Weird verbiage regarding annual passes…

I was checking out the extended evening hours on Disney’s website and saw the following verbiage and it struck me as weird. The line reads as follows

“Or, Guests may visit with a ticket or annual pass with the Park Hopper option”

The way that is worded makes me think that there will be an up-charge for an AP with park-hopper otherwise, the wording should be something along the lines of ‘Or, Guests may visit with an annual pass or ticket with the Park Hopper option’. It’s a small difference in wording that could be an accidental leak…I’ve included a screen shot too. What are your thoughts?

I suppose APs could come with some future kind of park hopping upsell or restriction, but I think that is likely just referring to needing park hopper tickets.

Disney has been renewing annual passes without any park hopping restriction.

Poor choice of grammar for sure! I read it the same way. Seems to me like the proofreader said “change this so it’s more clear” and the project manager said “we don’t have time for that change”

Amazing. They just took away the incentive to stay deluxe while at the same time promoting more expensive ticket options to get this 'perk' while staying value, moderate or even off site. The people being left out are the ones who buy single day tickets and I'd think that's the majority.

It seems like they've just quietly walked back the evening hours to deluxe resort guests only. I checked the website and any reference to deluxe resorts has been omitted. I guess the backlash was hefty.

This is not a confirmed thing, I just read it and thought it sounded oddly worded and came here for other opinions. No one is saying Disney is deffinitely doing this and even if they did, how does that take away the incentive of staying deluxe?

The extended hours are still for Deluxe and Deluxe Villas only. See pic I just took of their info page about this perk, it lists the “participating” resorts.

So far, the only changes that I've seen, aside from updating the dates, is the "other select resorts" which were added in order to include S/D/SR and the SoG a little later. No walking back of the decision to limit the perk to deluxe resort guests.

As to the wording quoted in the OP, it certainly lacks clarity. But even reading through it the first time, I understood it to mean "theme park ticket with hopping or an annual pass".

There is an annual pass that does not have hopping abilities - maybe the wording is there to make sure people with that pass know they can't hop under their annual pass just because they technically have access to the perk?
