision on Chicago this weekend. We have no plans on Saturday or Monday ...now if the girls would just let me sleep in for once

It was nice getting Mandy off to school today...
I was sitting here on the computer while she was watching the bus and when the bus came I walked out with here and before she got on she turned around to give me a big hug....without me asking for one.. ...

Down day for me. Need to do something to bring up my spirits. It doesn't help that Mandy seems to be down about school. Her closest friend in the class moved last month, she still sees him but he is at a different school. She said that the last 2 days no one has sat with her. Mandy is very independent and doesn't realize that everyone isn't going to do what she wants. I tried telling her to sit with them if there is a space. She said what if they said no... All this on top of losing her Nene...that is a lot for a 6yr old right now.

SPRING......I better get moving on losing the pounds or I won't have close to fit.

A HD box is a High Definition box. Our cable co. just got them and we had one for about a week, then Junior found out DVR's came out in our area, so yesterday he switched them. DVR is digital video recorder. It is like Tivo, but doesn't do some things that Tivo does.

Why, Elaine!! I am SHOCKED and APPALLED that you think I would take this opportunity to mention that we all know how much you love Craigie-Poo and his magic fingers......

And I can relate to Mandy's problems at school - my DD has always been independent, too and had such times - she's now a senior in HS - and that independent streak has paid off - because most of the kids are doing the "clique" thing and going out and drinking and doing drugs - my DD prefers to hang with her BF or one or two close friends.

I so agree with Pam on the independence! My DD is VERY independent also and it has so paid off at college. Nothing phases her, she can get anything accomplished she sets her mind too......and she doesn't care what anyone else thinks.

So...Pam, you coming to Chicago too??

Sherry...I hope you get to go. That room rate Elaine found is a good one .......please come. I'm sure hoping to and I would like to meet as many of you far-away folk as I can. Might be the only chance.

Pam...I think Mandy gets the independent thing from me...I wanted it in her, now I just have to make sure she keeps it and her self-esteem for the same reasons you mentioned about your daughter. I was just like your daughter when it came to not being with the group. I actually hung with every group depending on what I felt like.

Elaine...A haircut does make me feel better, but right now I am growing it out. I would have to cut it short to get a good feeling from it. Walks also make me feel better, but I need motivation and time to do that...don't have either right now.

Dan...we will decide this weekend about Chicago. It would be great to see you again.

Liz...who will nap for everyone if you get a job
