I am curious. I have seen others get autographed photos of characters for their children deliverd to the room. We are taking our two neices and nephew for their first trip ever in March. How could I get these photos for them? (We will be staying at SSR if that matters.):confused3

Is this something "magical" that DVC MS could help with?

If you really want to guarantee something, consider placing an order at www.disneyflorist.com. They have a wide range of bouquets/baskets for all ages and occasions, including special arrangements for DVC members.

If you are celebrating a special occasion, you can ask that it be noted on the reservation. The resorts will sometimes do things for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, sick children, etc.) but even that is hit-or-miss. I once ordered an arrangement from the florist for my wife's birthday and when delivered they included a couple extra balloons and a card signed by Minnie. But we've mentioned other birthdays before and received nothing.

As an alternative, I'd suggest things like picking up a free "my first trip" button at the theme parks, getting some cheap starter pins for trading with Cast Members or booking a Character meal for those photos and autographs.

Have never seen this. That would be a great thing even if I had to pay $$. Anyone else know of this?

When we were at WDW in 2004, I mentioned when we checked in at Pop that we were there for dd's 3rd birthday. The CM asked me who dd's favorite character was. I told her Cinderella. The next day when we came home from the parks, there was a card and balloons from Cinderella and Prince Charming, with Cinderella's picture on it. Our last night there she got a call from Mickey wishing her happy birthday. Dd is 7 now, and she still has that card. princess:

We are going close to her birthday this year. We cannot be there on her actual birthday becuase there is school. :sad2: I will make it a point to let the CMs know when we check in that we are there to celebrate dd's birthday, and specifically ask if they do anything special. I would recommend you doing the same when you check in. ;)

Wishing you pixie dust! pixiedust:

When we took our kids and grandkids to DLR in May we mentioned while booking that it was a reunion and also some were first visitors. Each family group had a nice package at the desk with autographend photos and buttons. It wasn't in our rooms, but still very nice. This was just a regular reservation, by the way, not DVC.

Thanks for the info. Do you think that if I called Member Services and made a request they could sprinkle some pixie dust? pixiedust:

I know that I can send a letter to California and request one of these photos with an autograph and get it in the mail in 4-6 weeks. (SASE- included with request- found this on another website). Then if it gets here in time, take it down with us and have them out as a surprise one morning.

BUT . . . it would be soooooooo much easier just to have it done on site. Especially, since I am getting well within the 4-6 weeks time frame and they might not make it back to me in time.

Just mention it on the reservation, or at check in. We were at Boardwalk last summer for our 15th anniversary, and one day upon returning to our room, there were balloons and a signed photo of Cinderella and Prince Charming wishing us a happy anniversary. pixiedust:

I had balloons and a photo of goofy sent to our room last August for both my son's birthday. I spoke with the front desk a couple of days before their birthday, and when we returned back to our room after dinner that evening, the balloons and photo was sitting on the table inside our villa. We were staying at BCV. It was a magical moment.
