Morning all... not such a good start to the day. I have been tired this week and I guess Luis forgot to turn on the alarm clock. Well, I woke up at 5 am, and let myself fall back asleep... stayed that way until 6:30... yep, I work at 7 am ;) So, I got out of bed, took a really quick shower, got dressed and was out the door at 6:45. Pulled into the parking lot at exactly 7 am. I am really still halfway "out of it" though since it was such a rush.

First Kimmie's just a twit and now she is my smilie stealer!!! Meanie ;)

Prayers are said for your boss Karen

Lily, I am laughing at your comment about sleeping well... only because I did and look waht it got me :p

:wave2: Howdy Rose Mary! Don't be such a stranger!

Pammy sorry about that yucky snow... the ice for us was the killer part yesterday morning. Only got an inch or two though here.

Karen, I will say (sorry Beth) that DC area is full of "whimps" and honestly they just do not know how to deal with snow. A couple years ago, we got 2 feet of snow in a weekend... they got some, but no where near us and not even a foot (maybe 6-8"). Luis' brother was home from work for like 3 days because the roads just were too bad. Amuses me a little ;) And good luck deciding on the iPod. Sometimes it's worth it and sometimes not.

Amanda, that's cool you got some back due to the Magical Express. I hear the transporation from WDW to the coast is very nice though. I was thrilled with the bonus. Plan on getting a thingie installed in my car to play the iPod, put a decent chunch down on my DVC loan, and save the rest. Kind of nice to have extra money :)

Okay Beth, you just made me wish I lived in VA... to get off for 4" of snow would be heaven as a kid!!!! I think we had more ice days than snow ever *sigh* Glad you won't have to rush though... be safe!!!

Morning Sherry :wave2:

Oh I think I'll be happy today... it's GS Cookie delivery day :hyper:

I might have made too little mention of the bonus thing... we used to get a quarterly bonus here at work... then it was changed to an annual bonus. Granted the annual bonus would be fairly close to what I would get quarterly, it was still nice to get it in pieces rather than all at once. Anywho... we weren't slated to get one, and then our CEO fought for us and the board approved it... so bonuses for everyone :hyper:

I am also getting a "merit based bonus" I am not eligable for a raise for complex sort of reasons. Mostly because we were given salary increases due to high turn around (our salaries were like $15K less than the competetors) however they neglected to give us paper promotions when they should have. So I have been here over 5 years with only one promotion (some of it is because I had crappy supervisors, others due to management not approving them at all even with salary increases... go figure!) So instead of a salary increase since I am near the top of my bracket, my old manager was kind enough to give me a small bonus to help make up for that. So next week I get my annual bonus, merit increase bonus as well as my regular paycheck. I'll probably faint when I see it :p

So there... that's the happy "Lainey has money to use" thing for me :)

Oh and don't forget Bethie is

gotta get a lot of work done. I'll come up for air when I can ;) see y'all later!

Good morning.

Karen....sorry to hear about your boss. Hope all goes well.

Weather? ;) But I hear rain is coming.
But our schools would be closed if we got 4" of snow....at least for a day or 2.

Not much going on here.
Pam...if you can whip Christin up a dress that mets all those specifications....do it!!! Fur is fine. We don't get that hot in May ;)

 RM.....good to see you.

Our girl scout cookies have come and gone, lol. We had 2 boxes of thin mints and 1 box of Samoa's and they were gone in no time.
Karen--Im so sorry to hear about your boss. I will keep him in my prayers.
Smilies huh?

Morning Ya Yas!
No time here just now. Wanted to add

Karen, Prayers for your boss, family and friends continue. As Beth said, I don't think I would have been able to figure out getting him to ER and all. You did great.

Morning!!

It was a very busy day for me yesterday....but gotta say it was great fun as well. Got up really early to head to Chicago for a job interview. The interview was not until 1, but we had tickets to go she Sweet Charity and really did not want to park 2 cars downtown....so Greg dropped me off that the 6:40 am train for my 1:00 appointment.....so had LOTS of time to kill! What a fun day of walking ( I did manage to get a lot if that in, over 6 miles) and exploring! And the interview was not so bad either. Unfortunately, the job is a contingancy position...which means maybe 1 shift a week....no benefits......but hey, if offered I may just take it as it could certainly be the foot in the door I need....of course while continuing to look for something else! I hear it is pretty easy to pick up some shifts as well!

Sweet Charity was excellent!! Christina Applegate was the lead and I was very pleasantly surprized. She sang OK, but man she could dance!! Poor thing had the part of a dumb blond.....but I gotta tell you, she has the part mastered and was hilarious and perfect! I was not a big Married with Children fan...but I gotta admit, if I were to see it with somebody else playing the part...it just would not be the same!

So what did I miss? Sounds like  is STILL in trouble over some snow....we were supposed to get an inch and got nothing!! :p

:scared1: good luck with the return of the iPod. I saw LOTS of mini's on the train yesterday...and a Shuffle or two. They seem to be quite the popular gadget.

princess: is gonna keep her iPod.....can't blame you there. Once you get your music uploaded it is kind of nice to have tehm so handy. Of course getting the music from the computer to the iPod isn't the hassle that getting the music to the computer that is such a pain!! Enjoy your :music:

:teacher: please give  a big hug and keep one for yourself in return!! I hope you guys have a great weekend! A little minin meet sounds like a perfect wayt to enjoy part of a weekend!!

:drinking1 so this was all you idea huh? Man, it figures you would start something like this....I have a hard enough time keeping names straight....and now this! Thanks!!!

 I am here...just a busy little beaver!! ummm wait, I mean a busy gal....never call yourself something that could easily be mistaken as roadkill in the presence of Pam...it could be VERY dangerous!! Sorry about all your slick condidtions.....you know who's fault it is....right?

pirate: , how goes the shopping? Good luck in the quest for the little black dress.....sounds like it should be an easy task as most every girl should have one in her closet...but why is that NOT the case!

:sunny: how is Azmarelda fitting in with the family? Have you borrowed her pretty little necklace yet? I think she needs to share that with you.....just every once in a while!!

:teeth: sounds like Ed really enjoyed his surprize. I am so happy you could do that for him. How are the hives? Hope your are feeling better and not so itchy!! Itching is just the worst!!

:wave2: did you get a package yet? I sure hope so!!! What is up with you? We have been missing you! Hope all is well and that you are not working too hard!! Stop by when you get a chance.

:) congrats on the bonus! Always nice to have a little $$ to get some bills paid and a little extra to play with!!! A convertable in Florida does sound like a very nice treat as well. Greg and I have done that once or twice and have not regretted it!! Hope you can find one for a reasonable price!!

Bonnie, prayers being said for your firends. What an awful situation. Big hugs headed you way!

Amanda, feeling better? Sure hope so. Did Todd take good care of you? I told him to!! Hope you are able to enjoy the weeeknd.

RM, good to see you pop in!! I have missed you. You must be VERY busy with all those men in your life.... Don't forget to stop in with all the details every once in a whole!!

Deana, a FREE trip? Any room for me????? Sounds like oyu have that budget thing worked out oh so well. Any chance you can plan my free trip too? LOL!!

:p What is up with you? At least I think this is Kimmie, from Kali, with Kam as the kid and Tom as the hubby.....how am I doing so far?

Kristy, how goes the baby making? LOL!!

Alan, you have been far to quiet....what is up with that.....tah can only mean you are eitehr getting in trouble somewhere else....or we are about to get another one of your brilliant posts!!

Hi Paula. Your kitty is very cute....and Fluffy!! Hope you ahve a great weekend planned.

Hey Suzie, what is new in your neck of the woods?

Brain has turned to much!! Methinks me needs a nap already!! Anyway, that is it for now...mad, mad, mad love...one and all!!

:rolleyes1

Karen, I am so sorry! Keep us posted. The prayers are continuing here.

Poor Nancy and her sig. I wish I could help you. Have you asked about it over on the tech board?

and now she is my smilie stealer!!! Meanie

You walked six miles?!? You'll be ready for the marathon in no time, at that rate!

I will keep the fingers and toes crossed for the right job to come along very very soon Liz.

Thanks, :drinking1

I need to print that cheat sheet out and then go back and read Liz's post!!

DEENA!! Come to my house, honey. I shoul dbe getting $85.00 of GS cookies any day now! :earseek:

I ordered lots to send to our soldiers that we adopted and here one came home last week and the other should be arriving in the U.S. within the next 10 days. So - I have lots of cookies (and 8 CASES of BS popcorn!):faint:

Elaine - DD's college tuition is due - just mentioning this - no pressure or anything!!! ;)

Nancy - does Christin prefer mink, raccoon, fox, or muskrat? Or - how about a dress of many critters????? :rotfl:

Hi everyone - more snow here - about 5-6 inches - light fluffy stuff. This is taken from my side deck - looking down the driveway. The white truck is my daughters - it's dead - won't start.

I wasn't on the DIS at all yesterday (the horror!!) - so let me start by saying a blanket helloooooo :wave2: to everyone and send hugs and prayers to those that need them.

My son and I spent the day together yesterday - we had a great time - ate Chinese at the mall food court - I bought him a winter coat and a shirt - he also got guitar picks and a DVD (Anger Management) - I bought a bunch of goodies for Alyssa - I think she's having some "end of high school" jitters - she is very stressed this week so I thought some surpirises were in order ...oh...and I also did some Exchange shopping (I don't want to give away any hints but there were some very cute Easter/Spring things at the Disney Store). BAB was so crowded that you literally cound not get in the store - there was a line outside - so I had to pass on that (Christopher was happy - bringing your 16yr old son in BAB is pushing it - hahaha).

Today I am homebound - my car is at the body shop - thankfully it's right down the road - I brought Alyssa to work first and the body shop owner gave me a ride home. Guess I have no excuse but to start cleaning the house!!

I'll check in a bit later.
Paula

Yes, I did....on the 22nd...no one answered :(
And then it was buried in all the questions, etc. with the counters and picture stuff.
I just popped it back up....oh well.

Pam...any kind of critter will work as well as any other.....just tell her it is fake, or she will not be happy ;)

Ohhh...good idea, Pam. Elaine.....Christin's tuition is due next week ;)

Nancy - A wedding on my 50th birthday. How considerate. :cheer2:

Have you looked into the alternative countdown timers that WebmasterAlex mentioned?

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=748671

To recreate a countdown:
The countdown generator we used before won't work now. There are several sites that will allow you to create countdowns and then link them in your signature here. Some that other users are using already are www.tickerfactory.com , www.lilypie.com , www.tickercentral.com , www.daisypath.com .

IMPORTANT NOTE: We do not support or recommend any of these sites, but are providing the information to get to them as a convenience to our users. It is still your responsibility to be sure that anything you link in your signature meets the DIS signature guidelines. Many of these countdowns are a little wider than the existing signature guidelines allow, so we will be increasing the allowed width of signature graphics to 420 pixels to accommodate them.

You may have 2 countdowns in your signature.

Pam thanks for asking for that cheat sheet....I'm getting REALLY lost when trying to do a read through. Todd...I'll be :flower:

now I gotta jet again :moped:
