We had a very lazy start to the day today, neither of us waking up until gone 8:00. When we did eventually get up we found that it was raining so we decided to wait and see if it cleared up. By 10:00 it appeared to be brightening up so I decided to take a chance on driving down to Cypress Gardens and see what happened.

On the drive down the sky alternated between appearing to break up and chucking down buckets of rain so when I missed a turn about a mile from the gardens we grabbed the chance to stop for a drink and assess the situation. We went into a Wendys and by the time we came out it still looked like the weather couldn’t be trusted so we decided to drive back to Orlando and do some bits and pieces.

First stop on the way back was going to be Festival Bay Mall and as we approached the Disney exits on I-4 the traffic was at a standstill so I quickly re-programmed the sat-nav and we came off the I-4 and up Turkey Lake Road to bypass the traffic. Dad went into Bass Pro and got some more s-biners (like carabiners but in an S shape) and we then went across the road to Prime Outlets.

We stopped off in the food court where we had a slice of pizza each and then went into the Disney outlet where we were still on the lookout for a Grumpy plush. We came away empty handed again and drove over to the Wal-Mart on Turkey Lake Road where we stocked up on root beer and beer and also got some Pringles and dip to bring home with us.

We were back in the studio by 3:00 where we had a quick break before going out again at 5:00 for an evening at Magic Kingdom. We were soon at the parking area where we were stuck way out in Donald, in fact it was an area past that! There was a tram waiting and once we got to the TTC we decided to get the ferryboat over for which we had a short wait.

First order of business tonight was Carousel of Progress which we virtually walked onto. All was going well until the end of the first scene when the theatre began moving as normal but, after a couple of inches it shuddered and stopped again. The transition song finished playing and the scene started all over again. It appears there is no way of overriding things and so we were forced to sit through the same scene until the end but thankfully the rest of the ride proceeded with no further problems.

After Carousel we were going to do the TTA but there was a short line for it so we went round to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café where Dad had a bacon double cheeseburger and I had a quarter-pounder which we ate watching Sonny Eclipse, who was in fine voice as usual.

After eating we rode TTA and then went to stake out a spot for Spectromagic and Wishes. As Spectromagic was 15 minutes later than normal we wouldn’t have had time to watch Spectromagic from our usual spot in front of Hall of Presidents and then move to Tomorrowland bridge for Wishes so we found a spot on the right hand side of the hub in front of the castle to watch both. I got some good shots of Spectromagic.

After Wishes we made our way out of the park and boarded the resort monorail back to the TTC, where there was a tram waiting so we were soon back in the car and arrived back at the studio for around 10:05. We were in bed by 11:00 ready for a lazy morning and lunch with Snowy-girls the following day.

Day 11

Sounds like you had a more relaxing day - your evening pics are great! Much as I love Carousel, I'm not sure I would want to get stuck on it though! :)

Thanks Suzy. I was a bit concerned that we might get stuck again. Once we started moving after sitting through the 'turn of the century' twice everybody clapped and cheered.

im impressed with your pics ! :thumbsup2

Thanks Nat. I just point and shoot and the camera does all the work. I am particularly proud of the Mickey & the castle though.

piccieas are fab, my night time shots are aways rubbish.

Mine used to be bad but then I found that I tend to get better pics if I turn the flash OFF, which sounds wrong but seems to work.

Great day, shame about the weather though.

Nice pics :goodvibes My Spectro ones are rubbish - I didn't manage to get there early enough as Dad thought he hadn't locked the car and then the trams were useless and then I got a bit waylaid in a crush - in short, I forgot all my DIS training :rotfl2:
Shame you didn't manage Cypress Gardens though - we always fancied it but never managed a trip. As for the weather, you can only imagine what it was like waking up in that 17 stories up in our condo - you couldn't see a thing  We ended up (once again) at Sweet Tomatoes and did EPCOT in the pm (just w/s), which wasn't really that busy, I think because everyone was in the FW bit for the rides as it was EMH.

I see a pattern emerging in your trip. :rotfl:

Really enjoying your TR. That photo of mickey and the castle is beautiful.

Shame about the weather but at least it cleared for the night - great pics too.

:lmao: I know, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself having the DDP in Nov. - Do thay take it in S.Ts? :rotfl2:

Well by that time the Crossroads branch will be open, which is just across the road from Downtown Disney so....

Really enjoying your TR. That photo of mickey and the castle is beautiful.

Thank you. I have to hold my hands up and say it was a complete fluke as he turned round just at the right time and I didn't even realise the castle was in shot but it's still my favourite.

Wonderful photo's David, I have to agree with everyone else the Mickey shot is fabulous :thumbsup2

Great pics of Spectro and Wishes :goodvibes You were wise to put off driving.. I drove in a Florida storm in 2007 thinking it wouldn't be THAT bad and we aquaplaned on the I4  So glad it was quiet at the time!
