Hey everyone. I haven't been around in a long time because of Student Teaching.:teacher:  :scared1:
I read somewhere that someone had a welcome bbq dinner on the beach of the Yacht & Beach. Was I crazy, or did I really read that?
The reason I'm asking is because my FMIL wants to pay for a welcome dinner and this is what my fiance and I would like to do.
Any links?
Any information?
Any help?

I really appreciate it!!

THANKS!!!

Hello!

This link was recently posted:

It seems to have a lot of information about sample menus. If you scroll down to rehearsal dinners it has the "Chip n' Dale" menu that some brides have used as a BBQ! Hope that helps! :goodvibes

PS - I hope your student teaching went well! I was doing that 2 short years ago! :thumbsup2

hello. I am having a beach party this month. It seems that it will be alot of sun. And it is in a great spot and is a private event. also, the menue choices are really whatever you want so is the theme and decor. I think it is a great idea for a welcome party. let me know if you have any questions. i am using the chip and dale menue and adding minnie and mickey ice pops!!

Briarprincess, I posted this recently in another thread and thought I would re-post it here:

I attended a wonderful private event on the beach of the Yacht/Beach Club. There was a steel drum band, a DJ, a balloon artist, incredible food (roast beef, shrimp, steak, etc.), ice cold drinks (a full bar), as well as all sorts of beach games and arts & crafts set up for the guests to enjoy (especially the children). The event was held in the evening and Disney illuminated the beach with "balloon" lights that floated in the air (I forget what they're called). It was a wonderful party.

The party truly was divine.

Three years ago, I threw a beach-type of party at the Grand Floridian. I have an old trip report about it (send me a PM if you want the link). Here is a link to my photos: click here. It was a wonderfully, relaxing affair. The Grand Floridian's Convention Services folks did a beautiful job with it.

I hope this helped.

Thank you all so much!
I've been trying to find out information about this without contacting Disney. Because of my schedule, I wouldn't be able to call until 4pm at the earliest and don't want to feel rushed over.

I love the link to the menus. There is so much information there that I was looking for in other places!

Janet2k, I've seen your pictures before and they are amazingl They're part of what spurred me to do the beach bbq welcome dinner. It looks like everyone had a great time!

sunsh1ne, I'm sure there are a lot of things I should be asking, but the main one right now- do you know what the basic costs are? Just site rental fee, and if there's a min. or something that I would have to meet? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks again!!:yay:

Hello well there is no site rental fee i am aware of. I dont even remember a rental fee for tables and chairs. I am paying 40 a person with the customized chip and dale menue. and sodas and water and juice. i did purchase linens and centerpieces and lais and candles. it is 4,000
that is for 69 people!

My DF's folks are throing a Welcome paty Beach BBQ for us the night before the wedding. We are using the chip n dale menu but we chose to have it at the summerhouse over in the grand floridian. It's right on the beach and has a nice gazibo which they use s a bar and has all tables set up already so no rental fees. Plus it over looks the WP where we'll be getting hitched the following day. Costs for us were the menu P/P for food and we added a per drink bar, so we have to pay a bar tender. but no site fee, no rentals just food and drink really :thumbsup2 Hope this helps!
