My DS starts on Sept. 8. We deliver him to school on the 4th. I have very mixed feelings. He will be 3 hours away

bfeller: may I ask what your DS is majoring in? I'm taking screenwriting and film history this term(journalism major in my case)

Sure..the more the merrier! But I only have boy stuff so anything girlie you need we dont have. lol
The year my first goes off to college is also the year ds #3 will start school--I think I'll be pretty traumatized all the way around lol. Then the same senario for ds #2 and #4 two years later.

DD starts back to school on the 25th. I think she'll be leaving here the 21st.
Betty, you get used to it. It's kind of nice actually ;)
She's 6 hours away.
Has 17 units this semester and a part time job. She likes to stay busy

I'm, preordering Nemo too.....just for me :teeth: I need to get Lion King ordered too.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

DS is majoring in Sports Industry.

Nancy I may need some consoling come early September....I took one look at the dorms and can't believe that I am letting my little guy stay in stomething that looks like a solitary confinement.

Deena, I can play with boy toys........oh you mean toys that are meant for little boys to play with.....my bad

Oh and Chris is taking 17 credit hours this quarter. They suggested 16-17...he will hopefully get a job on campus because dear old mom and dad are not sending money.....hopefully he is saving a lot from his summer job.

bfeller: may I ask what that is(sounds kinda like a pe major). My sister is a business major and I'm journalism so two different worlds

It is a a combo Phsical Ed and business. Basically working on the business end of professional sports.

Hi everyone,

thanks for all the hugs, I needed them yesterday. Today is a little better. Jarrod and I went to visit her and she said she can breathe a little better right now and that the pain is slightly less. But she is exhausted and having a 3 year old running around like a wild man didn't help matters. I tried to calm and quiet him, but she just shhhed me and told me to let him be.

I made a giant decision yesterday and then another one today. My son has never spent the night with his father, I am very protective. But recently Dad has shown some improvement in his parenting skills and the two seem to really adore each other. So my mom and I were talking about my upcoming surgery and I told her how Jay's mom had offered to take Jar with them to WDW in august (dvcers) the same week as my surgery. But I vetoed that idea. I started thinking about it and decided that if jar was going to go away from me for several days, I would feel much better if I let his father take him. You have to understand at this point that Jay is always left at home to take care of his parents animals and his sisters dog. That is even the reason they give for when I have asked why Jay wasn't going. Anyway, I decided that if Jarrod was going to go away for a few days, esp. to Disney that I wanted his father to be the one to take him, not the grandparents. Don't get me wrong I get along with Jay's mom, but there are some control issues there with her and Jay. So i called Jay a little while ago and proposed to him, that if he could get the time off from his job and go with his parents, he could take Jar with him for a few days. since mom and dad have the dvc and usually get a big enough suite for a family of 10, I don't think that would be a problem. Jay said he would have to check on his money situation, I told him to tell his parents that they wouldn't get to see jar in Disney if he didn't go so maybe mom and dad would help foot the bill for Jay and Jarrod. He is going to get back to me tomorrow or the next day. Then he asked if we could have a trial run on Wednesday night during Jarrod's usual visitation and keep him over night. I almost cried at the thought, but i agreed and told Jay not to expect to get too much sleep that night, b/c my boy would be up most of the night.

So now that my nerves are shot, i think I will be taking advantage of the no child at home and have a drink or three on wednesday night! I hope I survive.

Deena-I know you have boys that leave you. How did you do it when they were young?

I know others are sending their children to college and I can't imagine that either.

Okay, going to lurk around. Back later!

Tara, sounds as if you are going through a rough period. Aren't making adult parent decisions the worst but it sounds as if you are doing a great job.....My thoughts will be with you.

sometimes being an adult really sucks!!! I'm trying to get through it all and keep my sense of humor. Thank goodness I have plenty of people around that I can talk to or just vent!!

I should have my own soap opera "As Tara's Days of Her Lives Turns into Another World While visiting General Hospital". I like the ring of that. I must go write my first episode...back later! hehehehehe:D

Thanks CS!! Good luck with your classes this fall!!
tara

if ya need a writing partner I can help ya....my soap opera is titled Kristy's one rollercoaster life to live

Many HUGS and PD to ya!!!!!! And remember.....we'll all be here for you Wednesday night while Jarrod is away.

Now.....how is it all the rest of ya's (kids included) get to go back to school later than me??? I have to start back on the 20th....only two more weeks....but also cut it to 3 hours this semester. Would like to be able to enjoy the house and marriage without worring about homework.

Off to do more cleaning!!

Knock-knock?? Geez, I've missed ya'll! You didn't go and rent out my room, didja?

It's been a week and a half the last few days and I just couldn't find the time to play online. Been super busy at work and summer vacation is over for the two choirs I am in at church.

I forgot to take notes, but here's a little ketchup:

Tony and Sherry, I don't know how you guys could have done Adkins for ANY length of time. I am a self-confessed carboholic, but I have learned to limit myself. Then there are days........

Von, I'm sorry I missed your birthday yesterday! Hope it was a good one and you spent it doing the things you like best!

Nancy, sounds like the trip was highly productive, "educational" and glad to hear you are home safe and sound. When does kitty come back home? So sorry he/she has to stay at the vet's for treatment. Hey! Did you get your Mickey scissors?? Mine arrived today!!!! I can't wait to get back to my scrapbook project!

Tara, I am keeping your grandma in my prayers. I know how hard it is, I watched my dad go through the same thing only he skipped the chemo. Will add Jarrod and his dad to my prayer list too. God bless 'em both!! And you, my dear, try to relax and feel the power of Ya Ya prayer. We'll all be there with you in spirit through your surgery.

CS lucked out with only 2 classes this fall! So, what are you going to do with the rest of your time? Are you working too? Your classes sound fascinating to this old girl--they didn't offer any such thing when I was in school!

Aw, Betty!!! {{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}} for ya, mama!! Gotta let your little birdie fly on his own, huh? Will keep you both in my prayers, my friend. They all gotta grow up sometime.

Kimmie!!! Did I hear someone was trying to steal your man??!!! Oh....it was just his wife-to-be and mother of his children-to-come? Whew! Glad to hear you remain #1 as his other woman!!

Kristy and Tara! Ya'll were cracking me up with the soap opera stuff!! Many, many years ago, I lived in an apartment complex in Cleveland. All the tenants were either old retired couples, or single, young twenty-somethings. I, of course, was one of the latter! We used to joke about how we were going to write down all the escapades that went on there amongst us and sell it to Hollywood as the next big soap opera--instead of Peyton Place, they'd have The Wellington Arms!!

Deena, you must lead a very interesting life with two sets of boys so far apart in age! Hard for me to imagine having one start school and another start college all in the same year! Then I remember my college boyfriend who was so embarrassed when his mother presented him with a new baby sister in the middle of his freshman year.

Liz is off to Myrtle Beach, I know. Heard her screaming to me as she cruised around the beltway trying to find 95 south!! I never got a chance to warn her about the construction there..........

Hee-hee.....I'm getting Nemo for Christmas too!!! DH preordered it for me last week!! Speaking of whom.....he will be home from work in another hour and a half, I guess I better start thinking about some kind of dinner.........

Later, ya'll!!!!!

Welcome back Beth!!:)

Congratulations Kristy..:)
