Hi all - went back to work today - still sore - but need to $$ for vaca!! Actually I did call my chiro yestreday - he said that most likely in addition to the broken bone "everything else" is now out of alignment - he told me to try working tonite and if it's that bad he'll see me - otherwise I have an appt on Monday.

Pam - many congrats to your parents on their 50th!!
Elaine - Happy Birthday wishes to Luis - yuck for the busted pipe - shoes - etc- hope the day gets better!!

OK - I have a confession to make - I feel like the biggest hypocrite....putting on my "happy/positive face" for Alyssa - when I really just want to go get her and tell her she can just stay home with me...por kid she is trying very hard - not sleeping .....I talked her thru buying a bus ticket to go see Ryan this weeend (being from a rural area - even public transportation is very intimidating) - I think I'll send them both packages today.

Well - that's all I have for now - oh yeah - forgot to tell you about Chris - working almost every day now - determinded to get a car - unfortunately has very expensive taste so we'll see how that goes......

Well, how can I resist this one!!

About the only thing humorous was last night at bowling. I one drink the whole night (Mike's hard cranberry lemonade). Apparently it hit me all at once as I got up to bowl, wnet through all my motions (ball in the right place, feet in the right place, butt sticking out in the air, head down...) All was good until the "feet" part and then for some reason I moved and forgot to take the feet with me and I fell sideways into the ball return. Of course since there were 20 people watching me I felt the need to turn around and take a bow!! Hey at least I didn't fall all the way down like the other guy did!!

Oh, and bowled all of my games over 130!!! not a bad night!

Dennis the menace had a good day yesterday. Although he was a bit wild at the dentist this morning. No meds yet b/c he hadn't really had medicine. When I walked back to the cleaning area there he was looking like Mork...head in the seat...butt in the air!!! At least the doc thought it was funny!!!

Okay, I have goons to deal with! I'll be back later! I hope anyway!!

Awww.....Paula. It will get easier for her. Christin had the same problem.
She had to figure out and haul a huge bag to the bus to come home on the holiday breaks. She hated it and wanted me to come pick her up for them all But it makes for a strong person ( )

Morning, all!

I'm annoyed-I usually keep stuff that is useful for work to train others. One of my prized things from when I was a personnel director at a McD's franchise was their wallet cards of the customer relations 10 commandments. I can't find the blasted thing. I used to be able to recite them verbatum and expound upon them, but that was 12 years ago. I'm typing them out now, and I can only remember the first five.

It's funny, when I threw out the training manuals from Hamburger College, I KNEW I'd need stuff out of them, but was so focused on getting stuff OUT. (BTW, I made deans list there!)

I remember what I tell about the others, but not the actually commandments!

Yep, doing something I love to do, just frustrated that I can't do one thing that I really want. I'm making a motivation wall for work-anyone want to die cut Disney shapes and send them to me? I've got a plan, and I'm gonna do this one piece at a time. I want the team to wonder "what did Suzanne add today?" I've got the first one, but I thought that this should be the second!

Yet more strangeness from me, I must say!

Gotta love friends. I was IMing with a former coworker and I complained about not finding the darn thing...of course, he put my googling skills to shame and found a powerpoint document with it on there! My motivation wall will be going strong Since I got the green light, I have a feeling that this will drag me into the scrapping thing!

Nancy, onion cookies sound so yummy-not! I like onions and I like cookies, but not at the same time.

All printed out, so off to work I go.

Any requests for WDW this weekend? If I get to MGM, I'll be picking up a mug for Paula (I didn't forget), I'm on the topper hunt for Liz and Nancy (and Bethie?). We're headed over Sunday, and so far, it's up in the air as to where we're going. Depends on whether we see friends from Maryland.

Cross your fingers...In laws have A CONTRACT ON THEIR HOUSE!!! They did an open house this past weekend, and there were five bids. They're getting asking price (comps are a little higher than their asking, but the interior needs some paint-everything else is good)

I have a feeling we'll be using all eight chairs at the table this Thanksgiving!

Paula, I do hope work goes well for you and that you won't be hurting too much! As for Alyssa, I know many who have gone through that. They gave it a quarter or semester before they fully decided. Hopefully she'll get into the groove of it all in a few weeks

And here I thought I was the only one foolish to power wash in bare feet. I actually aimed the wand at my foot to wash off some dirt. I asked myself "How much can it hurt on a low setting?" And I found out the answer. "A LOT!!!"

Note to self: If one ever decides to power wash the house be sure to wear steel toed shoes if one wants to keep said toes attached to ones foot!

Elaine...I know, darn no camera when you need one!! Hey at least I wasn't trying to do the dance of the Seven Veals!!!

Okay, gotta finish here at school so I can go home and do more work But on the positive side, my biggest class (the one with 18 kids...which included the emotionally disturbed one, the anger management difficulties one, the one on anticpsychotic meds, the one with the baby, the two that are close to 16 in the 8th grade, and few others who are your basic Learning disabled kids) finally has some relief. They moved two kids out and gave me an assistant. I am so happy I can't stand it. Just having her in here with them made all the difference in the world!! It was like a totaly different class this afternoon!!

Keep on eye on Ophelia! She may be paying us a visit. I haven't seen the news today so I don't know if she is a hurricane or a TS. Last time I saw her she looked like she was heading for my friend's house on the Outer Banks of NC. Its already a little windy and a little cloudy here from her outer skirts!!

The cookies are good!!
One is like a flat onion bread.....savory, no sugar.
The other is with chocolate chips. Just a regular type recipe with onions thrown in. Sweet onions, so they work well. A little sweet "pop" here and there.
So...they were much better than the jalapeno brownies were

Now John, I didn't wash in my bare feet... I had flip flops on
We did try once to see how much it would hurt, but we have an electric with one that goes down for adding detergent... on the very lowest setting for not using detergent, it stung. Today it hurt like a bugger!

Tara, glad to hear the good news in your classroom. My eye has been on Ophelia, and it does seem she will be a hurricane when she hits... though she will be a very weak one. Not that it helps. I feel so bad, I remember when the Outer Banks was basically destroyed not too long ago.

The cookies might be good, but my stomach doesn't like onions I can only cook with dehydrated onions, or I have to cook with huge chunks and take them out for me. It sucks (since I do love them).

I guess we are going out to dinner tonight. Luis won't tell me where, but I know that my usual attire should be okay. And then after that I don't get to eat until after I get blood drawn tomorrow morning... I hate that

You know it amazes me the way the weather geeks start salivating at the thought of a hurricane. There is all kinds of coverage up here, though we do have people that get the local stations down in OBX but our weather is different from theirs. they are showing us to be getting a little rain and wind on thursday. not a big deal. However, they keep sayiing that Virginians aren't taking it seriously...well, dang people we get noreasters stronger than this! I think they are looking for stories now! Oh well, I have cookies, diet coke, pbjs and tortilla chips. I should be good to go for a while!!

Okay, gotta get a snack to hold me over until dinner.

I can't concentrate now, I'm on the phone with my uncle and he is talking to hear himself!! hehehe So I'm gonna go!

Oddly, I haven't even had time to look at Ophelia. I'm being reminded strongly of how little weather I actually got to look at before I started forecasting. Ah well.

Ouch, power washing injuries! I'll keep that in mind if I ever feel inclined to wash something powerfully. *snerk*

Sounds like lots of exciting plans setting up for the weekend. I think mine will involve a textbook and lots of eraser shavings but maybe I'll play some Disney music while I'm at it.
