Kim,

I rented a house with PURPLE tub, toilet and sink in Maryland. And the first house I bought up there had a bathroom with mint green fixtures. But you're right, everyone leans towards wood up north. Down here, it is laminates.

Okay, scrappin yaya's: Check your local Target. The dollar shop at the very front of the store has some great stickers for scrappers. I need to find alphabet ones for one of my other DIS friends, but they had some cute ones!

Suzanne

Sorry to hear about your job Tara but maybe its one of those for the best things. I bet you find a good job in Florida and you'll be closer to WDW so maybe you and the guys can get there more often.
I havent been to a good crop in a long time. The place I used to go to moved theirs from the 2nd and 4th Saturday to now just the 3rd Saturday and thats my Bunco night
I was baby showering all day and now I think baby fever has set in. Im sure it will pass but right now it seems like a good idea, lol, but I dont think we will be going for it again.

Deena,

I could add you to my email list of two friends that get the "NO YOU DON'T WANT ANOTHER BABY AT THIS AGE!!!!!" email whenever they talk about it. Sure, I'd love another one, too, but I have SOME self control (and a tubal)

Sorry Kim, didn't know you would go and spend poopie loads of money at Michael's. Now THAT is a dangerous store-don't let me visit custom framing without a chaperone!

Suzanne

Good Morning All

Suzanne what wonderful pictures of the house. I love your color choices.

Lainey Im sorry you couldnt find bedding but glad you found some shirts and a dress.

Im just relaxing with a cuppa coffee before we have to go to church. Today is a View to a Call for the new pastor. Hopefully we will get to see him preach. We vote on him I think next Sunday. It will be nice to have a regular pastor again. Today is biblical character dress up day at Kidz Church. The boys are going as Michael and Gabriel the arc angels. Dh and I are not dressing up as we could not find costumes to fit us. After that we are just going to come home and relax. Later today Im going to see one of my friends who is also now my coworker who had surgery on her back last Thursday.

What does everyone else have planned for today?

Morning all! Luis is still asleep and I have Gwenie curled up by my side. He can sleep for another hour though before he needs to get up and get ready for church.

Nancy, sounds like you are having a nice time. Good luck getting back on diet stuff on Tuesday!

Suzanne, I love your house so far. Very pretty :) The open plan reminds me of what my friends have in their house. It's very convenient and nice to have.

Kimmar, I will be of no help to you. The scrapping bug hasn't hit me at all :p

Deena, spring is coming and that doesn't help either ;)

My precious just curled up closer to me... she's adorable :)

Karen, enjoy the day! I must admit though, voting on a pastor seems so foreign to me. We are just given ours and that's that. Good luck though.

Today we ge to do our usual Sunday deal... church and then lunch out with our friends after. We are coming home and doing some cleaning stuff. Luis will finish up on taxes (we're gonna hate writing that check to them, so I doubt we'll send it in for a while), and possibly I'll get some laundry and ironing done :) Nothing too exciting.

Lainey I know its foreign to me to vote for a pastor too having been both Catholic and Episcopalian in the past. We were just given a priest and that was that. Here though you have to like the pastor and like the way he preaches or you can vote no and not offer him the position. We have now been a year and a half without a regular pastor. We were supposed to get one during the summer but the guy withdrew his want of the position and went with another church. We thought it had to do with the hurricanes down here but come to find out he took a pastorship with a church in Hollywood Florida.

Morning Ya Yas!

Kimmar, glad to hear you are getting in touch with your creative side. Scrapping has not hit me either. Have fun with it.

Elaine, sing well...solo today too? Enjoy lunch. I love it when I can curl up with my pets. That for me is a quieting time and can sooth me instantly.

Suzanne, great pics. I would be oh soo excited right about now. It won't be long yeah!:hyper: :hyper: I bet it will seem like an eternity.

Karen, hope you enjoy your service and that the pastor will work out for most. As Elaine said, we don't get to pick here either, we get whoever is assigned at our church as well.

JRKaren, sorry I missed chat last night. I had it ready to log in and then got otherwise distracted. It was that kind of day all day for me.

Deena, sign up with Suzanne! You are a great Mom for sure but--You need to be in the "rent a kid mode" instead. You can give them back that way.

Nancy, at least you will get back on that diet. It is just such a struggle to make those good choices here too on some days.

Pam, you might try once again. You have matured. Maybe better ready to participate? :rotfl: :rotfl:

I had some sad news from my GF about her neighbor and her DH's best friend. I know him from attending gatherings at GF's. Anyway, he shot himself last Thursday. He had been out of work for a couple of years with difficulty holding jobs as his age was a factor on employment and he was alway the first to be cut in new jobs he could land due to downsizing issues. No one knew how distressed he was. My GF's DH is so upset; he was mentioned in the suicide note along with the immediate family. It is tragic. I've been praying for them all.

I had so many interruptions yesterday, I basically caved and didn't do much of anything. I think I needed that as I am much more energized today and ready to face my day with enthusiasm.

 Have to get ready for church, but wanted to pop my head in and say HI!
I scrapbooked till 12:30 Friday evening. We had hardwoods installed in our living room downstairs on Friday and we're going to turn it in to an office. So we were out and about shopping ALL day yesterday for stuff to go in the room(like a tv stand, curtains, etc). Now it's off to church and then shopping again. We did however sneak a movie in yesterday. We saw Robots. It's pretty cute, but I think it's more for the adults, not the children. Okay.....catch y'all later. :moped:

I don't know what page we are on so I'll bump us up!! Hi gang!!

sorry you are bored Nancy.,

Karen and Susan thanks for any info you can get me.

Ugh! Kids whining now...gotta scoot!

Hi y'all... need to get cleaning, but wanted to stop in.

We got a lot of stuff done today. We are finally replacing some cruddy stuff we once owned with real things. So we replaced our cheapy K-mart $40 for 100 piece set with some nicer Noritake dishes. Really simple but very cool looking.
No bedding yet ;)

Wow, good luck Karen. Couldn't imagine going that long w/o one.

Lily, no solo singing today. I should be clear and free of that for a while... well maybe will get hit for Easter, but I'll know about that next Sat. I am actually glad not to do things like that for a while.
My prayers are with your GF's DH... so very sad :(

Kristy, good luck getting everything you need done!!!!!

Sorry I wasn't around for you Nancy... we were out and about earlier

Now I have cleaning to do. Catch y'all later :)

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to tell you all about what I decided in regards to being my cousin's son's confirmation sponsor. After a lot of thought, I decided that it wouldn't be right for me to be his sponsor when I felt so strongly that it was wrong for him to be confirmed at such a young age (and some documents I saw from my church recommended that kids be over 13 before being confirmed), and when I felt that I would never have been able to be a close presence in his life.

So, I called my cousin today and told her about my decision. She told me she had been meaning to call me about it as well. She said that the confirmation is going to be on April 3rd. As it turns out, his older sister (who has been living in Ireland for a couple of years) is going to be in town that day. She is his Godmother as well. The daughter was disappointed that she was not asked to be his sponsor, but my cousin didn't know that she was going to be in town. She didn't want to ask me not to do it, but me telling her that I wasn't comfortable with doing it gave her an out. So, in the end, it turned out well.

Although, my cousin did lay some guilt on me about it. As I had briefly mentioned, I've only known my cousin for three years. She harbors a lot of resentment that she grew up away from the rest of the family. She told me that she was looking at having me as his sponsor as a way for him to be connected to the family. I told her that he still has all of us. He has a lot more family then he knew he had a few years ago.

So, I guess that problem is solved.

Quiet day here.

JRKaren, glad that issue is over for you.

Elaine, sounds like you are making shopping progress. Smart thing too, saving some retail therapy for later. You go! :teeth:

Hi Tara!

Nancy, sorry you were bored and no one was here to play with you.

There is still more evening to fill. Not sure what all I want to do with it. Washing clothes now.

JRKaren, I am glad that it worked out for the best. I still cannot believe he is being confirmed at sucha young age!

Lily, we are slowly making our way through it all. It's been fun looking. We are in for new glasses next. I would like to get some with a charcoal/gray hue to the stem or something, but we'll see what I can find.

Howdy Kimmar!

Hey Kimmar! You scrapper you!

We have friends who are of Lebanese descent. Their church Baptises and Confirms at the same time when the baby is an infant! Well the daughter wanted to attend Confirmation classes with her friends and was not permitted bc she had already received the sacriment. They go to the church of her friends as well as to the Lebanese church some days. I told her, too late though, she could have gone to the classes as a sponsor of one of her friends. They all would have loved it as one or two were not pleased with the choice they had in sponsor. I found it really pleasant to find a young one who really wanted to do this. Interesting in the way religions are practiced.

...I HAVE been known to be 'scrappy'! (NOT to be confused with "Crappy"!! :teeth: )

Evening.

Wasted day here. We went to look at the house and Neil had a mega meltdown as we were heading to lunch. Alas, we headed home and there we sat. Oh well, had a nap and now I'm not even sleepy!

Just figured I'd pop in.

Tara, I'll get that info to you in the next day or two.
