Welcome gift basket question

I need ideas from others on how to best get a welcome gift basket in our hotel room when we check in. We're staying at the Paradise Pier and the basket will be for dd (5). The ones through vacation planning are nice, but too expensive. I can make one up on my own, but how would I get it in our room prior to check-in?

I am also curious about this. I have 3 boys (12, 10, 8) and 1 girl (5). If you are traveling with another adult you could get them to do it. or maybe find mousekeeping and see if they could??

By the by: what kind of things are you putting in your DD basket? If you are traveling via airplane, how are you getting the basket there? Hope I'm not to nosey, just needing some ideas for my DD and her three bro's.

We did this the first time we went down. What I did was was have my husband drop me off so I could check in and he drove off to park the car with the kids. He took his sweet time unloading the car and stalling as much as he could. I ran up and put the bags on the bed and ran back down to the lobby and stood by the check in desk. When the kids came in we all went up together and voila! We're going back down next week and the kids have been asking about gift bags. I'm not sure what I am going to do since I haven't put anything together yet.

I'm not actually going to use a basket. I'll probably find a disney backpack and fill it with fun things....goggles, flip flops, pen and signature book, mouse ears, sunglasses, etc.

It's only me and dd on this trip. I'm thinking that the easiest way to do this is to put the backpack in a shopping bag and carry it on the plane. When I check-in, I'll ask the CM to have it put in the room during our time at Goofy's kitchen that evening. I don't think there's any way to have it put in the room prior to our check-in, unless the CM is willing to have someone run it up while we take a few minutes checking out the hotel & pool. Either way, I'm sure it will work out.

Last trip, I also left dd a special gift each day from tinkerbell. I had picked up a few inexpensive things from Walmart & Target. I'll do that this time, as well.

Have you thought of maybe seeing if a bell hop can take your bags up to the room and set up the bag on your bed? You could tell your daughter your sending the things up so you can check on your reservation or what ever in the lobby, before heading up to the room.
