Weird response from Mythos???

:confused: I just called Mythos to make a reservation for 10/21 at noon. At first I called the main toll free number and they gave me the number to call Mythos directly because they couldn't get into the reservations system for some reason. When I called Mythos, a gentleman answered and took my reservation and then said the strangest thing... He told me to call back and verify 2 weeks before. Which would have been fine except he followed it up by saying 'due to the disaster in New York business has been very slow and you want to call about 2 weeks before hand to make sure we're still here.'????????????:confused: :confused: :confused:

How wierd is that? Why wouldn't they be there? I thought it was a very popular restaurant... what? would they close it? Or close the park? This wasn't even a *dinner* reservation, it was for 12 noon on a Sunday... the response really bothered me... a little scary but I'm a bit sensitive right now as I'm sure most people are.... anyone have any idea or thought as to why he would say something like that?? Just thought I'd run it by you all....
 
I am sure it was just precautionary. However on 9/14 they did not even open due to very low attendence at the park (word was that attendence was just above three figures.) I was told that Mythos set-up everything for opening at 12:00 and started to tear it all back down at 11:45 due to lack of ressies and such low park attendence. I was there 9/15 and 9/22 and all was back to normal. When you go try the pear cobbler with a shot of Cointreau on the side. the pear with the orange flavored liqueour and the chochlate inside the pear is wonderful :smooth:
 
That was a very weird response from Mythos. We called last weekend for reservations for mid Oct. When calling the main reservation we were also given the number to Mythos directly . No one answered, but we did leave a message on their answering machine. The gentleman from Mythos called us back two days later. I asked if there was a confirmation number and he said no just give our name. He didn't state that we should call back and verify the reservations or that they might not be open. I really hope they are open when we go; as I'm sure you do too!:confused:
 
Ressies at Mythos are over rated. I no longer make ressies. The longest i have had to wait is 15 minutes.

Now on the other hand i am a party of one so seating for me is never a problem.

If you have 4 or more in your party make ressies you and Mythos will both be happy!!! :cool:
 

I have a very large party for a Sunday in Dec. and got a similar response. He just took my name and told me to call a day or two before we came, because someone might book the resturant for an event or party. He sort of acted like I was calling to far ahead for a reservation. But it was strange, not like Disney's "business as usual" response when I called there.
