I hope it is not rude, but I added myself to the dis yearbook by von. I figure no one will find anything with isyne4u on it, so i added it myself.

Why would it be rude? You should have told me that you weren't in it and i would have added you!

Nancy, what did you wind up having for dinner? I think everyone had good 'suggestions' for you ;)

It was actually just okay, Bethie. It wasn't quite the same because it was a little freezer burned because of the fridge situation last week. Nothing bad but there was some major ice build up.

I have bad news for you too Beth... I don't think Osborne will be around this year :( They tore down the homes that they usually decorate... but CP is definitely an option for me. You ought to see the DIS Meets board... there has been a lot going on over there :)

Oh and dont forget to get your new tags this month ;)

thanks for the reminder. It's sad I see them everyday and I still forget to do it. I know the paper is around here somewhere. I usually run in and do it on the last day of the month because I'm such a slacker.

Von- I noticed most people had other people picking their pictures so I wasn't really sure if I should do it myself or not. But the looks I got from the neighbors while I was out taking the picture. It was quite amusing! :)

Beth-I don't have goodnight moon. I know I should with my son, but I have so many books (the majority of my 50 are his) that there are some i still don't have. I will have to look up Leo the Lop, I don't know that one. Thanks for the suggestion.

I posted a question on the trips board, but I'll ask your opinions too. Going to wdw in november and I'm trying to decide if I should take my sons luxury stroller (you know the kind with compartments and drink holders) or if I should just rent one. He does like to walk some, but when he's tired I hate for him to not have any where to sleep. Any opinions are welcome.

Beth-promise DH I won't let you spend TOO much money!! heheheehe

Tara, I wish I could answer your question but I don't have kids and I know I was walking around the parks w/o needing a stroller when I was 5. I guess I was a rare one who didn't want one at such a young age. I think though that if you are willing to cart one around all day with the chance that your DS will use it then I'd bring it. It can also carry things but I don't know how much of a pain it would be otherwise. So I'll hush.

I am heading to bed all... good night :)

there's a yearbook??? boy I really need to get out and read the other threads :)

Ahh...Rose Mary is a keeper of all stuff! Give me a call when you want to RID your closets and the sort. I throw out everything that's not being used. Poor Derek didn't know what to think when I first moved in and made him get rid of "stuff". The man had bank statements back to 1984......sheesh ;)

Otay.....off to watch our tape of Trading Spaces and TS Family.

Making a mental note not to ever let Kristy see all my stuff  lol. Im a pack rat too, just ask my dh.

Tara--First of all dont you want to change your trip to the beginning of Dec so you can hang with your fellow yaya's?? I may even be bringing my 2 little ones!
I bought 2 cheapy umbrella strollers for our trip. They fold up easy and were great to have in the airport. Ours has no basket but some do. If you get one be sure to get the one with the cover over the top. Ohhh and I also found some clip on fans at Wal-mart that I clipped on the strollers so the boys would have a little breeze.

Sorry Beth, Lainey is right no Osborne lights this year :(

Would love to have a yaya/dis meet however I can't take time off from TDS in dec. i'm lucky to have been able to get the week in nov. off. maybe next year, if I'm not at TDS then I can do it!!

My son doesn't do well in the umbrella strollers. I don't Like how the kids sit so curled up! I know they are easier, but it is just my hang up!

Thanks for the info/advice. That is what I'm looking for.

I understand completely Tara. Dh is a UPS driver and cant take off in Dec either :( It would be a great time for our family trip but he cant do it.
You could also look at some of the smaller regular stollers. WE have one of the nice deluxe ones but I wouldnt take it, to big. We may try to rent one of the double ones on our trip so the 2 little ones can stretch out. If so we are going in Oct and I'll let you know how it was.

Elaine.......dinner? Not very exciting. Salad and Lean Cusine Teriyaki bowl :(
I would have rather had your D'Giornio :) I like Freschetta and D'Giornio bake to rise...if ya gotta have frozen pizza.

DD is home and wants to go at the online gaming....so

Good morning all :) I hope you all have a great day today.

Good luck with the stroller situations. Sometimes I am very glad I don't have kids to worry about that kind of stuff with :) And that stinks that work keeps you from vacationing then :( I am very lucky in that the holidays are usually very slow for the telecom industry (a lot of union workers around and they have tons of vacation then)

Actually, Nancy, I almost wish I had your dinner instead of mine. I had a hard time falling asleep after eating that pizza... I guess I needed something a little more tame ;)

CS good luck picking a date... I say you just pick one and stick to it no matter what :)

Tara,

I was in the same boat with strollers. We wound up taking 2 singles for my 4 year old and 2 year old and glad we did. I looked at umbrellas but didn't find them comfortable enough. We bought this Gray Eddie Bauer Stroller at toys r us (not where I would usually buy strollers). We loved it. It rides great. Is very comfortable. Folds down easily and locks and has a carry handle. DS2 loves is. It also has a parent tray at the top and a kid tray across the seat with cup holders.

I have to confess, I'm a stroller junkie, and a stroller snob:eek:
I have an assortment of singles and doubles and except for these they are all Peg Peregos. But, this stroller won us over. I'm going to be selling my Peg Perego's and just keeping this one.

Check it outhttp://www.babies-store.com/Aluminum_Stroller_Eddie_Bauer_Gridlock_Charcoal_B000069BAV.html

Lizzie- My grandmother says i bought the cadilac of strollers. It has the cup holders for the parents and has the kid cup holder too. It is a grayco. I love it and it does fold easily and I can carry it (not long distances tho). I'm swaing towards taking it. I've had more people say take it than not. I just wasn't sure about how many people take them for 3 year olds. but I want him to be comfortable when he is riding.

Off to take my gma to the dr. Her radiation treatments have put her in a lot of pain again so she is back to the pain patches and can't drive. now she has hit her arm on a door and the skin peeled up, this happens all the time, but this time it looks infected.

So i won't be back until tonight. Hope everyone has a great day!

tara

Good luck Tara with your grandma.

I would definitely take your own. The rental strollers are hard and uncomfortable. My DH was leaning towards not taking a stroller for our 4 year old, but I told him he was crazy. Dylan was always in it. Napped in it every day, and just plain got tired walking. Besides, it was hot and the canopy gave him some shelter.

I just checked the other thread where I posted the qq and someone pointed out all the ickies that are on the strollers you rent. I hadn't even considered that, which is surprising since I don't like shopping carts for the same reason (I use them anyway) So i think we will haul it with us and deal with carrying it from park to park.

thanks!!
tara
