Nancy, Oh, good! Just in time too! :teeth:
I know you will enjoy, bring us back some pics.

Elaine, I know that feeling oh too well. I am glad I decided to not go to the stores then. I am sure we would be boiling at work too as we have boiler heat that once they turn it on they don't turn off til Spring.

Kimmar, well, all that nice weather is going someplace. I think that the low for tonight will be the high for tomorrow. 20º difference at least. Oh it sure was nice.

We were at dinner tonight...DH took me to Winking Lizard in Macedonia.
TC yelled hi...didja hear?
Part way through he gets a call and had to go to work. On the way to drop off his lovely bride he gets a second call for a totally different area. Well this will make almost 60 hours for his first week back. Nothing like working your folks to death. Sure wish he would get OT paid for this or at least a decent salary. So, no DH for a while and he will be so tired when he gets home.
:(

Have a wonderful trip, Nancy :)

Lily, it got so humid here that we actually turned the a/c on again at home! Felt more like beginning of October than almost November here.
Sorry about dinner being interrupted like that :( Someitmes Luis wishes he could get OT as well, but at least he gets a good salary and other such perks.

Trying to decide what to wear tomorrow at the shower. I hate hate hate wearing work clothes on the weekend, and all my clothes really don't fit well anymore. I might cheat and put on my new pair of jeans with a really nice sweater set and nice pair of shoes so I look like a classy casual. Meh... maybe I shouldn't care either :p

:wave2: Everybody! Well, it's 3:00 a.m. here (really 2 I guess due to our time change  ) Don't know what the heck is up with my internal time clock.

:Pinkbounc :bounce: Got my exchange name and can't wait to get shopping.

Alan, Very beautiful young ladies you have!
Elaine, work stuff you are going thru sounds like a PITA!
Sherry, Great deal on coats! Thankfully, we don't really need coats here but, DS decided he doesn't dress "cool" enough :smooth: and needs new clothes?!
Beth, hope hubby is feeling better.
Lily, should your DH be working so much already?
:wave2: Todd & Amanda, bet the girls are all excited about the weekend events. Can't wait to see pics.
JRKaren- REM cool! I haven't been to a concert in forever. Styx was here while I was away :( .
PAM-I'm not a'skeered of you or any ole' package you might send. (:scared: ) How ya' been?
Hey Deena, How's it going?
Nancy's gone to Disney :( .
:wave2: to all I missed!

Went to get a new cell phone and spent way too much $$$ but, it is a really cute little red camera phone. Now all I have to do is figure it all out. :teeth: Had to treat myself on something after all those long hours

Take care all! Back to try to get a few more hours sleep.

 puckerup: :rose:

Happy Halloweeen! :)

Today is Jared's 11th birthday. He's my little goblin. :teeth:
After church, we are taking him out for his b-day meal. Still not sure where, yet, though. :teeth:

Had a fun day yesterday. Jonathan won best costume at the church party. :bounce: Had a great time hanging out with family and friends. Played Scene It?, too, and had a blast. :teeth:

It was a BEAUTIFUL day yesterday. Too bad today won't be more of the same. :(

Tonight is trick-or-treat, as well. My nephew is coming over to go out with the boys. :)

Have a wonderful trip, Nancy. :)

Off to wake the boys and then we gotta start getting ready for church!

:wave2:

Morning all! Enjoying the extra hour of getting ready today ::yes::

Nancy, cannot wait!!! I am particularly interested in seeing castle shots :)

Rose Mary, what phone did you get? I am just curious because the same one I have comes in red as well :teeth: I'm such a sucker for a cute phone though ;) Good luck getting your internal clock fixed... I hate it when mine gets messed up.

Sherry, congrats to Jonathan!!! And sounds like a wonderful day!! Most importantly...

Happy Birthday Jared!!!!:bday:

Going to church & lunch with friends after (as usual) and then I have the shower to go to today. Not sure why, but I am so not a fan of showers. Some are fun and others... well... let's just say I've said teeny prayers that they would end soon ;) Not sure what else I will do today though :)

Hope y'all have a great day!

Happy Birthday Jared!!! :cake:

Have a great trip Nancy!!

Matthew and I went to Buzzfest yesterday. They had many bands there. We saw Story of the Year, Papa Roach, Breaking Benjamin (met them and got their autographs--very nice guys!), Seether (okay but lead singer was whiny due to equipment problems) and Velvet Revolver. There were many other bands there but we had to stand in line a while to get autographs so we missed Chevelle and atleast 1 other good band.

Michael finally got his first pay check :bounce:
Oh, those of you with working teens: Do they claim exempt on their withholdings or claim 1??

Deena, never heard of Buzzfest, but that sounds fun.

As for tax with holding, I was *always* told to claim zero as a teen. Actually to this day, I do believe I still claim zero because as a dual income family w/o kids, we get screwed on taxes if I claim 1 and file jointly (as I always do). I think you can only claim "1" if you are married or have kids.

Off to the fun shower... hope it is actually fun... enjoy the day all :)

Happy Birthday Jared!
Deena, Not certain about tax claiming for underlings. I think our DSs claimed 0 and got it back at the filing time as they were under 18.

Hey, gang! Didn't mean to ignore ya'll, but I'm back down with this stupid bug I picked up. Feeling positively crappy.

Deena, here's what IRS says: "You can claim 1 withholding allowance for each exemption you expect to claim on your income tax return. You can claim a withholding allowance for yourself unless another person can claim an exemption for you on his or her tax return." In other words, Michael should claim 0 because you claim him as a dependent on your tax return. Unfortunately, it's not optional and you can't decide to NOT claim him and let him take his own exemption. He MIGHT be able to claim EXEMPT, but that's always iffy because it is difficult to predict how much income he is going to earn between now and 12/31 and whether or not he will have any tax liability. IRS says: "You can claim exemption from withholding for 2004 only if both the following situations apply: 1) For 2003 you had a right to a refund of all federal income tax withheld because you had no tax liability; and 2) For 2004 you expect a refund of all federal income tax withheld because you will have no tax liability. If you are a student, you are not automatically exempt. If you work part time, or only over the summer, you may qualify for exemption from withholding." Oh, and it's just an exemption from income tax, not from Social Security or Medicare.

OK, enuff of that........

Happy Birthday, Jared!!!

and high five to Jonathan on winning the costume contest!! What was his costume?

Great weather here today--forecast was for a high of 77º. Currently it is 79º  and they wonder why we're all sick?!

Gotta get back to bed--head is splitting. Hope all have a great day!

Hey all!! Quick Halloween peek!!

Happy birthday to Jared and Leia!

um Hello to everyone else....I think my ketchup bottle is empty!!

Jarrod is going as a fireman tonight and Ethan as a dalmation. Jarrod has been a bit of a twit all afternoon, so I may take him out and dump him somehwere, you know give him as a Trick rather than a treat!!! hehehe j/k!

Been watching monster house all day and cross stitiching!!

I'll post pictures of the kids later in the week!

Take care all!

tara

oh ps., my boss talked to me on Friday and told me that I had disrespected her with my emails....and she basically told me that if I hadn't sent out those emails we could "work" things out so others wouldn't have known that she didn't show up and I wouldn't be in trouble for having an "illegal" meeting. So I guess instead of getting her into trouble I could have lied and she would have sworn to it! glad I did the right thing!! Now if I can keep from getting fired ( ie. keep my mouth shut and not tell the wench what I think of her! ) life will be good!!

lator!

Tara, I can't even think of what to say to your post about the "boss."
:earseek: I don't think I could just not say anything further about the entire reaction you were given. I would be in trouble because of it for sure. If the management doesn't support you, I'd wonder what interest they are supporting, the kids or theirs. OMG
I am sorry you had to endure that from within. I understand that from time to time parents are not always easy and understanding, but to have management being dishonest and not on behalf of the kids seems intolerable.
Be careful now that you have someone who is not happy with you.

On a more happy note, I can't wait to see the pics.

Beth, thanks for taking that tax question. I was hoping to learn from you. Oooh maybe Kristy would have known the answer too as she has most recently become the learned one in accounting.

Sherry, I meant to congratulate Johathan for his prize winning. We gonna get to see any pics?

Hope I get to see lots of kidlet pics in costumes. We get no one to our door, so must enjoy elsewhere.

Happy haunting everyone!

Hi all... busy but good day here. Relaxing finally with a good book or two (or four). Gwenie is currently walking by me and rubbing against my legs while purring. Such sweeties I have :)

Bethie, I hope you feel much better soon!!!

Tara, good luck with your boss... what a PITA she sounds to be! Did you get pictures of your boys to share with us?

I thought I heard something. I was outside raking leaves. All afternoon long. I could have used a dinner break.

We saw EpcotKilterFan at The Incredibles screening on Saturday morning. Next time you'll have to drop by for dessert. We could always take you home if DH gets called away.

We had about 180 beggars this evening. We were prepared for 240. So we have LOTS of leftover juice boxes.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween.

:wave2: All!

Only one knock at my door this evening and they were gone before I could get there.

Tara, I think you did the right thing in the first place. For me, it would be very hard to keep my mouth shut and keep my job after all that. Good luck!

Happy Birthday Jared! Hope it was spectacular!

Elaine-I got a Sanyo PM-8200. Love it but, still trying to figure out what ring tones and screen saver I want. Glad you made it thru the shower.

Beth-You need some chicken soup? Hope you get to feeling better :sunny:

Went for a walk on the beach this afternoon. It was an absolutely lovely day. Haven't been to the beach since all the hurricane activity and couldn't believe how much of the beach has eroded away :( .

Ok, off to start settling down for the evening. First day back in the office tomorrow. Oh, I can't wait  !

 puckerup: :rose:

Hi my Ya Ya friends. Just making one of my rare drive-by postings. Can't wait to see some of y'all in a little over a month :wave2:.

Hi Krista :wave2: I will be one of those there in a month too ::yes::
Hi Rose Mary :wave2:
Thanks for the info Beth!

This is a drive by...

Hi, I'm back, very tired, MNSSHP very nice, got to ride the new Stitch's Great Escape, had to deal with several major meltdowns (including a whole family meltdown), and BOUGHT DVC!!!

Very very sleepy. I'll ketchup tomorrow!

Suzanne

Morning! :)

Thanks for all the b-day wishes for Jared. He had a good day. :)

Had a pretty good turnout for trick-or-treat. Not as many as last year, though. I was freezing. My nephew had a blast. It was his first time (he's 2!) and he loved it. He even walked right into someone's house. LOL

I did get some pics. Not sure how well they came out. I'm still learning our new camera. Will try to get them uploaded soon.

Saw the first sonogram pic of my new nephew/neice. :bounce: My SIL is 3 months already. :bounce:

Beth, Jonathan was Elvis. :teeth:

Gotta go wake the boys!

Morning all!!

Wow!!! 180 kids?? We thought we did great with about 50-75 this year

Rose Mary, you have my phone :teeth: I think it is just as cute as can be! I was going to get red (because of OSU colors) but they were out so I just stuck with silver :) Have fun playing with it. It's really one of the best phones I've had in the last 4 years or so. Now if I could only find a plan and stick with it

:wave2: Hi Krista!!! You reminded me... anyone want to make plans for meeting? With all the other stuff I've had going on, I've kind of ignored this trip :o

Hi Deena!

Suzanne, you have to tell all about Stitch as well as DVC!!!! Congratulations :hyper:

Sherry, sounds like a great day for y'all. Sorry it was cold for trick or treating. I talked to my FIL (just outside of DC) and he said they were wearing shorts & t-shirts for theirs last night
