When I was a kid, my family used to go to WDW fairly often - about once a year, I'd guess (though my memory is hazy at best). Most times we had a Shasta motorhome and would stay at Fort Wilderness. When we got a bit older, we switched to the FW cabins.

As adults, we've gone far less often - we were there for New Year's Eve 1999-2000, then not again until 2004. We're now gearing up for what I've been calling "the cherry tour" since my husband and my two nephews (4 1/2 year old twins) will be losing their WDW virginity. :rotfl2:

But I digress.

Since I'm totally obsessed about the upcoming trip, I've been going through photos from previous trips, and when I was at my parents' house not so long ago, I grabbed an old photo album that had Polaroids in it from a trip in 1983. Since I'm clearly masochistic, I thought I'd share the awkwardness that was me at the age of 10 in 1983. This album also has a few pictures from Discovery Island (though I suppose it's hard to tell).

Try as we might, we can't quite remember where the Character meal was held. The most recent theory is somewhere at the Contemporary. Anyone have a better guess?

Looking at the room and trying to see out the windows I think that the character meal was as the Polynesian, at the Tangaroa Terrace, but I might be wrong on that. I don't remember any place in the CR that looked like the pictures you have. It could also have been at the Disney Inn, but I remember that being a Chip and Dale theme.

You're not the only one....not by a long shot! I not only love to look at our old album, I like to look at anyones old albums! Nothing like lookin' at poorly taken pics w/people dressed crazy and sportin' funny hair do's.

Great pics! I'm sure your family has a lot of great memories from those trips. I believe the character breakfast use to be at Downtown Disney/Disney Village Marketplace where the Rainforest Cafe is now located.

We have some pictures from a Chip & Dale character breakfast at Pioneer Hall, from 1987. But, I don't think that's where you were, because there is a window in your pictures. I don't think PH has any windows, do they?
